Chapter 1051: The Ancestor
Chapter 1051: The Ancestor
Regirock immediately crossed its arms in front of itself. Thankfully, its high defense prevented it from being injured, but it was still sent sliding back a considerable distance.
With the attack launched, Yuga and Mr. Brandon couldn't afford to just stand there.
"Let's attack together!" Mr. Brandon said to Yuga, while releasing his other Pokémon, Regice.
Clearly, he also recognized the strength of Salamence before them.
After nodding, Yuga released his Florges, Chimecho, and Lapras. In a normal battle, they wouldn't stand a chance against a level 100 Salamence, so they could only hope for a group attack.
Suddenly, Gengar and Mismagius emerged from the shadows, flanking Salamence from the left to the right. The moment they appeared, Gengar and Yuga both initiated Mega Evolution.
Absol's Mega Evolution stemmed from the Seed of Unknown and had little to do with Yuga, so it didn't count towards the limit of Mega Evolutions. Thus, Gengar could still Mega Evolve.
Mega Gengar and Mismagius that appeared out of nowhere and launched a Shadow Ball and a Mystical Fire simultaneously, aiming at Salamence's head from both sides.
But Salamence flapped its massive crimson wings, creating a gust of wind that swept away the Shadow Ball and Mystical Fire.
Salamence cast a disdainful look at the Mega Gengar and Mismagius. Then, its long tail swept out, sending them both flying.
Luckily, just in time, Chimecho's Reflect move appeared in from of them, and saving them from being knocked out. With Mega Gengar and Mismagius's weak defenses and stamina, they would have been knocked out without it.
Seeing these weaklings daring to resist it, Salamence grew angry. It opened its mouth and unleashed a Dragon Pulse, attempting to annihilate all the Pokémon surrounding it.
At this moment, Florges spread a Misty Terrain across the battlefield, filling the area with pink fog.
At the same time, Chimecho controlled its psychic energy to erect Light Screens in front of all the Pokémon. Numerous transparent walls sparkled under the reflection of the sun.
All the Pokémon were engulfed in the bluish-purple energy of the Dragon Pulse, but thanks to the weakened Dragon-type moves in the Misty Terrain and the defenses of the Light Screens, everyone was relatively unscathed.
Before the energy of the Dragon Pulse dissipated, Lapras's Ice Beam, Regirock's Stone Edge, Regice's Zap Cannon, and Mega Absol's Psyblade all broke through the bluish-purple energy barrier and aimed directly at Salamence.
But Salamence reacted quickly. With a powerful flap of its wings, it easily dodged the attacks of the four Pokémon with a few flips in the air.
However, at some point, Chimecho had used Teleport to appear directly above Salamence, and immediately activating its Gravity move.
Chimecho's Gravity move could suppress even the legendary Okemon like Rayquaza for a while, let alone a Salamence!
In this completely defenseless situation, the Salamence plummeted headfirst.
Boom!
After a muffled sound, the Salamence that was affected by gravity move, had its limbs and wings tightly pressed to the ground. It struggled for a moment but couldn't break free.
At this moment, Mega Gengar's Shadow Ball, Mismagius's Mystical Fire, Florges's Moonblast, Mega Absol's Dark Pulse, Regirock's Stone Edge, and Regice's Zap Cannon instantly overwhelmed Salamence.
Most Pokémon would have fainted from such a barrage of attacks from high level Pokémon, but not with the Salamence.
Yuga, Mr. Brandon, and the Pokémon heard a roar from the lingering energy surge, followed by a figure bursting out of the smoke and dust.
It was Salamence!
However, the Salamence at this moment was different from when its first appeared. It was covered in wounds and dirt, it looked at Yuga, Mr. Brandon, and the others Pokémon with fury in its eyes.
After so many years, it was the first time it had been in such a sorry state! It was a Humiliation for it!
The Salamence opened its mouth and unleashed a massive Fire Blast. The closest target, Mismagius, bore the brunt of the attack, as the powerful burst of flame smashed it into the ground.
Boom!
After an explosion, Mismagius lay unconscious in a deep crater.
Still not satisfied, Salamence continued to launch Fire Blasts one after another. The other Pokémon that has been prepared this time, immediately dodged or defended, avoiding the same fate as Mismagius.
The Salamence's Fire Blasts missed their targets, causing destruction all around. The once beautiful and fertile fields in the Meteor Village were now completely ruined, with crops were all being destroyed.
After Mismagius was incapacitated, Yuga's shadow suddenly stretched eerily, as if it had come to life, extending into the deep pit where Mismagius lay. Then, a small yellow ball emerged from within, dragging the unconscious Mismagius into the shadow. Afterward, Yuga's shadow slowly returned to its normal state.
Seeing Mismagius fall, Mega Gengar wanted to use Curse move to afflict Salamence with a curse status. However, due to the vast difference in strength between them, it couldn't apply the curse to Salamence and had to give up helplessly.
Although Mega Gengar's Curse move was failed to take effect, the Salamence could still sensed it. It glared fiercely at Mega Gengar, then suddenly swung its dragon claw towards it. Mega Gengar was startled and quickly disappeared in place, leaving a hole in the ground where the Salamence's Dragon Claw was struck.
Failing to hit Mega Gengar, the Salamence was about to take off when numerous green vines suddenly emerged from the ground, and simultaneously binding its wing and limbs at the same time.
At this moment, Mega Absol and Regice appeared on the both side of the Salamence. One used Night Slash to attack the Salamence's vital point, and the other used Arm Hammer to strike the Salamence.
The restrained Salamence was successfully hit. It roared angrily, and its long tail immediately wrapped around Mega Absol, dragging it and slamming it into Regice on the other side. Thus, Mega Absol and Regice were both sent flying.
Mega Absol was already injured from battling with Seviper and now, being hit by Salamence's tail, it instantly lost its fighting ability.
However, Regice, being a Pokémon with extremely high defenses, was not affected much by the hit. Despite staggering, it managed to stand up again. Yet, the Arm Hammer attack slowed it down, causing it to move sluggishly.
Enraged, the Salamence spat out a Fire Blast that quickly incinerated the vines that binding it. Then, it also use Fire Blast to engulfed Regice, which hadn't had a chance to leave yet.
At this moment, Florges's Moonblast, Regirock's Stone Edge, and Lapras's Ice Beam hit the Salamence while it was attacking Regice. All the three moves were restrained the Salamence, and causing it to emit its most piercing roar since entering the battle.
As the flames engulfing Regice dissipated, it fell to the ground, charred.
With Regice being defeated, the Salamence had now taken down three Pokémon. Its Moxie ability continuously raised its attack power by three levels, making its aura even more terrifying.
Gasping for breath as it flew up, the Salamence cast a fierce gaze around, it no longer showing a disdain for these weak opponents, only deep humiliation and anger.
The remaining Pokémon - Regirock, Florges, Lapras, Chimecho, and Mega Gengar - nervously watched Salamence, and suddenly feeling a sense of foreboding.
Sure enough, consumed by rage, the Salamence activated its Outrage move. Under this state, the Salamence was as if it had been bestowed with an invincible buff.
After activating Outrage, Salamence directly launched a Dragon Rush towards Chimecho. Chimecho attempted to dodge using Teleport, but it was too late. It could only hastily conjure a Reflect move. However, with a crash, the barrier was shattered, and Chimecho was sent flying.
At this moment, Florges's pre-prepared Wish move took effect. A pink pillar of light descended from the sky, timely healing Chimecho, and preventing it from losing its fighting ability immediately.
After regaining its strength back, Chimecho immediately released the Gravity move on the approaching Salamence, and immobilizing it. Then, Regirock used Giga Impact to charge towards Salamence.
Boom!
Regirock collided with Salamence, but under the Outrage state, the Salamence felt no pain. Although it was injured again, it calmly used Aqua Tail to swipe Regirock away.
Chimecho's Gravity only held Salamence momentarily. After Regirock's attack ended, the Salamence regained its freedom. It ascended into the air and unleashed its ultimate move, Draco Meteor.
Countless flaming meteorites descended from the sky, and exploding all around.
Chimecho hastily assisted Lapras, Florges, and Regirock in defense. However, the Draco Meteor was too intense. Chimecho protected the other Pokémon but was accurately hit herself. Without Florges's Wish move this time, Chimecho lost its consciousness.
Before losing its consciousness, Chimecho's pre-emptive Future Sight was activated. The two transparent light wheels suddenly flashed and struck the Salamence, causing its body to tremble slightly, and adding two more wounds.
At this point, Mega Gengar returned to Yuga's side, doing everything possible to protect Yuga and Mr. Brandon from the damage of the Draco Meteor, with no spare energy to help the other Pokémon.
After the Draco Meteor ended, this area was already devastated.
What puzzled Yuga and Mr. Brandon was that the Salamence, despite using Outrage, showed no signs of confusion. Instead, it seemed even calmer and more rational than before.
What Yuga didn't know was that this Shiny Salamence had a special ability. It could actively prolong the duration of the Outrage buff, and delaying the confusion caused by it.
However, the confusion wouldn't disappear; instead, it would become even more severe in the future. It could be said that this special ability had its pros and cons.
After Chimecho fell, the Salamence's attack power increased by another level. But at the same time, its injuries reached its limit. The Outrage state only blocked its sense of pain, but not making its injuries disappear.
The Salamence used Dragon Rush to charge towards Lapras. Florges let out a soft cry, and the grassy terrain opened up, countless vines emerging from underground and immediately entangling the extremely fasts charging Salamence.
The Salamence's strength was immense; it broke wave after wave of the vines, but another wave of vines keep emerged incessantly from the ground, as if it were endless.
But, Yuga that was not far from Florges, could see beads of sweat were forming densely on its forehead.
At this moment, Lapras's melodious cry sounded, and countless blue lights suddenly surged from its body. Yuga could vaguely perceive its blue skin color deepening.
Before long, Yuga felt the presence of Legendary Aura was emanating from Lapras's body. This was the first time, aside from Florges, that Yuga had felt the presence of Legendary Aura so distinctly in one of his Pokémon.
Clearly, the blue orb inside Lapras's body had been affecting it all along!
Compared to Florges's lively and vibrant Legendary Aura, Lapras's Legendary Aura gave a sense of boundless vastness.
While Salamence continued to struggle, Florges kept channeling its energy into the grassy terrain, attempting to restrain it. Due to the interference of the vines, Regirock found itself unable to attack the Salamence.
"Lapras..."
Suddenly, Lapras raised its head and sang loudly. A tremendously thick column of icy-blue energy spewed from its mouth, and instantly engulfing the Salamence and all the vines that was restraining it.
As they watched the Salamence and the entangled vines being frozen into ice sculptures, the scene suddenly quieted down.
"It's finally over!" Yuga breathed a long sigh of relief.
At this moment, Florges collapsed directly onto the ground, and Lapras that having just unleashed its powerful move, was panting heavily.
Nagao, who had long been dragged away from the battlefield by Venusaur Slippers, looked at his ancestor that has been frozen into an ice sculpture from afar, muttering incredulously, "Impossible, impossible! How could our ancestor be defeated so easily? Our ancestor is so strong!"
Watching the Salamence that has been turned into ice sculpture, Yuga felt immensely relieved. He thought to himself how fortunate they were that Old lady didn't bring this Pokémon out at the time. Otherwise, capturing the Draconid People and dealing with the Rayquaza's clone would have been much more difficult.
However, what Yuga didn't know was that it wasn't the Old lady was unwilling to bring out their ancestor; rather, they couldn't bring it out due to certain special circumstances. Despite still guarding the Meteor Village, their ancestor harbored deep resentment towards the current Draconid People for various reasons, and wishing to devour all of them alive.
Over the years, to prevent the Salamence from doing anything irrational, the Draconid People had kept it locked in a specially made cell. If they hadn't been unable to resist Yuga and Mr. Brandon's attack, Nagao wouldn't have dared to take a risk by releasing their ancestor.
Sure enough, as soon as the ancestor come out, the first thing it did was eat the Draconid People who had helped it open the cell.
However, before Yuga and Mr. Brandon could relax, there was suddenly a cracking sound from the Salamence ice sculpture. Somehow, the cracks had been formed all over the ice sculpture.
Boom!
The ice sculpture suddenly shattered, and the Salamence roared as it flew out from within.
Yuga and Mr. Brandon's faces turned pale. They no longer had the ability to defeat the Salamence for a second time!
However, things didn't go as they had thought. The emerged Salamence immediately fell into a state of confusion, and it was a particularly violent one.
It started clawing at its own face with great force, and knocking itself unconscious in just a few strikes.
Yuga and Mr. Brandon both breathed a sigh of relief simultaneously: Phew... That was very close.
