Chapter 549: Scared to Death

Chapter 549: Scared to Death

Following the instructions of the Tropius, Yuga gently laid the Miracle Seed onto the Pokémon egg. He then witnessed the Tropius opening its mouth and emitting a green light, transferring all of its Grass-type energy into the Miracle Seed.

Soon after, Yuga witnessed a miraculous scene unfold.

The green Miracle Seed, nurtured by the Tropius, gradually cracked and sprouted. A tender green shoot emerged, extending its leaves as it grew.

Once the seed had fully sprouted, its roots embedded themselves into the cracked Pokémon egg. As the entire egg was enveloped by the lush roots, Yuga noticed that the egg started to emit a radiant light.

Was it about to hatch?

Yuga was deeply astonished.

The Miracle Seed had not only revived the almost lifeless egg but also caused it to hatch directly.

"Turtwig."

As the white light dissipated from the egg, a small Grass-type Turtwig appeared.

It was a Turtwig!

Yuga hadn't expected the Tropius's offspring to be a Grass-type starter Turtwig from the Sinnoh region. This suggested that the Tropius's other half might be a Grotle or a Torterra.

But they were in the Unova region. Why was a Sinnoh starter here? Yuga found this very surprising.

However, after some thought, Yuga accepted it. This place must have existed since ancient times, and who knew what had happened back then.

The newly born Turtwig gazed at its heavily injured mother, clearly aware that something had happened to her.

The Tropius gently nudged its newborn child with its head, affectionately.

Due to using all its energy to stimulate the Miracle Seed's growth, the Tropius became even weaker and gradually lost the light in its eyes.

This Turtwig had some differences in appearance compared to a typical one.

Firstly, the color of its skin was deeper green than usual. In regular Turtwig, the skin beneath the shell is light green, but this one was dark green.

Secondly, the sprout on its head was distinct. In ordinary Turtwig, the sprout is a small twig with two symmetrical leaves. However, this Turtwig's head sprout was a tiny sapling, clearly the same one that had grown from the Miracle Seed.

The miraculous seedling had directly integrated with the Turtwig, forming a symbiotic relationship.

"Tropius, Tropius, Tropius, Tropius."

Please take care of my child. After I die, please bury me together with my husband.

It turned out that the Tropius's husband, a Torterra, had also recently passed away due to an accident. It was this accident that had caused cracks to appear in the Turtwig's Pokémon egg. Now, the Grotle's body lay hidden behind the nest.

Yuga hadn't expected the deep affection between the Tropius and its husband, even in death. He nodded in admiration and agreed to its request.

The Tropius closed its eyes in peace.

"Turtwig, Turtwig."

With its mother's passing, the Turtwig whimpered softly, tears streaming down its cheeks.

Yuga gently picked up the Turtwig and comforted it, saying, "We'll bury your mother and father together so they can rest in peace. They would want you to live on safely."

The Turtwig sniffled and wiped its tears and mucus onto Yuga's face, looking incredibly pitiful.

Behind the Tropius's nest, Yuga easily found the body of the Turtwig's father.

It was also a peak Pseudo-Elite level Pokémon. Its demise was as tragic as the Tropius's, with the tree on its shell now reduced to a thick branch.

Due to the Tropius's hasty departure, it hadn't had the chance to explain the events to Yuga. Consequently, Yuga remained unaware of what had transpired with the Torterra.

After burying the Tropius and Torterra side by side near their nest, Yuga reluctantly left the area. He realized that he couldn't afford to linger in one place for too long.

Shortly after leaving the Tropius's nest, darkness began to fall. Yuga decided to find a safe place to spend the night.

In this underground world, abandoned caves were plentiful. Guided by Chatot, Yuga easily located a temporary shelter.

The cave was remarkably spacious, indicating that it had once belonged to a large Pokémon. Scattered bones on the cave floor suggested that its previous occupant had been a carnivorous Pokémon.

Due to the loss of its parents, the Turtwig wasn't in a good mood. Yuga hadn't rushed to put it into its Poké Ball, but choosing to carry it and comfort its emotions throughout their journey.

This newborn Turtwig was incredibly small, only slightly larger than Yuga's palm, making it easy for him to carry.

After feeding the Turtwig some Pokéblocks, Yuga managed to lull it to sleep. Although Pokémon possessed innate abilities from birth, the day's events had taken a toll on the young Turtwig, not only physically but also emotionally.

Once the Turtwig was peacefully asleep, Yuga released his Kabutops, allowing Florges and Chimecho to treat its injuries once more and administer medication.

After a day of rest, Kabutops, while not fit for strenuous activity, could now sit up and eat by itself. Its recovery was progressing well.

During the night, Yuga had the Litwicks in Shadow Space come out to guard the cave entrance. Being Ghost-type Pokémon, they naturally preferred the darkness and had no qualms about keeping watch.

In the primeval forest, the Litwicks stood in a row, their blue flames casting an eerie glow. It sent shivers down Yuga's spine.

In the middle of the night, Yuga woke up groggily, noticing the flickering candlelight flames at the cave entrance. For a moment, he had forgotten about the Litwicks and was frightened. As he recalled their presence, he realized he was quite urgent.

He had been "scared to death to the point he want to peeing," Yuga couldn't help but jest at himself.

Rubbing his eyes, Yuga got up, intending to step outside for a moment. The Litwicks greeted him enthusiastically as they followed him, eager to protect him.

Originally, Yuga had considered declining their assistance, fearing that he wouldn't be able to urinate with so many little beings following him. However, given the dangerous nature of this underground world, he decided to let them accompany him.

While he didn't believe that he would encounter any misfortune just while going for a bathroom break, it was better to be cautious. "Better safe than sorry," as the saying goes.

Although Yuga didn't consider himself an unlucky person, misfortunes had a way of finding him.

As he finished his business and returned to the cave, he noticed a dark figure slowly climbing up a nearby tree branch. This figure emitted an electric blue light, and its gleaming blue eyes were fixed on Yuga.
