Chapter 466: Take Your Life While You Are Sick!
Within a split second, Elder Qiu’s face turned a deathly ashen as he ruthlessly gritted his teeth and suddenly waved his right arm to block Ling Chuxi’s fiercely approaching blade as he retreated speedily at the same time.
With a miserable grunt, blood was sent spraying and an arm flew off. Elder Qiu’s vicious expression also changed completely due to the searing pain he felt.
The figures in black who were surrounding Ling Yichen heard the miserable cry of Elder Qiu and subconsciously looked over at him from the corners of their eyes. When they saw that where there should have been an arm, there was only a shoulder and the blood gurgling from the wound, all their expressions changed.
“Good, good. To have such schemes at such a young age, I admire you, I really admire you,” gasped Elder Qiu. He could also be considered stubborn. After taking more than ten steps back, he still stood straight without collapsing and said such a thing to Ling Chuxi ruthlessly.
“Oh, many thanks for the compliments. However, even if you worshiped me, I will not let you off just because you do.” Ling Chuxi’s smile was brilliant, but the words she spoke made the other party want to vomit blood. However, despite her talking, the actions of her hands did not stop.
Take your life while you are sick! Ling Chuxi was not one to act all righteous. Not taking this opportunity to get rid of future troubles was something only an idiot would do.
Without any nonsense, Ling Chuxi pierced her sword at Elder Qiu.
“Do you think that you could kill me just like that?” snorted Elder Qiu as he suddenly dug out a black pill from his robes.
“Don’t!” cried the figures in black surrounding Ling Yichen. They all yelped in surprise at the same time and retreated together, escaping into the forest in a few different directions.
Just as their yelps were heard, Elder Qiu had already crushed the pill and used an even faster speed to run away.
“Leave now!” Ling Chuxi shouted as she also ran forward following the small path.
Seeing how the figures in black were frightened out of their wits, this pill was definitely some kind of impressive poison. If even they themselves did not dare to deal with it, why would Ling Chuxi even consider remaining at her original spot to stupidly wait for death?
Ling Yichen understood this as well. Without waiting for Ling Chuxi to finish shouting her warning, he had already taken steps forward and so the two of them ran onwards shoulder to shoulder in order to escape.
‘Buzz...’ A strong buzzing could be heard by their ears, as if a swarm of wasp had suddenly swarmed them.
“Argh!” a shriek could be heard.
Ling Chuxi and Ling Yichen used the corners of their eyes to sweep a glance over their surroundings and saw a cloud of green lights that looked like ghostly balls of flame in the air which were flashing, and speedily floating onwards. Some of the green lights had already enveloped one of the figures in black who was behind Elder Qiu earlier on. He had ran the slowest of them all and therefore was caught by the ghostly lights.
“Argh... ARGH...” cried out the figure in black, crumpling to the ground as his entire body twisted and twitched while he shrieked himself hoarse. The panicked and fearful expression in his eyes very quickly rotted and disappeared at a rate which was visible to the naked eye. Streaks of blood traces also appeared on his garments and all of his blood and flesh were constantly disappearing.
It was only then that the two of them could clearly see that the green bits of light were not ghostly balls of fire but rather little jade green insects shaped like flying ants which were pouncing on the screaming figure in black at this moment, devouring his flesh and blood.
Nether Blood Ants. Ling Chuxi now understood that the “pill” that Elder Qiu had crushed earlier on was not actually a poisonous pill but rather a waxed capsule which sealed and hid the Nether Blood Ants. No wonder even his own people ran away so quickly in terror.
Rumors have it that the Nether Blood Ant only appeared in the tyrannically miasma jungle swamp in the southern parts and was extremely rare. Before they fully matured, they did not look much different from ordinary ants, but once they fully matured and their wings grew, so did their bloodthirstiness and no matter whether it was a lion, a ferocious beast or a poisonous snake as big as a python, if they were targeted by Nether Blood Ants, all of them would only be left with death and turn into a pile of white bones in the end. Luckily, matured Nether Blood Ants only had the lifespan of a couple of hours and thus the extent of harm they could cause was not great.
Ling Chuxi had only read records of Nether Blood Ants in books but had never heard of them making an appearance in any of the countries across the mainland. Furthermore, she had never heard of anyone being able to seal Nether Blood Ants in a wax capsule. She could easily guess that the wax capsule was definitely in and of itself, not a simple thing.
