Vol. 1 - Chapter 52 - Cold Hands
So she suddenly came up with the idea of knitting a sweater for Luo Hongye.
Even though she could effortlessly use her spiritual energy to knit a sweater, she kept feeling something was missing, so she decided to do it personally.
She could take the opportunity to knit him one as well.
However, when she finally started, she realized it was not as easy as she had thought.
Her pride as an Empress from the Heavenly Realm did not allow her to give up. Instead, this triggered Luo Ruying’s competitive nature, making her even more determined to knit the sweaters.
As an Empress from the Heavenly Realm, she could even learn cooking. It was the same for knitting!
Luo Ruying looked at the knitting instructions Qi Yuan had given her while moving her hands.
Over the past few days, Qi Yuan had kept coming over whenever she was free.
She had asked Qi Yuan for these instructions during this time.
It was Luo Ruying’s first time knitting, so she did not know what she was doing. She looked at each step before turning back to knit accordingly.
Ning Yechen and Luo Hongye played with the snow in the yard.
Luo Hongye had never seen snow, so she was delighted to watch it fly down from the sky. She walked on the snow, making creaking sounds.
“Daddy, is this snow?” Luo Hongye held up some snow in her hands, her bright eyes full of curiosity.
“That’s right. It’s snow. Do you like it?” Ning Yechen carried Luo Hongye from behind dotingly and let her sit in his arms.
“Uh-huh.” Luo Hongye looked up with a smile.
His daughter was beyond adorable!
Ning Yechen reached out his hand to stroke Luo Hongye’s chubby face.
Luo Hongye laughed uncontrollably, looking extremely lovable.
“Yeye, let me teach you how to make a snowman.”
“What is a snowman?” Luo Hongye asked quizzically.
“It’s a man made of snow! Let me show you!”
Ning Yechen rolled snowballs in the yard. Before long, he made one large and one small snowball.
He placed the small snowball on top of the large one and fashioned a cute face on the small one. “Tada~! A snowman! This is you!”
“Wow! Daddy is the best!” Luo Hongye looked at the snowman and clapped happily. She also started making snowballs. “I want to make a snowman that looks like Daddy.”
Luo Hongye was tiny, so it was impossible for her to build a snowman Ning Yechen’s size.
Ning Yechen naturally had to help.
The father and daughter rolled snowballs in the yard.
Luo Ruying watched the two of them play in the snow and make snowmen, and a doting smile appeared on her face.
Soon, Luo Hongye and Ning Yechen made a big snowman.
Luo Hongye did not stop at that. Instead, she started making another snowball.
“Yeye, are you going to make another snowman?” Ning Yechen smiled. He did not expect Luo Hongye to enjoy making snowmen so much.
“We have snowmen, but Mommy doesn’t.” Luo Hongye smiled happily.
Ning Yechen did not see this answer coming.
Even Luo Ruying, knitting by the side, was astonished.
The two of them looked at each other and smiled.
Luo Hongye was really a sensible child.
“Okay, then. Let me help you!” Ning Yechen continued making a third snowman with Luo Hongye.
Three snowmen stood in the yard, a tall one and a shorter one standing on each side of the tiniest one in the middle. Wooden sticks ran through their hands, making them look like they were holding hands.
After making the snowmen, Luo Hongye happily stood in front of them.
Ning Yechen noticed her cold red hands, held her in his arms, and held her hands with his.
Thanks to Luo Hongye’s special physique and bloodline, she did not feel cold. Only her hands were slightly red.
“Daddy, your hands are so warm.” Luo Hongye sat in Ning Yechen’s embrace and felt warm currents passing through her hands into her body.
“It’s so I can keep you warm, right?” Ning Yechen smiled.
He looked at Luo Ruying\'s beautiful figure sitting at the side, and an idea came to him. “Yeye, why don’t we get Mommy to warm you up?”
Luo Hongye smiled and nodded.
Ning Yechen quietly carried Luo Hongye to behind Luo Ruying, held Luo Hongye’s cold hands, and placed them on Luo Ruying\'s nape.
Luo Ruying shivered and turned around. She saw Ning Yechen and Luo Hongye playing a prank on her and glared at him. Really now.
Luo Ruying touched Luo Hongye’s cool hands, took her from Ning Yechen, sat her in her arms, and placed her small hands inside her clothes.
“Mommy is so warm inside.” Luo Hongye lay in Luo Ruying’s embrace.
Ning Yechen wanted to play a prank on Luo Ruying while she was knitting. He did not expect her to voluntarily take the child and place Luo Hongye\'s hands under her clothes.
“Dear…” Ning Yechen said softly from the side.
“Hmm?” Luo Ruying raised her head and looked at Ning Yechen quizzically.
“My hands are a little cold too,” Ning Yechen said solemnly.
Luo Ruying was caught by surprise, and her face turned red. She turned her head aside and pointed inside the house. “There are stoves inside the house. Why don’t you go inside to warm your hands?”
_This guy is up to no good again. _
“Huh?” Ning Yechen shook his head disappointedly.
He knew this would happen.
His wife was playing favorites.
Their child could place her hands inside her clothes, but he couldn’t.
Luo Ruying secretly glanced at Ning Yechen, smiled, and reached her hands out to him. “It takes too long to start a stove. W-why don’t you hold my hands?”
Ning Yechen promptly made his hands turn cold and reached out to hold Luo Ruying’s hands.
He took back his words!
Sure enough, his wife was thoughtful and considerate!
Earlier, he had already warmed his hands to help keep Luo Hongye warm. Now, in order to hold his wife\'s hand, he had to make them cold.
Otherwise, she might notice something.
When Ning Yechen held Luo Ruying’s hands, she could sense the coldness.
She did not expect his hands to be so cold.
Their daughter had clearly said his hands were very warm earlier.
Luo Ruying was puzzled, but she did not continue thinking about it. She used her spiritual energy to warm Ning Yechen.
Ning Yechen held Luo Ruying’s hands and placed them on his cheeks, looking very pleased.
His wife\'s hands were warm and soft.
At this moment, a gentle knocking sounded in the yard.
