Chapter 70 - 70: Just Take a Look
Adrian Zhekova nodded, waiting for everyone to come out before he and Cindy
Clarke entered the elevator.
As the elevator doors closed, the employees who just stepped out of the elevator immediately couldn’t help but gossip.
“I think she’s the CEO’s girlfriend, right?”
“Maybe she’s even the mother of the CEO’s child; don’t forget about the little kid who visited before, who looked just like the CEO!”
“Did the CEO secretly get married without telling anyone?”
“I’m more curious about how that girl can stand the scumbag CEO’s temper.”
“Even that scumbag CEO can find a girlfriend? Stop kidding!” If that scumbag CEO can find a girlfriend, why is he still single!
Cindy Clarke had no idea about the employees’ speculations as she followed Adrian Zhekova to his office.
Just as she was about to ask, there was a knock on the office door.
“Come in.” As Adrian Zhekova’s voice fell, Sheldon Rowland walked in.
“CEO, Cindy Clarke.” Sheldon smiled and greeted them, placing a food container on the table, “This just came from Quire.”
Adrian then said to Cindy: “You must not have eaten before coming here, so I had lunch sent over.”
Cindy thought to herself, no wonder this food container looks so exquisite; it’s not an ordinary lunch box.
It turned out to be from Quire, the Michelin Three Star Restaurant owned by the Pingla Group.
Cindy had never been there before, and to be honest, she was quite curious.
Reservation for a Michelin Three Star restaurant needed advance notice and the prices were high, and Cindy really didn’t want to spend the money to try it out.
However, if Adrian could order such a fancy lunch, why did he have her deliver lunch?
Whether in terms of ingredients or culinary skills, there certainly was a gap between her and the head chef of a Michelin Three Star Restaurant.
Wasn’t Adrian’s choice a bit far-fetched?
She hadn’t thought about this problem before, but now the fact was right in front of her eyes.
Cindy felt a bit restless.
Adrian had eaten so many exquisite dishes before. Would he think hers was too simple by comparison?
It made her feel like she was showing off her skills in front of an expert.
“I came to bring you lunch, but you ended up ordering it for me.” Cindy felt really embarrassed.
“The restaurant’s cuisine is indeed exquisite and delicious, but to me, it lacks warmth.” Adrian explained why he chose Cindy’s cooking over having lunch sent by his own restaurant.
Cindy thought about it and agreed.
Adrian had eaten many exquisite dishes before and after a while, they lose their charm.
Sheldon then said, “CEO, Cindy, I’ll leave you two alone.”
As he was about to leave, Adrian stopped him, “Wait.” Sheldon looked at Adrian with confusion. Adrian slowly sat down and said to Cindy, “Sit.”
He meant to have Cindy dine with him.
After she sat down, Adrian finally spoke to Sheldon, “There’s nothing else, I just wanted you to look at the lunch Cindy prepared.”
Adrian opened the food container and was amazed at first sight.
Cindy had divided the meal into sections for him.
Orange-yellow fried rice, emerald green lettuce, red shrimp, red and white salmon poached eggs, and white egg pancakes with a slightly burnt yellow outer ring.
At a glance, you could see how much effort Cindy had put into this meal; it must have taken her a lot of time.
“It looks so beautiful.” Sheldon’s eyes were filled with envy.
“Beautiful, isn’t it?” Adrian asked.
Sheldon quickly nodded.
“Just look and then leave.” Adrian said ruthlessly..
