Chapter 150: | 150 | A What?
Working in his office for hours had made him forget the pleasantness of his home. It made him wonder when he and Laplace would spend their time together in their home once again. Though, sadly... Such times were far from reachable. As long as the Colonial Dominion of Terra existed.
Abraham\'s smile faded as he opened the door. Silence and calm shrouded the entirety of his being, bringing forth an unnatural solace. If possible, he would like to have his home to become livelier than ever before. \'How satisfying would that be.\'
He closed the front door of his house and opened its interior lights. He glanced at the kitchen and remembered the talk he and Laplace had. It brought them closer to one another and confess their love.
\'*Sigh...* It hasn\'t been that long. Why am I already feeling nostalgia?\' Abraham shook his head and took off his shoes before stepping into its hardwood floor. In his former life, he never had a house of his own. Only a single room that was as dirty as a landfill.
So, having one for his own was something he appreciated. That was why he always maintained the clean state of this house. After all, it was his home.
He stretched his limbs and sat on the sofa. He gazed forward seeing a 60-inch OLED television before him. He never really had a chance to use a tv since his transmigration since he had been too focused with his duties as the fleet admiral.
But... It wasn\'t like he didn\'t have jobs to do at the moment. There were still several things he needed to do because of the upgraded Port of Dawn. Oh, why was he giving himself more jobs to do? He shouldn\'t have been too hasty with the upgrade.
"It\'s already too late regretting it. What\'s done, had already been done." He mumbled to himself, picking up the remote along the way. He stared at it for a second and thought. \'I wonder what kind of channels we have. It should only be news channels, right?\'
\'After all, the television-side of the Port of Dawn shouldn\'t be that developed. I haven\'t even heard of it until now.\' Abraham first wondered about the channels in the TV then realized about the broadcasting stations related to it.
He had come to know that he was entirely ignorant about them. But it might also be because he hadn\'t given them much attention as their importance didn\'t resonate with him. Though... A report or two might change that.
Abraham turned on the television and saw a cartoon playing in the television. It was a cartoon about some cat and two cockroaches. Interesting, to say the least. He remembered seeing this cartoon when he was a child, but perhaps he had forgotten somethings about it.
After all, he was confident that there were three cockroaches in the kitchen.
\'Wait, why am I even thinking about this?\' He shook his head and got rid of such thoughtless questions. He changed the channel in front of him and finally, a news channel came up.
24 Hours, eh? Interesting name. Abraham wondered if the channel was open for an entire 24 hours reporting news. That sounds impossible without repeating a news or two during the broadcast. So, it might be them reporting about the news this last 24 hours.
"When did we get a news channel in the Port of Dawn? I haven\'t heard much about this? Though, it makes sense as our population had increased to over 30,000 when all of our populace are included." Abraham raised his eyebrows, but decided to accept it as it was.
*Our next news for today is the summoning of two new warships under the grand fleet of the United Navy. These mighty vessels are the UNS Orion Deep, a Nuclear Attack Submarine. And, UNS Ceaseless Skies, an Advanced Air Ship!*
*With them in our fleet, the citizens of the United Navy can expect to sleep peaceful nights for their presences guarantees safety and protection to the Port of Dawn. The Fleet Admiral has specifically summoned them as he understands that our greatest weaknesses are the depths and the heavens.*
*As expected of his unparalleled wisdom, let us start with another marathon about his legends in the sea-*
Abraham turned off the television and sighed. While the news were great, why did it start talking about him all of a sudden? It was difficult to get use when some person discusses about him as though he was some kind of celebrity of some sort.
"At any rate, I should start the Random Spin." His nonchalant gaze became determined as he didn\'t want to waste more time thinking about it. It was time to spin for his first Sea-Based Asset other than the Port of Dawn.
"I hope that it would be a port. This would significantly expand the capabilities, logistics, and influence of the United Navy." Abraham muttered to himself while closing his eyelids. He took a deep breath and relaxed his head onto the sofa.
\'Systema, purchase a Random Sea-Based Assets Spin for me, please.\' After clearing his thoughts, he swiftly asked through his mind. A mechanical bell bellowed and a monotone voice followed it.
*Ding!*
| Purchasing Random Sea-Based Assets Spin! |
Out of nowhere, a gacha roulette appeared in front of him. It gleamed with golden radiance and levitated before his body. A lever was beside it as if asking him to pull.
Abraham gulped as this was his first time actually pulling a lever from a gacha roulette. It made him nervous for some reason. It felt as if he really was gambling in some casino that was the Naval Gacha System.
He placed his hands on the lever and felt its smoothness. He gripped it tightly and pulled as hard as he could. Even though it didn\'t affect his reward, or luck for that matter. It still sent a message about how this spin mattered to him.
\'I hope that it would be useful. Please give me a port. I don\'t care if its trash, just give me a port.\' Abraham thought since ports could be upgraded. It would be easy to make it completely operational in a short period of time.
The gacha roulette began trembling as the names inside it rapidly spun with untamed speed. Abraham gazed at it, his attention fully enraptured by its blurry and passing names. He hoped for something good. A port. It was all what he needed.
Abraham watched as the gacha roulette kept spinning in front of him. He stared at it with scrutiny, not wanting to take his eyes off it. After all, who knows what could happen. He didn\'t dare to test it. At the very least, he would know what he would get in its conclusion.
It didn\'t take long before the gacha roulette slowed down. There was no notification, it simply slowly stopped. It was rather strange, but it might have been because the Random Sea-Based Asset Spin was entirely different from the Random Naval Spin.
Abraham squinted his eyes, looking at the name left behind by the rapid spinning of the roulette. A mechanical bell rang inside his mind, while a notification followed.
*Ding!*
| Congratulations, You have received Level 3 Construction Yard! |
"A what?" Abraham found himself confused. His expectations were entirely pointed at the appearance of a port, which he could use to expand the reach of the United Navy farther into the sea. He didn\'t expect for something else to appear.
\'Wait, am I becoming spoiled with the system?\' He wondered since he had gotten all the things he desired from the gacha. Though, perhaps this might not be as bad as he had expected. After all, the things that the Naval Gacha System gives were always far from useless.
However, to understand its usefulness, Abraham needed more information. So he decided to rely on his precious partner, who might be able to explain the Sea-Based Asset he had gained from the spin.
\'Systema, what does a Construction Yard do? Give me detailed explanation about it.\' He questioned, which Systema promptly replied with her monotone voice.
| Fleet Admiral, the Construction Yard is a vital part of the United Navy\'s growth and expansion. It is connected to one thing, and that is the warships. With the Construction Yard, the Fleet Admiral will be able to build his own warships with a quarter of the price in the Naval Store. |
Hearing the explanation of Systema, Abraham felt his doubts cleansed. The edges of his lips immediately rose as he had unexpectedly gotten a treasure from random spin. He didn\'t think he would be this lucky.
"A level 3, at that? Hehehehe, it seems that the end of this conflict is near." He was beyond satisfied from the reward he had received from the system. A Construction Yard would guarantee the growth of his fleet without the expensiveness of the Naval Store.
With it around, there was only one way for the United Navy.
And that was towards the apex of the sea.
