Chapter 272: Unknown Fossil
Chapter 272: Unknown Fossil
"Of course, isn\'t it already in your hands?"
Yuga had no interest in Pokémon like Relicant, even if it was an ancient fossil.
As Charles caressed the Poké Ball in his hand, he muttered to himself, "This is amazing, an Ancient Fossil Pokémon appearing here."
At that moment, another water pillar shot out from the pool, and Florges, guarding nearby, immediately dispersed the water pillar with a gust of Fairy Wind.
After the water pillar was scattered, Florges\'s two vine whips plunged into the water and started churning. Before long, Relicant were thrown onto the shore one after another.
Seeing the Relicant flopping around, Yuga asked Charles, "Do you still want these?"
Charles quickly nodded, indicating that he wanted all of them.
Yuga reluctantly had Florges knock out all the Relicant and then took out Poké Balls to capture them.
Charles held the Poké Balls Yuga had thrown to him, and he couldn\'t stop smiling with joy.
When Yuga had dealt with all the Relicant, suddenly an energy ball shot out of the water, heading straight for Florges on the shore.
Florges reacted swiftly, whipping the energy ball away with one of her vines.
The energy ball that was knocked away hit the cave wall, causing a violent explosion. Many rocks fell into the water, creating splashes.
When Yuga and the others looked back at the pool, they found a Cradily that had appeared in the water at some point, roaring at them menacingly.
"It\'s a Cradily!" Charles exclaimed.
Charles\'s exclamation successfully drew Cradily\'s attention, and a massive energy ball instantly shot toward him.
"Florges!" Yuga called out.
In response, Florges swiftly used her vine whip to once again deflect the energy ball.
Seeing Florges repeatedly thwarting it, Cradily finally became furious and directed its attack at Florges.
As Cradily redirected its attack toward Florges, dark purple liquid shot toward her. This was a Poison-type Gastro Acid.
Facing Cradily\'s Gastro Acid, Florges didn\'t dodge. Instead, dozens of emerald-green leaves suddenly appeared around her, transforming into blades that sliced through the Gastro Acid before heading towards Cradily with undiminished momentum.
If it had been the old Florges, she might have had some trouble dealing with this Gastro Acid, but now she handled it with ease.
Cradily didn\'t expect Florges to be so formidable. Caught off guard, it was hit by the magic leaves and sent flying out of the water onto the shore.
Without giving Cradily a chance to react, Florges used her vine whip to hoist it up high and unleashed a Moonblast directly at it, defeating Cradily.

Type: Rock/Grass
Ability: Suction Cups
Gender: Male
Potential: Green
Level: 45
Moves: Wrap, Gastro Acid, Ingrain, Brine, Energy Ball, Ancient Power, Barrier, Recover
This Cradily was clearly much stronger than the Relicant, both in terms of potential and level.
Yuga threw a Poké Ball to capture Cradily. Although he didn\'t particularly like this tentacle creature, he considered it a valuable addition to the Ecopark, especially with its decent potential.
Charles looked at the Poké Ball containing Cradily in Yuga\'s hand, clearly torn about something. Yuga could tell what was on his mind.
"Do you want Cradily?" Yuga asked, shaking the Poké Ball in his hand.
Charles quickly nodded.
"But I don\'t want to give it to you!" Yuga playfully teased, a rare sight.
"Well, can I trade it for the Relicant then?" Charles muttered.
Yuga disdainfully curled his lips and said, "The Relicant aren\'t even mine to give."
Charles successfully fell silent.
"Alright, alright! Let\'s see if there are any more Cradily in the water," Yuga chuckled, patting Charles\'s shoulder.
Charles immediately beamed with joy.
Unfortunately, Florges combed through the water but didn\'t find another Pokémon. Instead, they retrieved numerous ancient Pokémon remains.
These remains hadn\'t turned into fossils and couldn\'t be used to revive Pokémon, so they weren\'t of much use to Yuga. He decided to give them all to Charles to make up for his disappointment in not finding another Cradily.
While Charles was busy collecting the Pokémon remains, he accidentally stepped on something, causing the entire cave to shake violently.
Charles jumped in fright and exclaimed, "Is this place collapsing?"
Yuga also wondered, "Could it be that dramatic?"
However, they quickly realized that the cave showed no signs of collapsing. The shaking soon stopped, but in the center of the pool, something resembling an altar slowly rose.
"What is that?" Charles pointed at the semi-transparent stone placed on the altar in astonishment.
Yuga also saw the object on the altar but didn\'t recognize it. He could only shake his head.
Normally, something immersed in water for a long time would be covered in moss or parasites, but this stone on the altar remained clean and shiny. They wondered if it had been preserved in a special way.
Yuga turned to Florges and said, "Florges, retrieve that stone."
Florges nodded and extended her two vine whips to pull the stone from the center of the pool to the shore.
Yuga and Charles took the stone from Florges and placed it on the ground.
Charles pulled out a magnifying glass from somewhere and examined the stone closely, turning it this way and that. Finally, he said, "This might be a fossil of an ancient Pokémon."
"A fossil of ancient Pokémon?" Yuga asked in surprise, realizing that he wasn\'t familiar with this type of fossil.
"Yes," Charles nodded, "but we can\'t be sure which Pokémon it is."
Yuga examined the stone carefully. It was light purple, semi-transparent, and larger than a human head. It looked unlike any other ancient Pokémon fossil he had seen before.
Yuga tested its weight and found it to be much lighter than he had expected.
"Um... Yuga, can I have this fossil?" Charles hesitantly asked.
Yuga rolled his eyes and said, "Don\'t even think about it!"
This might be an unknown Pokémon. However if it can be revived in the future, it could be a valuable discovery. Yuga would be foolish if he give it away.
