Chapter 164: 164: Guilty Conscience
“Now?” Qin Youxuan frowned, hesitant.
Dan Hanjie hadn’t come back yet. If she left first, who knew how he might react.
Thinking of Dan Hanjie’s unpredictable temper, Qin Youxuan bit her lip, “I have something to attend to today, let’s do it another day, I’ll call you later.”
“Xuan, are you avoiding me?” Meng Ziqi’s voice contained a mix of confusion and disappointment.
“No, I’m not. I really have something today,” Qin Youxuan earnestly replied.
She really did have something to deal with, pacifying the Big Devil was no small task!
If she ran away today, she was sure the ensuing days of healing would surely be worse!
“Alright then, I’ll be waiting for your call.” Meng Ziqi reluctantly hung up after a few more polite words.
“Phew”
Qin Youxuan let out a long sigh of relief.
“Who are you talking to on the phone? You look guilty!”
“Ah”
Qin Youxuan jumped in surprise, quickly turning around to see Dan Hanjie striding towards her. Her eyes widened in shock as she clutched her phone tightly to her chest.
“When did you come in? You didn’t make any noise while walking!”
“I make plenty of noise when I walk, it’s just that your mind is too distracted to notice!” Dan Hanjie’s tall figure stepped in front of Qin Youxuan and effortlessly plucked the phone from her grasp.
With a swipe of his finger, he was scrolling through her call history.
“What are you doing, that’s my privacy! How could you casually go through my phone!” Qin Youxuan yelled, trying to snatch her phone back but was unfortunately too short, and had to watch as Dan Hanjie casually set her phone aside after browsing through it.
“I’ve already freely seen all of you, what’s wrong with checking your phone?” Dan Hanjie confirmed the call log belonged to a woman. He looked down at the indignant expression on Qin Youxuan’s face, lifting her chin with his finger.
Qin Youxuan was left speechless.
Fuck your casually checking!
Qin Youxuan clutched her phone tightly, batting her eyes at him, “Have you finished your meeting? Can we go eat now?”
So hungry…
Eating was the most important thing of all.
Pissing the Big Devil off now would mean going hungry, which was obviously irrational.
You needed to eat to gain strength for the battle. She reminded herself: Endure!
“Hungry?” Dan Hanjie ran his fingers over her smooth chin, as though caressing a priceless porcelain piece, reluctant to let go.
“Mm.” Qin Youxuan wished she could swat his hand away, but eventually she just pursed her lips and gave a small nod.
“Let’s go, I’ll take you to eat something tasty.” Dan Hanjie’s hand slid down to her’s. With Secretary Chen’s astonished gaze on them, he pulled Qin Youxuan out of the CEO’s office.
“Dan Hanjie, slow down, I can’t keep up with you!” Qin Youxuan panted, trying to catch up to him.
She wanted to rest, but she couldn’t because her hand was trapped by Dan Hanjie. She had no choice but to keep up with his pace.
By the time they walked a certain distance, she was almost out of breath!
“Short legs.” Dan Hanjie halted his stride. Qin Youxuan, unprepared, ran into his tall frame and seeing stars.
She held her nose, before she could complain about the pain inflicted by the collision, she heard his distaste. She looked down at her own well-proportioned, fair legs.
