Chapter 98: Death Is not The End In Labyrinth Tower
Five rapid circular flame blades shot toward Erix as the Molten Chimera flapped its wings, but Erix quickly dodged them while flying forward.
The monster\'s speed was nothing to scoff at, but it was big and not as evasive as Erix\'s.
But this was one of the rare monsters who could use defense barrier skill as it blocked Erix\'s Crimson Blood Flare attack.
*Roar!*
The monster opened its mouth and unleashed a black sphere with magma vein patterns as it condensed a great deal of explosive flame power and magma energy.
The barrier around it vanished before the monster hurled the attack towards Erix, who dodged since having seen it coming and released a max-powered shot of Amberros Death by consuming 600 Undead energy.
The attack dealt moderate damage but reduced Chimera\'s defense as the part below its neck where the attack hit started to decay.
Erix then flew with precise maneuvering while dodging attacks and got close to it before launching a Whirling Punch at the decayed area while consuming 100-mana Imposing Fist!
*Crrrraaa!*
-2850!
Erix quickly punched several times using normal fist attacks, while the monster was shot upward with Erix\'s punch.
And when he unleashed another Whirling Punch, he dealt 3480 damage!
\'What?!\'
However, Erix grinned shortly after discovering why he dealt more damage the second time.
It was the Whirling Punch\'s effect!
That potent and destructive vortex of Whirling Punch also actually shredded defensive scales from the monster, reducing its defense further!
\'So this punch can also reduce physical defense, great!\'
Erix leisurely dodged the attack as his perception had skyrocketed with Aura Perception, and he successfully killed the Molten Chimera shortly.
\'Big monsters like these are not a threat to me anymore,\' Erix thought with a smile as he heard the notification of killing the beast and leveling up to 79.
Since there were many monsters here above level 80, Erix had leveled up to 78 in the past hour and reached 79 directly after killing Molten Chimera.
Of course, Kenshin and Sameira had already reached level 80, and their stats had started increasing again.
\'So this Chimera gave me a whole consumable crate? Nice.\'
Erix opened the crate and got 2x Mana recovery potions, 2x Healing Potions, and 2x Flame Resistance Potions.
Afterward, he headed deeper into the volcanic region to continue battling.
\'I will get my concept today, and that\'s decided.\'
…
Although Erix, Rin, and others were doing good so far, they couldn\'t be said for some people.
Many people had died at the hands of Abyss Servants, but only they knew what happened to them after dying because…they did not exactly die!
Khalil from TreeBug Guild, the one from TreeBug resort, was with Yagun Mubei of Black Swan Guild, and they were in imminent peril.
Two of them didn\'t have mana or healing potions, were injured with less than half of their Vitality Remaining, and their class energy pool was also emptied.
And…they were chased by five Abyss Servants!
\'No, no, no, no….\' Khalil ran, his heart beating its fastest as he tried pumping all his power to run.
\'I can\'t die here. My wife and kid are waiting; I can\'t die here!\'
On the other hand, Yagun Mubei was simply running, and his speed was faster than Khalil\'s.
He glanced at Khalil and narrowed his eyes before muttering, "So, this is where we part."
After muttering, Mubei abruptly paused for a bit while his legs pumped, turned red, protruded veins, and unleashed a powerful force as he shot up in the sky, jumping over a kilometer distance as he changed his direction of escape.
Two Abyss Servants followed him, but the other three stayed behind Khalil.
\'Damn it!\' Khail was internally cursing while a flicker of despair manifested in his eyes.
He was low on stamina, and three Abyss Servants were behind him…
\'I am dead…\'
His left leg slightly trembled when he jumped from a tree to the west direction, causing him to lose balance and momentum as he crashed into a boulder.
Khalil\'s mind went blank. \'No…\'
A second later, an intense pain blooded his being before darkness enveloped his consciousness.
He died.
But not really.
[As you have died on the first floor of a Labyrinth Tower, you will be plunged into the Abyss Realm, losing all of your powers and starting from level 0 but retaining skills, concepts, and affinities you have learned, comprehended, and awakened.]
[If you die in the Abyss Realm, you will truly die. But if you survive, reach level 201, and manage to enter a Cosmic Faction, you can return to your native world.]
Khalil heard the notification, shocked. The darkness resided from his consciousness as he opened his eyes and found himself under a black tree shining purple under two dark purple and two blue moons, wearing nothing but a simple white tunic and a pair of brown trousers.
"I am alive…" Khalil touched his body and slapped his cheek to check if he was not dreaming before tears streamed through his eyes.
He clenched his fists, his teary eyes red and determined. \'I will return!\'
Many shared the same fate as Khalil, but nobody outside knew they would get a chance if they died inside Labyrinth Tower.
…
In the sky, a couple of kilometers away from Yorik Kingdom.
"Boss, that city is so fucking cool!" Ronaldo said, his eyes wide and amazed as he looked at the kingdom with big buildings and magic technology.
"Indeed. It looks like we\'ve arrived at our destination," Kaflan nodded as he grunted and flexed his muscles with a pose. "Let\'s make this our base for now and complete the tasks."
"Boss, you should do something about that weird talent," Rolando rolled his eyes. "You can\'t just pose in front of these people. They will think you are a weirdo."
Kalfa snorted, wearing nothing but a dark pink vest and black pants as he gave Front Double Bicep Pose.
"They shall know the greatness of my muscles," he said while looking at the notification.
[Pose executed successfully. You have gained +10% strength for 10 minutes.]
