Chapter 242: All Invaders Must Die!
Chapter 242: All Invaders Must Die!
This battle, from the beginning, was beyond his comprehension.
"So the title of disgraced princess was a ruse to hide her true strength!" Gu Baiyi realized, his heart torn.
"You\'ve realized too late!" With a swish of blood mist, the fiery figure of the War Princess suddenly appeared before Gu Baiyi! To her, his look of disbelief was immensely satisfying! This was the thrill of turning the tables!
"Now, let\'s see you act!" The War Princess sneered, thrusting out her palm.
Blood Demon Dragon Seal!
This blood art, which also incorporated the strength of her fleshly body, was more potent than Blood Sacrifice Dragon Breath. The War Princess had only grasped the concept of the technique before, never mastering it. But now, thanks to the Mortal Dust Devil Seed in her heart, she miraculously performed it without breaking a sweat!
BOOM! Her palm, fuelled by her Mortal Dust Devil Blood, conjured countless blood dragons, their roar shaking the Heavenly Realm, causing countless human cultivators to tremble!
"It\'s over!" Gu Baiyi and millions of human cultivators\' faces changed drastically!
With one palm and one seal, the War Princess transformed into a blood dragon, striking at Gu Baiyi\'s chest!
"NO!" Gu Baiyi screamed, fighting off the invasion of the Mortal Dust Devil Blood, thrusting his sword with all his might! He aimed not to defend but to strike at the War Princess\'s throat, intent on a mutual demise, forcing her to retreat for self-preservation!
"If I die, you die with me!" Gu Baiyi laughed coldly, his face twisted in madness.
"Heh..." The War Princess paid him no heed; her Blood Demon Dragon Seal struck Gu Baiyi\'s chest directly!
BOOM! Gu Baiyi\'s chest caved in, his back exploding into a mist of blood, only to be devoured by the Mortal Dust Devil Blood!
The Blood Demon Dragon\'s roar unleashed a towering mist of blood, obscuring the battlefield. To onlookers, the details were lost in the crimson haze; all they knew was that Gu Baiyi was being suppressed.
"You\'ll die too!" Gu Baiyi\'s eyes glinted ferociously as he gathered all his strength for one final sword strike.
HUM! Suddenly, an azure Flying Sword appeared from the side, striking Gu Baiyi\'s sword tip with a fierce blow!
Though not overwhelmingly powerful for Gu Baiyi, this collision at such a critical moment proved fatal. His final strike veered ever so slightly, missing the War Princess\'s neck by a hair\'s breadth.
And so, in this bid for mutual destruction, the only one destroyed was Gu Baiyi himself. He spat out blood, his eyes trembling as if sinking into a deep, drowning sea.
"Yun Xiao!" As his blood surged towards the War Princess, Gu Baiyi\'s eyes blazed with fury, turning towards the young man in white. "You, a Sword Cultivator, dare to help a devil slay your own kind!"
"Stop pretending, you knew all along about my deep connection with her," Yun Xiao replied coolly, clutching his returning Heaven Burial Sword Soul. "Even if we went to the Eternal Sword Prison together, you\'d scheme against me. I\'ve been through this plot once; repeating the same story is dull. So, I decided to eliminate you on sight, saving myself some tedious life experiences."
".." Gu Baiyi fell silent. Indeed, he had known in the underground palace about Yun Xiao\'s deep connection with the War Princess. He planned to capture her first, then lure Yun Xiao back to the Eternal Sword Prison, test his talents, and use him. But never in his wildest dreams did he expect to be taken down by this pair on the spot!
"Yun Xiao..." Gu Baiyi wanted to curse, something like \'You dance with devils, you won\'t die well,\' especially since others from the Eternal Sword Prison would soon arrive. But such mindless outbursts would only hasten his demise. So, he changed tack. "You misunderstand me. There may be a misunderstanding between us. I am willing to collaborate!"
"Spread the blood mist a bit more!" Yun Xiao rushed forward towards Gu Baiyi and then instructed the War Princess. She complied.
"You!" The obedient War Princess struck Gu Baiyi like lightning. Was Yun Xiao the leader? He could command this monstrous, defiant princess?
"Senior, the Demon and Divine Continents are my turf. I don\'t care who\'s behind you; anyone who invades here dies!"
Yun Xiao, having spoken, swung his Heaven Burial Sword Soul in a decisive slash.
THUD! Gu Baiyi\'s eyes widened as his head hit the ground.
Yun Xiao stabbed his sword into Gu Baiyi\'s sword bone, absorbing his Sword Soul.
The War Princess watched, her heart trembling despite her strength. She saw Yun Xiao\'s Sword Aura layers increase to 1100! Then, she saw him slip the new five Demon Heart Sword Rings onto his own Sword Soul.
"Aren\'t you afraid the people from Eternal Sword Prison will recognize you by these Sword Rings?" the War Princess asked, dumbfounded.
"This time it\'s different," Yun Xiao said, pocketing Gu Baiyi\'s loot. His eyes sparkled as he instructed, "Clear the blood mist now, and remember to chase after me."
"Huh?" The War Princess was startled.
Just as she cleared the mist, Yun Xiao embraced Gu Baiyi\'s corpse, crying out, "Master!"
The cultivators of the Heavenly Realm finally saw the scene clearly, shocked.
"Shameless devil, in this life, I will never coexist with you!" Yun Xiao glared at the War Princess, then turned and flew away on his Sovereign Sword.
"Don\'t go!" The War Princess paused, then furiously chased after him. And so, a man and a devil disappeared from the public eye.
Leaving behind Gu Baiyi\'s lifeless body, it crashed against the gate of the Heavenly Realm, shattering to pieces.
Millions of human cultivators were stunned.
"What just happened?" Zhao Xuanjian gaped.
"Let me sort this out," the Supreme Marshal said, his mind in a whirl. "Yun Xiao and the devil teamed up. The devil, from another world, wanted to profit from the conflict between humans and demons. After the demons fled, the devil and Yun Xiao had to settle their score. Yun Xiao had a master to back him up, but to think, even his master was killed by the devil. So, he had to flee..."
Everyone looked grim.
"Demons gone, devils arrive! This she-devil is too strong!" Sword Saint Sun, gazing at Gu Baiyi\'s bloodstains, shook his head in sorrow. "The guardian Sword God is dead! Our human race faces great hardship. What do we do now?"
The crowd was downcast.
The Supreme Marshal took a deep breath, "We keep guarding. Then, we can only pray that Yun Xiao survives."
Could he survive when even Gu Baiyi fell to the devil? Everyone was distressed.
"It\'s okay, we still have the Empress, and the Primordial Array..." The Supreme Marshal reassured. Though, his mind was a mess. "Damn, why do I feel like something\'s off?"
What exactly happened today?
Above the clouds, Yun Xiao soared through the skies on his Sovereign Sword!
The War Princess stood on the sword, dutifully supporting his waist, her head slightly bowed. She was both entranced by her newfound terrifying power and in awe of Yun Xiao\'s imposing presence. To her, this man was a capricious monster.
"So, you\'re saying the Demon Continent might be the fabled Heavenly Land from your tales? Whoever controls it could dominate the Nine Hells?" Yun Xiao asked, gazing at the cold, violet land ahead.
"It\'s just a guess, but it\'s certainly a possibility," the War Princess replied.
"This Demon Continent is mine for the taking... let them all come and try," Yun Xiao\'s eyes gleamed coldly.
"Why cling to this land when it\'s useless to you? You\'re just one man. Why not give it to me, the Endless Netherworld...?" The War Princess started to say but stopped abruptly, meeting Yun Xiao\'s icy stare. She quickly lowered her head, correcting herself, "Never mind, it\'s all yours. Whoever tries to take it, dies."
Yun Xiao, satisfied, commanded gravely, "We split up. You head to the entrance of the Endless Netherworld, and I\'ll find the entrance to the Eternal Sword Prison. Follow my orders from here on."
"Right!" The War Princess looked at him, slightly worried. "The next wave of attackers will be stronger than you, with more advanced cultivation. Are you sure you want to go alone? Don\'t you need my protection?"
"Go with you? You\'re supposed to be my sworn enemy. Don\'t mess up the act. A great villainess needs to maintain their style, understand?" Yun Xiao instructed.
"Style?" The War Princess was bewildered in the wind.
As the two were speaking, they reached the Demon Continent. It was Yun Xiao\'s first time setting foot on this vast land. Inside the ancient bronze coffin within him, the Prison Warden Primordial Coffin trembled violently. Even the Heaven Burial Sword Soul in his hand felt a chilling sensation, as if facing a formidable enemy.
BUZZ! Moon Fairy emerged from Yun Xiao\'s body and, without a word, sped away.
"What\'s your body double up to?" the War Princess asked.
"He\'s seizing the opportunity to control as much of the Demon Continent as possible," Yun Xiao said nonchalantly. Moreover, with Moon Fairy\'s essence in him, he bore the trace of a demon, making it risky for him to meet the Sword Cultivators of the Eternal Sword Prison.
Yun Xiao, able to communicate with the War Princess through the Mortal Dust Devil Seed, wasted no more words. He swiftly rode his Sovereign Sword through the skies of the Demon Continent, searching for the entrance to the Eternal Sword Prison.
Fortune appeared to smile on him. Half a day later, Yun Xiao came across a spatial vortex from the damaged world barrier, unmistakably the entrance he sought. He lingered at the entrance, steadying his emotions.
Just then, several sword lights pierced through the portal, transforming into figures wreathed in sword energy, landing right before Yun Xiao!
"Yun Xiao, disciple of Gu Baiyi, greets the elders!" Yun Xiao approached them, his eyes already rubbed red.
"A disciple of Gu Baiyi?" A white-browed elder gave Yun Xiao a curious glance. "I\'ve never heard of him taking a male disciple."
Not taking male disciples? Indeed, Gu Baiyi was no saint!
Yun Xiao calmly explained, "Elders, I am a native of this land. Master made an exception for me because I could hang five Sword Rings on my sword. But..." His voice trailed off, laced with sorrow.
"But what?" the elder with white brows inquired. Five Sword Rings? His gaze shifted, now filled with admiration.
"But half a day ago, Master fell in battle against a devil of the Endless Netherworld. He perished in front of everyone!" Yun Xiao said, distressed.
"What!" The figures, each exuding a terrifying presence, changed their expressions in shock.
"The devils from the Endless Netherworld have entered too?"
"They must have recognized the Heavenly Land!"
The white-browed elder\'s eyes hardened, then asked Yun Xiao, "Are you certain Gu Baiyi is dead?"
"Absolutely," Yun Xiao affirmed, drawing his Sword Soul and pointing to the five Sword Rings. "Before his death, Master escaped to my side and personally passed these five Sword Rings onto me..."
The elder sighed deeply, accepting this grim reality.
"It seems he had high hopes for you." The elder patted Yun Xiao\'s shoulder. "Since he entrusted you with something so precious, we hope you\'ll rise to the occasion. You\'ll join us from now on. We are new here and will need you to guide us through this realm."
"For the lineage of Sword Cultivators, I shall spare no effort!" Yun Xiao declared.
"Good!" The elder chuckled coldly. "Devils, is it? They dare to challenge the might of our flourishing Sword Dao. They\'re on a path to their own destruction!"
Yun Xiao nodded, "Indeed, a path to their own destruction."
