Chapter 338 Worthy Of A Nobel Prize
Mani read these words again and again.
By now, more than eighteen hours had passed, and it seemed there was no hope for Lenny.
And Ella, as she walked away, had already given the instructions for everything to be burned and disposed of.
Surprisingly, this included Lenny's body.
"WAIT!" Mani suddenly called out.
This action of hers surprised the medics there, and even Ella stopped.
Immediately, Mani rushed for Lenny.
She read the paper again and again. Then she turned to one of the medics.
"Did you add anything at all aside from the plants?"
The medic shook his head, "NO! Nothing else was given orally."
Those words caught Mani's attention.
It was at this moment that she looked to the side, and there it was.
This was the problem.
The moment she left Lenny with the medics, they placed an IV drip on his body.
She suddenly remembered that while the plants were forced into Lenny's throat, the medics had changed the IV a few times.
Of course, they did not know better.
But a part of Lenny's instruction was that he was not to be given anything other than the plants in question.
Instantly, she pushed everyone away.
Then she pulled out the IV drip connected to his skin.
This IV drip would not even have been possible if it were not for the effects of the poison plants softening his body.
Instantly, she opened Lenny's mouth and fed him a tiny piece of all fifty plants.
The moment the last one was in, she waited and watched, just like the others.
And just when it looked like nothing was happening, Lenny's body suddenly deflated to its normal size.
The spots on his body also disappeared, and this was the same thing for the coloring.
Also, Lenny suddenly took deep breaths in and out.
This was evidence of his relief.
Although he did not open his eyes, it was obvious to all that his body was back.
This surprised Ella greatly.
She could not help but frown at this. Now, she was very curious as to what Lenny was doing and what secrets his body had.
There was also that other thing she had been pondering about.
Lenny had said that he was from the arena, but he used holy power.
It made her wonder if he was really a Nephilim or maybe even a demon-angel abomination.
Then again, she considered this most unlikely.
After all, in the history of the world, there had only been one, and that one she knew was a very rare exception.
Either way, she couldn't help but lick her lower lips in anticipation of what was to come.
Since all was done here, there was no need for her to stay any longer.
"Good job, Mani," Ella complimented as she turned and walked away.
This was the same thing for the medics.
All of them left except Mani.
She stood over Lenny, unaware that, at this moment, he was undergoing a different kind of enlightenment.
This state of enlightenment occurred as Lenny lay there, unaware of his own fate.
After all, he had done what he could.
He was not one to cry over spilled milk.
He was also not afraid of death.
He had brushed enough shoulders with it to be able to call Death an acquaintance.
At one point, he even embraced it.
If he was going to die like this, then he did not mind. After all, there was nothing to it.
At least he got to relax a bit as it happened.
However, in this state, something unexpected happened.
Already, Lenny could not feel his own body.
But that did not mean that he could not feel with his own body.
He felt as the toxic, poisonous substances he took reacted with his body.
Every move the toxins made with every organ and every tissue, he felt it.
He felt their reaction with his hormones and enzymes, how certain toxins reacted together to produce entirely different substances, and how those newly formed substances had an entirely different reaction to certain organs that was entirely different from those of their parent substances.
Lenny concentrated his passive ability on his own body and observed the changes, some of which, he even controlled.
At this moment, his own body had suddenly become, firstly, his own guinea pig, and secondly, his own lab.
In his head, he would watch the production of a particular enzyme or hormone and see how it reacted to a particular toxin.
Basically speaking, the experiment he had been performing on the pig was now being performed in his own body.
However, this experiment was being performed at an incredibly molecular level.
This was something that no scientist in his former world could imagine being possible.
However, Lenny was doing it.
There was once a saying that the human mind was capable of far more than we gave it credit for.
Lenny, at this time, was making this theory a reality.
There was nothing else for him to do in this state except this.
In this state, slowly, a solution for the problem in the pocket space was formed.
Lenny isolated many different pathogens in his body and then reintroduced the toxins he had filtered with his own cells.
These were toxins that had been changed by a reaction to his hormones and enzymes.
Slowly, he observed the base reaction, and after a while, he reintroduced it to the initial toxin that he had first swallowed.
The results he got were incredible.
If this was his former world, what he had just discovered could very well mean a noble prize.
After all, this right here was a major breakthrough in medicine...
