Vol. 9 - Chapter 447 - ‹Eden› facilitator? We do have one. Wait, do we?

"I see, and by quest you mean...?"

Maria fired her slew of queries as we---basically Hannah, me and her---were on our way to ‹Eden› guild room. I guess she must have wanted to know more about her duties as sub-accountant and item handler.

"It\'s asking ‹Collection Department› basically. Though, most of time, the request are for ‹High Mana Grass›. There\'s never enough of them in ‹Eden›."

Maria nodded and wrote down everything on her memo pad---correction, she was writing it down while keeping up with pace. Talk about being resourceful!

Anyway, as Hannah said, ‹High Mana Grass›---or the ‹MP High Potion› that utilize them in production were extensively used in our guild. Honestly, the number of potion consumed was already at the level that a dedicated group just to farm them would be much required.

In the game, all you needed to do was buy and be done. Well, the amount I used to purchase was just...incomparable to say the least. So I used to make rounds around the ‹Collection Department› guild or ‹Pharmacist› guild.

Reality came with its own con as well. The purchase limit that was not in the game however applies in reality. After all, the always available limitless inventory in the game could never be limitless in reality. In short, we couldn\'t simply buy the whole stock. There were also the side-effects of hoarding a lot of them in reality.

The recent incident was a fine example of what would happen in such a scenario. A certain guild had purchased and hoarded a lot too ‹High Potion› that it created an academy-wide supply issue, which obstructed a lot of student\'s dungeon exploration.

Fortunately, Hannah had burst forth with her ultimate form and resolved the issue in a jiffy. But that was an isolated exception. You couldn\'t expect such grave matter to be solved magically.

It\'s not in my gamer\'s code of conduct to recreate the same chaos when there\'s already precendent for what happens when you disturb the equilibrium. I would like to be called a resourceful one, rather than a deceitful gamer.

So we played by the academy\'s rules and, as Hannah mentioned, put up a quest out there to solve the headache for us. This was how we were saving the materials for ‹MP High Potion›.

By the way, the quest was a permanent standing one accepted by a group of seniors---that we get know through ‹Farmer› Mona  whom I had met when I was confused about which elective class to choose---from ‹Collection Department›, since it earned them quite a nice amount of money. We received a huge amount of materials every day.

For the ‹Collection Department› folks, this should be like a nice part-time job they could undertake in summer vacation.

We were paying via QP. I know it was  a bit of an expensive method but a scratch on wallet was a cinch compared to no advancement in dungeon attack.

"Excuse me, do you mind if we stop by the ‹Variety Firm› before returning to the guild room? It\'s just nearby."

"My, that\'s a nice proposal! I surely would not mind."

"Of course. I was also planning to visit it later."

Hannah suggested and we shifted our course to visit the ‹Variety Firm› first. Its full name was ‹Buy and Sell Anything Firm› and aside from purchase, it was also a counter window for delivery quests.

I decided to tag along after them.

"What a pleasant surprise, welcome to our humble firm, Hannah-sama! Are you here to look for a quest? We have plenty lined up to take on."

"S-Sheesh, Merina-senpai. I have told you please don\'t add \'-sama\' in my name."

We had just reached the ‹Variety Firm› and were about to visit the counter window when a sudden voice greeted Hannah.

The speaker was 2nd year Melina-senpai. We first met when Hannah and I were here to sell the material of ‹Beginner Dungeon›. She had been kind of like our dedicated facilitator since then.

Since she\'s also someone managing the work here, it saves our time with streamlined procedures. Honestly, it saves us from hassle.

But \'-sama\' huh? Hmm, I guess I couldn\'t say I don\'t care where it comes from, considering the one who had been in deep water more than anyone during the potion crisis was them.

"Hello there, Melina-senpai. Are you heading out?"

It was rare to meet her right at the entrance, so I asked.

"Ohh, it\'s been a while, Zephyr-kun! More than heading out, I just got back from having lunch. You\'re here at perfect timing, Come with me to No.21 counter, I will handle the stuff there."

I see, so our entrance just happened to clash with her break over timing. Speaking of her, it\'s purely due to her respect for Hannah that she calls her with honorifics, unlike the casual conversation with me. Though for Hannah herself, she would rather have candid conversation like they used to. A pity that it\'s not bound to happen with the curse of heavy gratitude.

We arrived at the No.21 counter where Melina-senpai swiftly assumed the duty and went through the procedure within a heartbeat. I introduced our ‹Helper› Maria to her, who would now be coming here to handle the task than us.

"There\'s someone we want to introduce, Senpai. She\'s Marianne who has recently joined ‹Eden› as ‹Helper›."

"Nice to meet you, I am Marianne who is going to handle accounting and item management for ‹Eden›! It would be wonderful if I can have your support to show me the ropes!"

"I\'m Melina, one who is in charge of sorting ‹Eden› and Arc-Arcadia tasks. Sure, feel free to ask me for anything anytime."

Wait a minute, I think I just heard something important. So she was not just \'like a dedicated facilitator\' but actually a \'dedicated facilitator\' for our guilds?

Honestly, I was kinda amazed that why come I only realized that now. I was also amazed by Hannah\'s un-amazed expression, as if she already was aware of it. Then another amazing thing was Maria also was using polite language in her introduction as if saying hello to our business partner.

Leaving aside my confusion, Maria and Melia-senpai went  through the procedure.

"We have a total of 1220 ‹High Mana Grass› gathered as of now. The price has been deduced from the QP we had received. This is the receipt detailing everything."

"Thank you very much! The amount has truly exceeded my expectation."

"It\'s summer vacation after all, so students have free time for dungeons. I guess that\'s what they say, all that\'s lacking is time for the gain?"

"Indeed, the time available does make a difference. Still, is ‹Eden› in so much need for them?"

"This is far from enough."

"Yeah, not even a fraction."

Hannah and I were both one in heart at that moment and nodded. Then we looked at each other and nodded again. We were always in need of them, and given the available time, heck that amount would simply be reduced to nothing in just a few days.

Maria was taken aback hearing our words, and then hurriedly jolted down that on her memo-pad.  I could hear her \'note-note...\' murmur coming out of her mouth.

She has one passionate spirit for study for sure, right?
