Chapter 24

The knife, the leader among all weapons, embodies a sense of dominance and ferocity. Those who wield it should have an imposing aura, like a ferocious tiger descending a mountain.

As Jack Clark practiced basic knife skills, other students gradually flocked to the third floor. Each found their own vacant area and began practicing.

All these students were from Class 3. There were those like Matt Watkins who had established their foundations earlier on, as well as regular students who had only done so in the last two days. All in all, there were just over a dozen of them.

According to school regulations, a martial cultivation teacher would guide five classes during Senior One, merely providing rudimentary instructions.

By the second semester, once the students were divided into humanities and cultivation subjects, those from the five classes who had established their foundations would be consolidated into one class.action

Only then would they become formal students under Lori Parma, numbering less than a hundred.

By the second semester, the number of these students would be further reduced. Many of those with slow progress or poor qualifications would choose to give up.

After all, not everyone can endure the arduous and monotonous feeling of making no progress over half a year or even a year.

Soon, more than a dozen cultivation areas on the third floor were filled up. Some students practiced knife skills and sword techniques like Jack, while others practiced with a variety of weapons such as rods and clubs.

Others were practicing different forms of martial arts and leg techniques.

However, whether it was practicing palm attacks or weaponry, due to their robust basic attributes, sounds of air being ripped apart and imposing auras filled the room whenever these students moved.

While the students practiced cultivation methods, Lori occasionally patrolled, providing guidance on the spot if she noticed any problem with someone’s training.

Students who encountered problems during their practice would also consult her.

However, Crystal Leinster, Justin Welan and a few others were hardly seen on this floor. They had found a temporary room for their training and were awaiting approval for their official cultivation rooms.

In addition to this, upper-class students and talented ones from other classes rented their own quiet cultivation rooms to practice in solitude, making diligent progress.

Drenched in sweat, Jack stopped after half an hour of practice to catch his breath, waiting for his Qi Blood to slowly recover.

Only then did his official practice start.

Listening to the shouting and the sounds of fists and legs ripping through the air, Jack held the handle of his knife in his right hand, with the blade resting diagonally across his body, his back straight.

At the same time, he relaxed his body and mind. With closed eyes, he directed all his focus onto the edge of the blade behind him.

He then amplified his senses, using the sharpness of the blade to stimulate them.

Mind’s Eye Bright Knife – The Light King acknowledges the external world while the Mind’s Eye focuses internally, training to reach a state called the Mind’s Eye. This was similar to a sixth sense that could help sense danger in advance.

The main aim was to evade the sneak attacks of sly mutated beasts within the forest.

Mutated Beasts – an official term for those mutated creatures, not just referring to large animals like lions or tigers.

Over the decades, some animals and insects had mutated into separate species, each obtaining odd capabilities. A sudden attack from them often caught cultivators off guard.

This was also the reason why Jack chose this sword technique. The prerequisite to amassing powerful strength was to survive.

However, despite the uniqueness of this sword technique, very few students chose to cultivate it. The reason was the high entry requirements, requiring a mental perception beyond ordinary people.

The reason Jack dared to cultivate this was not only because he considered his Mental Talent to be adequate but also due to the special attribute of proficiency fixed on his attribute page.

If he could successfully enter the Mind’s Eye state once, he would be able to enter it anytime and anywhere.

However…

By noon, Jack had been standing quietly for over two hours. He opened his eyes and let out a bitter smile. He had failed.

But this result was already within his expectations. He never thought he would be able to enter the Mind’s Eye state on his first attempt. If one attempt failed, he would try twice, thrice – he was in no hurry.

……”You guys, don’t practice martial arts all day, every day. You’re high school students, remember? The monthly exams are coming up next week, so take it seriously.”

“Even if some of you have good talent and will follow the path of martial cultivation in the future, that’s in the future. For now, at least this semester, you are still humanities students.”

On Friday, in Class 3’s classroom, James Clark stood at the lectern, speaking discontentedly.

All the students were present today, whether it was Jack Clark, Crystal Leinster or anyone else because everyone had received a notice from the class teacher yesterday and dared not be absent.

Despite their practice in True Martial, they still dared not neglect James Clark, their class teacher.

The reason was simple, their class teacher was very strong. As for just how strong, Jack didn’t know, but he had heard from Justin Welan.

“It’s been almost a month, right? Time flies so fast, right Jack?” During break, Justin Welch leaned against the chair and sighed.

Jack nodded slightly, “Indeed.”

He had been practicing True Martial for over a week. Every day he either practiced Dragon Elephant Power or sword skills. He even practiced again before he went to bed at night.

In such a busy and fulfilling situation, he could hardly feel the passage of time.

During this period, several classmates in the class continued to succeed in Foundation Establishment.

Unfortunately, the talents of these classmates indeed fell short. Only one person reached the First Layer Heaven during Foundation Establishment, the others were still struggling to cultivate.

Besides, there were still twenty-five students in the class who hadn’t established their foundation yet.

Some of these students had already given up, only a few were still unwilling to give up, hoping to break through in the last week. Their brows were filled with restlessness and urgency.

By contrast, the students who had broken through were more complaint, having lost the initial pressure.

Justin asked at this time: “Jack, tomorrow is Saturday, do you have any plans?”

“Any plans? Of course, to continue practicing.” Jack looked at him weirdly.

“I knew you would say that.”

Justin Welch held his forehead, “Jack, we’re high school students, and now that we’ve completed Foundation Establishment, there’s no need to lead a monk-like life.”

“Don’t you want to cherish your youth? Going shopping, watching movies and drinking milk tea together with a few beautiful girls on a day off?”

Having said that, Justin Welan gave Jack a wink. Not far away, the pure and beautiful Freya Louise was talking quietly with Vera Lee.

Obviously, Justin was suggesting Jack to ask Freya out tomorrow.

In his view, Jack was handsome and Freya was pure and beautiful, together with their good relationship in the class, they were a perfect match.

As a good friend, a good brother, he naturally wanted to try to bring them together.

Jack shook his head speechlessly at this: “No interest.”

What does a kid know about love? Don’t they know that everything in this world is fake, and only their own fists are real?

Of course, Jack is not a monk, he also likes to watch beauties, but he’ll probably consider these things after he becomes a strong man.

Puberty hasn’t hit him hard yet, thinking about these things is too early.

“No interest, Jack, you’re actually not interested in Freya Louise? Don’t tell me you…” Justin looked at Jack curiously, his eyes widened in disbelief, and he whispered,

“Don’t tell me you are into the class leader that cold woman!”

“…Likes your head, don’t run your mouth here. If these words get out it won’t be good.” Jack frowned slightly.

“Alright, I won’t joke anymore, Jack.” Noticing that Jack was getting a bit serious, Justin diverted the topic, this guy really only thinks about cultivation all day.

He thought about finding an opportunity to bring them together, but it seems that he was overthinking.
