Chapter 354 The Problem With Secrets
Hector could not hear her. Even if he wanted to, he could not.
The whisper in his mind fed on the pain and hate he felt, building and growing exponentially.
Slowly, it consumed him.
Unknowingly, one of his eyes turned a shade of red.
However, he tried to hold it back.
Now, he was not just fighting the pain of the realization that had just kicked him in the face and the disappointment that came with it, but he was also fighting the foreboding chaos inside, begging him to devour it all.
He balled his fist as he tried to hide himself in a corner.
The veins on his body bulged up and looked like red lava flowing underneath his skin.
In the last few days, he had heard the whispers again and again. But this was the first time that those whispers actually threatened to burst out of him.
"Kill her~~"
"Kill all of them ~~"
"No! No!!" He muttered to himself.
"But you know you want to do it. She took him from you. And his death also took your mother.~~"
"Yes...I want to... No! I..."
As Hector struggled with himself, he hit his head on the ground again and again, trying his best to stop the whisper, but it was no longer a whisper.
It was now full-blown screams pulling at his will and feeding his heart with more reasons why he should run wild.
In this manner, a cycle of torture and pain continued in his head.
The pain fed the chaos, and the chaos fed the pain, each expanding on the other.
Ciri had been observing what was going on.
In truth, she did what she did because parts of her wanted to enjoy the drama unfold and see what it would lead to.
After all, such secrets could either build up a relationship or break it down.
Right now, it seemed more like it was breaking it down.
However, as the chaos inside Hector grew, the smile on her face froze as she actually felt it.
It was at this point that Athena, unable to hold back her emotions, tried to hold him.
"No! DON\'T..." Ciri tried to warn her, but it was too late.
The moment she touched him.
"STAY AWAY!!!"
He screamed in a deep, menacing voice that was not his own.
Also, he had used the Voice of Bedlam.
This was a hit, point blank.
Usually, Hector\'s ability disorients his victims, bringing about chaos in their heads.
However, right now, it did far more than that.
The sound waves went in all directions, hitting not just Ciri and Athena but also the pillars.
The pillars that were already full of energy from the blood moon suddenly developed cracks.
This was especially true for the biggest pillar.
"No!!!" Ciri screamed in a chorus of voices as a soul was evicted from her body, dissipating in the air like salt in water.
"You BASTARD! That was my sister!!" She waved her hand, blasting Hector with a rush of Negative magic.
Hector was blasted off the hill.
"No! Hector!!" Athena screamed through her pain as blood poured out of her mouth.
Usually, she could isolate the effects of the voice of Bedlam by shutting down her sense of hearing as best as possible.
A feat that was only possible because of her ability and constant training as a result of her zeal to be with Hector.
However, the blast she felt just now had only been prevented instinctively.
A big part of that entered her mind.
She instantly knew what was going to happen to her.
The Voice of Bedlam was not a technique she could survive.
She could already feel the mangled Chaos encroaching on her sanity.
However, she had long resolved in her mind a solution for the day this happened.
After all, being in a relationship with Hector was like dangling a heavy machete with a thread as thin as a spider\'s web over her head.
But she was most willing to take the risk and the consequences.
Immediately, Athena lifted her head high, and then, with a strong force, she smashed it into the ground.
~Dum~
Instantly, she passed out.
Blood flowed from her head and Orifices.
Ciri, on the other hand, fell to her knees as her eyes balked out in tears.
The moment the voice of Bedlam came out, one of the souls jumped in the way to save the others, sacrificing herself.
Ciri had just lost a soul.
However, she soon noticed something else.
The pillars were cracked, releasing energy amassed from the blood moon and the invitation stone into the air.
"No! No!!" She waved her hands as she tried her best to mend the pillars.
However, her souls were still shaken by the voice of Bedlam, as there was disharmony in her insides...
Meanwhile, some moments ago, Minnie and her sisters had descended to go meet the uninvited guests.
Lenny and the others had reached the disfigured trees made of human flesh that carried the faces of the witches that had been rumored to have unfortunately fallen to their own despicable negative magic.
"Once we go through this place, we will arrive at the Altar." Ella stated.
Lenny nodded as he advanced forward.
However, he suddenly felt a blade at his neck, and instinctively, he rolled over to the side.
He looked around but did not see anything.
He suddenly felt an advance behind him, and then he stabbed backwards with his sword.
Lenny felt a blade Parry his.
Minnie suddenly materialized.
"Not bad, and here I thought you were only Sleeping on your ass..."
Lenny frowned at those words.
