Chapter 449 Teamwork

Chapter 449 Teamwork

Chapter 449 Teamwork

Were she not trying to burn the skin off of his face, Abaddon would have tried to take a picture of this monumental moment in his family history.

His oldest daughter\'s first breath attack!

\'I-I feel like you are thinking something really patronizing!\'

\'It\'s just your imagination, dear!\'

\'This isn\'t burning you at all, is it!?\'

\'No, but it is a very cute effort!\'

\'Damn it!\'

Suddenly, Abaddon vanished from his place in front of his daughter faster than her eyes could perceive.

Since he was the only thing holding up Apophis\' tail, the purple serpent ended up crushing his elder sister flat.

"A-Apophis!"

"Sorry!"

Just before the massive cobra could lift his tail off of his sister, Abddon reappeared standing right on top of him like a ghost.

His eyes narrowed as tapped his bare foot against their reflective material and furrowed his brows in disapproval.

\'Now that I\'m standing on him.. his scales are a bit more pale and soft than they should be. I wonder if...\'

Abddon ran up the length of his son\'s body so fast that his footprints caught fire.

When he reached Apophis\' head, he performed one simple kick to his son\'s jaw that sent his head snapping backward at an impossible angle.

"It is as I thought... you haven\'t been eating properly. I know what it\'s like to live as a newlywed, but you still should eat actual food at your age. Subsisting solely on sex will only yield magical benefits, not physical."

*Apophis can not hear his father at the moment because Abaddon\'s kick nearly realigned his cerebral cortex. But if he could, he would have been incredibly mortified.*

The giant serpent came crashing down to the ground with a loud thud, and Abaddon floated above his head with a compassionate look in his eye.

"I\'ll ask your mother to cook you something nice for dinner. What do you feel like? And don\'t say fried plantains again, that\'s not a meal."

"Ughhh..."

"Right, just get back to me after this."

""We\'ve got you!""

Abaddon looked up at the last moment and found his twin daughters rushing at him with both of their fangs bared.

Letting out a massive roar, their bodies literally became made of salty blue water as they barreled into their father with full force.

In the next second, Abaddon was swept up in a tidal wave made from his children\'s own bodies.

He contemplated freezing them as a means of escape, but was worried about just how much discomfort that would put them in.

In the milliseconds that he mellowed over this dilemma, he felt something bite into his left calf muscle.

Looking down, he found a single, monstrous piranha nibbling on his leg in what seemed like a vain attempt to get through his skin.

\'Where did you...?\'

In one second after another, more and more dramatic looking piranhas started to appear in the water with him.

In addition to sharks, orcas, saltwater crocs and just about every other man eating fish that one could imagine.

\'This is new... I wonder if my lovely Tati can do something like this too?\' he wondered briefly.

Instead of sticking around to really admire the underwater water world his daughters had created, Abaddon elected to vacate before a very hungry looking great white could bite his pretty face.

The shining red mark in the center of his chest sent out a pulse of powerful energy, and a massive explosion blew the entire lake\'s worth of water clear apart.

But Abaddon kept a watery orb in one of his hands that contained a piranha in it, because he found it to be somewhat cute.

"Circle up!"

At the behest of the eldest, all of the siblings recovered rather quickly and encircled their father with cautious, calculating looks.

Abaddon was the most surprised by Mira and Belloc.

Unlike the rest of his children who had already tried and failed to attack him, they alone had taken a step back and elected for a more thought out approach.

They spent the most time with their aunt Kanami, so he wondered if maybe she was having a passive effect on them.

"Give us our cover!"

At Thea\'s behest, Mira, Belloc, Apophis, and the twins started to glow with their own individual intensity.

What happened next was a storm unlike anything the world had ever seen.

A blizzard with snow so thick that it practically fell down in fistfuls.

A howling monsoon that only increased the hellish wind pressure that would be enough to reduce an entire state to rubble.

Dense, poisonous fog was mixed into the already dangerous storm.

To top it all off, small, dark spores emitting pure deathly energy were falling along with the rain and snow for what was surely the most dangerous storm ever imagined.

Using his eyes alone, it was difficult for even Abaddon to see two feet in front of him.

However, since ascending to godhood his spacial awareness was below none, in this reality or the next.

Whether he was suddenly blinded, deafened or dumb, he would still be able to see just as good as in the daytime.

*Clang!*

Looking over his shoulder, Abaddon smiled at a scaly version of his first daughter.

"There you are, Little Miss. Party wasn\'t as fun without you."

"Daddy is being condescending!"

"Never, never. Can I not be glad to play with my children for the day?"

"Not right now!"

"Okay, fine."

In the next second, more and more of Abaddon\'s children started to pop out of the storm.

Instead of waiting for them to come to him, Abaddon went on the offensive and started to engage with them on his own behalf.

Whether it was six arms, four, or two, the dragon never lost his grace no matter the amount of appendages he had.

Performing a corkscrew flip in the air, he knocked aside Apophis\' weapon with his kanabo and parried away Thea\'s claws in the same movement.

Yemaya briefly watched her father with wonder filled eyes.

There are some men who fight for the joy of hurting others.

There are also some who fight as a way to establish their own dominance and supremacy.

But Yemaya saw her father and realized that he was more like a ballerina than a warlord.

His movements were like timely honed routines with a beautiful rhythm and an underlying brutality born not necessarily from malevolence, but from heritage.

"A man chosen to wield life and death on the battlefield must be an artist, if he isn\'t, he is simply a murderer-"

Yemaja : "Stop quoting Shaka Zulu and help the rest of us beat this old man\'s ass!"

"R-Right, sorry!"

A vein bulged in Abaddon\'s forehead as he showed a smile that was not a smile.

"Old man, huh...? I don\'t think I much like being called that at all."

-

Asmodeus was back at home, sitting between both of his wives and playing chess with his first daughter Malenia.

All of a sudden, the dragon paused and smiled at the ceiling as if he\'d just heard some good news.

"Hm? What\'s wrong with you, you\'re losing?" Yara asked.

"I\'m not sure... for some reason, I just feel as if life has just come full circle."

"If you say so..." mela Checkmate."

"Shit."

-

Both Yemaya and Yemaja wield dark black tridents that look like rusty imitations of the weapon of a famous greek god.

They worked in synchronicity, one attacking from up high while the other went from below.

Abaddon had no choice but to contort his body awkwardly in an effort to avoid their combined teamwork.

Switching to only one leg and bending his body back at a ninety degree angle, he was able to sidestep both attacks from their tridents and swung two of his arms for a counterattack of his own.

He moved slow enough so that they would have plenty of time to block it, and light enough that it would only rattle their bones just a bit.

Even if he didn\'t like to be called old, he couldn\'t hurt his sweet and precious daughters now, could he?

At the same time, Belloc rushed at him from behind with his prized axe raised over his head.

Abaddon\'s tail seemed to move on it\'s own as it knocked the young man in the ribs, hard enough to send him tumbling away.

...He was a boy, he could take it.

Abaddon prepared to launch another offensive against more of his children when he suddenly paused.

Checking his body\'s internal condition, he was rather surprised at what he found.

Previously, Abaddon thought that this storm was an obscurity and enhancement technique.

But now, he realized that he may have overthought it a bit.

Mira and the twins grow stronger when submerged in certain environments, sure, but his kids HAD to have known that he would still be able to see them in this storm.

From the beginning, these wintery winds were an attack themselves and one that was surprisingly well thought out.

All of Abaddon\'s children are his by blood.

They come from him, as does their power.

In that sense, attacks from them are not always treated by Abaddon\'s body as a threat from outside that need to be counteracted.

With Abaddon breathing in the air so freely during this entire confrontation, quite a bit of their power had accumulated within him.

His lungs were beginning to freeze and develop icy crystals.

The pink flesh was starting to rot and decay like a moldy loaf of bread.

The chambers inside of his lungs were beginning to fill with water, drop by drop.

And the extremely toxic and corrosive poison in the air was acting as a mild numbing agent, preventing him from realizing anything was going wrong at all until the last second.

It was an attack that no one could have pulled off against him other than his own children, and even though it would not kill him, it was debilitating and thoughtful enough that it left him semi speechless.

\'Very clever, kids…Very clever indeed.\'
