Chapter 814: Tracking
Chapter 814: Tracking
Absol nodded in response. It closed its eyes, and a faint blue light appeared on its crescent-shaped horn.
Under the influence of the pale blue light, fragments of time materialized around Absol. Each fragment existed for only a few seconds, then rapidly faded, only to reappear quickly in a continuous cycle.
From these fragments, Yuga could see the figures of Bonnie, Clemont, and a Heliolisk battling against a Malamar.
Without a doubt, the Heliolisk was Clemont\'s Pokémon, and the Malamar was the one that had taken Clemont captive.
From the time fragments, it was clear that three Malamar had besieged Clemont. Although they all looked quite similar, there were subtle differences in their shades of color that Yuga could easily distinguish.
However, due to the rapid flickering of these time fragments, Yuga couldn\'t determine the direction in which the three Malamar had taken Clemont.
Absol\'s ability to manipulate time like this was a recent development, a derivative power of Future Sight.
Absol\'s Future Sight was quite different from that of other Pokémon capable of Future Sight. In the past, it could only enhance its combat instincts through this ability.
But after more than two years of training, it had gained the ability to see small snippets of time—some from the past and others from the future.
This unique ability had been the reason it was pursued by the Team Magma in the first place.
However, Absol\'s ability was still quite weak. It could only see fragments from the past within a span of 24 hours, and future fragments were limited to just a few seconds ahead.
As far as Yuga knew, when it came to predicting the future, Olympia from the Anistar City, Anistar Gym, was much stronger.
She was a bona fide psychic, capable of foreseeing the future even without the assistance of Pokémon.
If Sabrina\'s psychic abilities were geared toward attack, then Olympia\'s psychic talents were all about prophecy.
Although Absol\'s Future Sight couldn\'t compare to Olympia\'s, it was still impressive.
About two to three minutes later, Absol opened its eyes again, and Yuga quickly asked, "Did you find any clues?"
"Absol!"
Absol nodded and signaled for Yuga and Bonnie to get on its back.
Based on the clues seen in the time fragments, Absol carried Yuga and Bonnie as it raced forward. It knew Bonnie was deeply concerned about her brother, so it ran at an incredible speed.
Because it had been some time since the three Malamar had taken Clemont, Absol had to constantly use its time manipulation ability along the way.
Despite the ability to glimpse only small fragments of the past, using this power was quite draining for Absol.
After what seemed like a considerable distance, Yuga and his group had moved far from Lumiose City, and Absol was visibly exhausted.
Whenever Yuga thought about letting Absol rest, the bone armor inlaid with Seed of Unknown on Absol\'s forehead will emitted a soft, pale blue light, sustaining Absol.
Before long, they entered a vast forest.
Yuga was unfamiliar with the Kalos region and had not prepared for this journey, so he had no idea where they were in the forest.
What Yuga and his companions didn\'t realize was that when they entered the forest, they passed through an invisible energy barrier that covered a significant portion of the forest.
Without Absol\'s unique abilities, they would have had no way of finding this special area within the forest.
Seeing the towering trees and rare Pokémon around, Yuga was certain that this wasn\'t just any random place. Absol also informed him that they were closing in on Clemont.
Clemont was somewhere in this forest.
The dense, tall trees blocked most of the sunlight, creating an eerie atmosphere.
Sitting on Absol\'s back, Bonnie was affected by this eerie feeling, trembling slightly as she nestled into Yuga\'s embrace.
"Bonnie, don\'t be afraid. Big brother will protect you," Yuga reassured the nervous Bonnie.
Hearing Yuga\'s words, Bonnie relaxed a bit and tilted her head up to ask, "Big brother, my brother will be okay, right?"
"Don\'t worry, he\'ll be fine."
Since those three Pokémon had captured Clemont, it meant they had some task in mind for him and wouldn\'t easily harm him.
Yuga\'s reassuring tone seemed to give Bonnie some strength, and her worried expression relaxed a bit.
After a brief pause, Yuga turned to Absol and said, "Absol, please set Bonnie and me down."
Absol nodded in response, lowered its body, and allowed Yuga and Bonnie to dismount.
Once Yuga was on the ground, he released Florges. He then said to Absol, "We\'ll leave the rest to Florges. You should rest now."
Absol, clearly fatigued, and understanding that the forest was Florges\'s domain, didn\'t object and nodded in agreement.
After retrieving Absol, Yuga turned to Florges and said, "Florges, please inquire about the situation with the forest\'s Pokémon."
"Florges."
Florges nodded and emanated waves of green energy that spread outward from her. Soon, several Pokémon surrounded Yuga and his group.
These Pokémon were primarily Grass-type, including Pokémon like Phantump, Trevenant, Gourgeist, and Pumpkaboo. There were also a few Ride Pokémon like Skiddo and Gogoat mixed in.
Apart from the Grass-types, a few Fairy-type Pokémon were also drawn to Florges, including Pokémon like Spritze, Swirlix and Dendene.
"Florges, Florges, Florges."
Florges, with a dignified expression, began to communicate with these Pokémon. The Pokémon looked at her with respectful gazes.
Florges possessed a divinity within her, similar to Nana\'s situation. When Yuga used his Insight ability to examine Florges, it was the same as when he examined Nana.
Yuga had noticed that whenever a Pokémon had a divinity, his Insight became ineffective.
Common Pokémon could sense the divinity within Florges, especially the Grass-types, causing them to instinctively lower their postures when in her presence.
