Chapter 341 - One Ran, One Chased!
Chapter 341: One Ran, One Chased!
Ling Chuxi ran until she was almost tired to death, and the old man chasing her was also about to be annoyed to death. Every time he was about to catch up to the little brat in front of him, she would mock him with her venomous tongue. Furthermore, there was not a single curse word that was used and never a sentence that was repeated! It made him so angry that smoke could come out of his ears! By the time he had regained his senses, he noticed that the naughty brat had run far away. How hateful! It had been a whole day and night, but he had yet to catch her. When he caught her, he would definitely make her feel like dying was a better option than living. He would throw her into the Ten Thousand Poison Cave and let her be bitten to death by venomous beasts!
The old man had just finished planning her demise when his stomach suddenly growled. Even an expert’s stomach could get hungry! He had been running about madly for a whole day and night – just imagine how much energy he had consumed! Furthermore, he had always been pampered so he required only the best in both eating and living, and he had to bathe every day. Now, for such a long period of time, he had not eaten, slept or bathed. His body was sticky and he felt extremely uncomfortable. He also wished to eat, sleep and bathe!
“Stop running!” The old man shouted loudly from behind.
“If you stop chasing, then I’ll stop running!” Naturally, Ling Chuxi would not stop running.
“If you stop running, then I’ll stop chasing!” The old man called back.
“Do you think I’m an idiot?! The moment I stop, you will catch me and send me to my death!” Ling Chuxi ran even faster. This was the first time in history that she was this miserable. From the moment she came into this world, everything had been smooth sailing, but this was the biggest challenge she had faced so far.
Ling Chuxi was so focused on running away that by the time she had regained her senses, she noticed that the old man had actually disappeared! After Ling Chuxi confirmed that there was no one behind her, then stopped to rest. She was hungry, sweaty, and tired. Ling Chuxi went to search for food first and managed to catch a rabbit nearby. She immediately started a fire to roast it, then ate it. Even while she was eating, she was on guard. It was definitely the right move because while she was still eating, she saw the old man running towards her from far away!
‘Sh*t! You’re still alive?!’ Ling Chuxi angrily bit into the rabbit’s thigh and got up to start running again. ‘Guess this old pervert just went to fill his stomach and once he was done, he came back to chase me! So stubborn!’
And so, the hunt continued. One desperately ran away while the other chased without giving up. They ran until they got hungry, then both would eat. They ran until they got sleepy, then both would sleep for a bit. However, Ling Chuxi was anxious at every moment and kept her guard up. If she was caught in a moment of carelessness, the only outcome was death.
Just like that, a few days and nights passed. Ling Chuxi was miserable and disheveled beyond belief, however, she never once thought of giving up. She had never been someone who gave up easily and this time was no different.
The sun had set that day and as Ling Chuxi was running, the person behind her disappeared again. She knew that the old pervert had gone to eat again and according to habit, he would definitely take a bath after eating. She would have a bit more time to relax now.
Ling Chuxi stopped and took a look at her surroundings. She seemed to be in some remote forest. She immediately went to search for food and found a wild chicken. ‘Not bad, let’s just make Beggars’ Chicken. Good thing I did not throw away the condiments I always carry with me.’
Ling Chuxi immediately used Luo Chen Sword to dig a hole. Seeing the lightly trembling Luo Chen Sword, Ling Chuxi sighed. Such a divine weapon had ended up in her hands. It had not even shown its true might, and here she was using it to dig a pit to make Beggar’s Chicken. The current Ling Chuxi was dusty and dirty and looked completely pitiful. Where was the radiant and spirited Ling Chuxi who had won the competition?
