Chapter 145 Father & Son

Chapter 145 Father & Son

After his battle with the mad god Jaldabaoth, Samael did not have even a single wound and carried on his business like nothing at all had happened.

He was only mildly annoyed by the damage that had been caused to his realm as a result of their conflict but that was quickly being repaired.

As such, Samael prepared to spend another millennium in leisure, entertained by the antics of his favorite grandchild through this strange connection they now shared.

The archangel could now understand why those sniveling humans spent so much time watching their televised devices.

Observing the adventures of another like this was all terribly entertaining.

"Is our sweet grandchild doing well?" Igrat asked as she rubbed his body and fed him another grape.

"He is... ?"

The Angel suddenly sat up in slight alarm when something strange happened.

The connection he shared with Abaddon suddenly... blipped?

It was as if his connection was momentarily highjacked before it was returned without any changes.

For a moment, Samael was completely blind.

"Did something happen?" his consort asked.

The king of hell did not know what to say.

It was such a brief moment it was almost unnoticeable but he had caught it all the same.

Samael was quite the paranoid man and something like this would definitely require investigating.

-

"Father?" Thea suddenly asked.

Her small voice made him realize that he\'d been staring at empty air while his father had been talking.

That strange message from the system had taken him completely by surprise.

Audrina seemingly mistook his hesitation for reluctance and assumed it was because she and Thea were still present.

"Thea and I are going to go and watch the battle from another angle. You two catch up while we\'re gone."

Before Abaddon could refuse or accept, Audrina had taken their daughter and flown up into the sky.

With no one else around, the two men sat on the ledge and overlooked the battle below.

To avoid drawing attention and distracting his wives and soldiers, Abaddon had erased his aura and presence.

Something that seemed not to matter since his father was able to sense him approaching immediately.

Abaddon took a quick survey of the battlefield.

Suffice it to say he was very surprised with what he saw.

At first glance, they deemed to have lost about 25% of their forces. However, his army was very clearly dominating the battlefield.

His wives in particular were frighteningly impressive. Lailah was sitting on top of a giant Apophis as he gorged himself on the flaming birds that had already fallen.

Abaddon wasn\'t sure if he was imagining it or not, but the snake appeared to have a dissatisfied expression on its scaly face.

Lisa and Mira were flying around each doing their best to clean up the last of the enemies from the sky.

Oddly enough Mira had ten demons following closely behind her, cheering her on and providing support when it was needed.

He wondered just what his youngest daughter could have done to have inspired such a fascination.

Evidently after so much time around her he had grown accustomed to her bloodthirst and forgotten just how mystifying she could be to outsiders.

His gaze soon drifted to Valerie who was standing on top of a mountain of dead phoenixes.

She was slightly out of breath, and she was covered in hot blood, but she did not appear to have any significant injuries.

He always pictured his dwarven wife to be more of a bar room brawler than an actual warrior yet here she was proving why she was not to be underestimated.

Last but not least, there was Bekka who shocked him more than any of the girls combined.

She looked quite different from her usual appearance but there was absolutely no mistaking it.

Standing proudly over the corpse of a fallen enemy was a chocolate skinned woman with long black hair.

Her muscles were lean and pulled taut so that every line and detail was extremely noticeable. The fur on her body looked to be soft enough to lull any weary soul into a blissful sleep upon contact.

The humorous light in her bright orange eyes made it clear that in this place filled with death and blood, she was right at home.

"She... evolved..." Abaddon muttered uncontrollably, the shock causing the words to simply fall right out of his mouth.

[Bekka Osa T*******]

"I take it you weren\'t expecting this?" Asmodeus asked.

"No...no, I wasn\'t." He slowly replied.

If you asked him what he was feeling in that moment, he would first say curiosity.

What did she have to do to achieve such a thing?

What was the secret that she\'d discovered that so many had failed to understand?

How strong had she become?

But more than anything else what Abaddon felt in that moment was pride.

His family was truly miraculous, and he always found himself surprised by what they might do next.

Since Asmodeus also knew what Bekka\'s conditions were, he understood how shocked his son must\'ve felt.

"She\'s quite remarkable."

"They all are." Abaddon corrected.

"Ha! Indeed."

Asmodeus already knew it but his son seemed to be quite the family man.

The two sat in silence for a moment longer before Asmodeus said the words on his heart.

"Thank you for freeing me."

"I did not do it for you." Abaddon said flatly.

He did not intend to be disrespectful but the fact of the matter was that he had no sort of feelings for his father.

The only reason he\'d bothered to save him was because he knew his mother needed him.

That seemed to be the only way for her to regain color within her life and become whole again.

But Abaddon\'s past made it so that he was not desperate for any fatherly affection.

How could he be when his human father was such a miserable sack of shit?

"I saw it you know." Asmodeus suddenly said.

"Saw what?"

"The way your human father treated you." He replied, his eyes containing bits of sadness mixed with another unknown emotion.

He suddenly leaned back and stared into the beautiful myriad sky that was shrouded with a bloody mist.

"You know your mother used to say she thought I would make a wonderful father, truth be told I never believed her.

I\'m assuming you met my old man already. You\'ve probably had more interaction with him than I have. Upon my birth, I was immediately trusted into my mother\'s care and my interaction with him was nonexistent. "

Abaddon said nothing and simply continued to listen, unsure of where Asmodeus was going with this.

"I had no idea what a father was supposed to be or what the duties of it entailed, to be honest I was rather terrified."

At this moment Asmodeus turned to his son and stared seriously into his eyes. "I might not have known how to be a father, but I know for sure I would\'ve never put you through such atrocities."

Abaddon was only briefly caught off guard before he regained his composure. "You consider me to be your son even though I have already told you the truth behind what I am?"

Asmodeus suddenly smirked, showing off a charm that was worthy of his former title of the embodiment of lust. "The way I see it, my boy is still inside you, correct?"

Abaddon didn\'t look comfortable being called someone\'s \'boy\' but he wanted to see where his father was going with this. "I cannot deny that."

"Then it\'s fine! The way I see it you have simply grown and matured, the way we are all meant to. The circumstances behind such a thing are really of no consequence." At the end of the day, Asmodeus would always consider Abaddon his son.

He just so happened to be fused together with a soul from another world is all.

Stranger things have happened, right?

The demon lord was... speechless.

The man opposite him was unlike anything he could\'ve expected.

Not only did he not seem to care that there was clearly something special about his origins, he also seemed more than ready to accept him.

"...You\'re quite different from your siblings."

"In what way?" Asmodeus asked cluelessly.

"You\'re strangely compassionate." Abaddon said. "Such a thing is not something that is usually related with demons, much less the seven sins. "

"Hahaha! You\'re right indeed!" The demon laughed, unable to refute this assessment.

"Let me tell you something, son. The sin shared between us makes it nigh impossible for us not to have a detailed understanding of the more tender aspects of life."

"As the sin of lust, our bodies are created to illicit desire, but there is much more to attraction than just that." He explained. "Kindness, humor, chivalry, our minds are expanded to understand all of them so that we may better seduce others. If you\'re going to lull someone into a beautiful dream, you may as well make it one they prefer over reality."

Abaddon\'s gaze became complicated and Asmodeus immediately understood his thinking. "Your heritage as a dragon makes it difficult to influence you mentally. You also have not held the sin for very long. It will be quite a while before you notice any changes in your mentality."

The dragon nodded silently, relieved that he was not somehow defective.

"ROOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!"

The two men were startled by the loud roars of the demons below, signaling the end of the battle.

At the center of the battlefield, Bekka and the rest of his wives were standing triumphantly as she held up the head of the enemy leader and basked in the cheers of the army.

He had to admit, in moments like this, he could not envision his wives to be any more beautiful.

Asmodeus looked behind him to see his son\'s bladed tail wagging furiously.

Even without access to his mind, it wasn\'t hard to tell what he was thinking.

\'This son of mine... He\'s surprisingly easy to read.\'
