Chapter 233 - 234: Accident (2)
Qin Zhiyou looked up at her, and Lu Weixi’s expression softened slightly: “After we disembark, then…”
Before she could finish her sentence, Qin Zhiyou understood. She was asking about their destinations after disembarking.
Qin Zhiyou had work to do and had previously planned it all. He planned to fly to his destination as soon as he got off the ship; even his plane ticket was already booked. He didn’t know beforehand that Lu Weixi would also be onboard; hence, he had no plans of cancelling this trip.
After all, it was just a small business deal, whether he went or not wouldn’t make a huge difference. Besides, he had been planning to delegate more responsibilities. He couldn’t handle everything himself. As long as he could take charge in major areas, he would leave the rest to a professional team. Otherwise, he would collapse before he even had a chance to fight with his uncle and aunt.
Qin Zhiyou immediately looked at her: “If you…”
“So, you have work, right? No problem, you go ahead with it. I have a flight booked. I will go back directly after this,” Lu Weixi answered immediately upon seeing his expression. She had taken a few days off, so her work had piled up. So, she also wanted to go back as early as possible to finish up the work she had missed.
After hearing Lu Weixi say so much in such a short span of time, Qin Zhiyou knew that she had made plans. He just nodded in response to her.
Seeing him not being difficult, Lu Weixi immediately rose and made a call to Xiaochen: “I should be back in the office by tomorrow. You can start arranging it. Over the past few days, there are a few clients that I need to meet. Arrange the timings, and I will meet them when I’m back tomorrow. As for the drafts you mentioned, what did the client want to do exactly…”
Qin Zhiyou watched Lu Weixi stride to the window, looking out at the ocean as she discussed work arrangements. She had really changed a lot compared to five years ago; she was a completely different person now.
However, a minor incident did occur when they disembarked.
Qin Zhiyou and Lu Weixi were having lunch in the dining hall. The cruise ship was about to return, and everyone had gathered in the dining hall again. Seeing the representatives from the second and third branches of the Qin Family arriving from afar, Lu Weixi acted as if she didn’t notice them, even too lazy to greet them with a “uncle and aunt”.
Of course, Qin Weijian and Qin Weijia didn’t approach with their kids either. Especially since Qin Zhiyou was by Qin Weijian’s side. After the shock from a few days ago, he had now completely regained his composure. It’s not like there were any lingering confusions or disturbances, he might even be able to call her “sister-in-law”.
As for Cai Yiren, she wasn’t even on their radar. With Qin Zhiyou’s parents present, she didn’t want to impose herself. She could only watch from afar.
Her purpose for boarding the ship this time included focusing on Qin Zhiyou, Liao’s case, and paving the way for the Bai Family. She achieved none of these goals. Although Qin Zhiyou clearly showed distaste towards her, he hadn’t collaborated with Liao before; thus, if her design was to his liking, it was not impossible for her to be selected.
As for the Bai Family returning to China, she had called her mother the previous night to report her encounter with Qin Zhiyou and Lu Weixi despising them and advised her mother to inform Mr. Bai. If her and her mother couldn’t gain any advantages from Qin Zhiyou, then perhaps Mr. Bai could.
Everyone present had their own problems until a commotion from the distant deck. They heard cries: “A guest has suddenly fainted..”
