Chapter 823: The Crystal

Chapter 823: The Crystal

Although the three Malamar were cunning and clever, they lacked integrity as Pokémon. Threatened by Yuga and reminded of the recent nightmare, they immediately surrendered.

"Now, tell me what this is." Yuga took out the blue crystal and held it up in front of them.

Seeing the blue crystal in Yuga\'s hand, the expressions of the three Malamar changed multiple times. Their attitude towards Yuga lost its previous deference.

The leader among them even reached out its tentacles, attempting to grab the crystal until Gengar smacked it with a Shadow Ball several times to make it behave.

"It seems this thing is quite important to you. So, spill the beans," Yuga urged.

The other two Malamar were fearful of Yuga and Gengar and appeared hesitant to speak. However, they were silenced by the menacing glare from the leader.

Seeing that the Malamar leader still wasn\'t cooperative, Yuga exchanged a knowing glance with Gengar.

"Gengar... Gengar..."

Knowing that someone else was about to be tormented, Gengar laughed with excitement.

Gengar\'s eyes shot two black beams at the Malamar leader, causing it to immediately feel weakened, as if all its strength was being drained away.

Under Gengar\'s curse, the Malamar leader writhed in agony on the ground, feeling that if this continued, it might die.

Compared to treasures, one\'s own life was of paramount importance, and in its terrified state, the Malamar leader yielded.

"M-Malamar... Malamar..."

I said, I said, Please, spare me...

The Malamar leader, once so proud, now lay on the ground, crying and begging.

So, the three Malamaa started sharing their experiences.

When they were still Inkay, they had their own tribe. They lived in the deepest part of the great forest of Kalos, the Santalune Forest.

The Inkay tribe there, like the ordinary Pokémon tribe, live carefree and freely in the depths of the Santalune Forest.

But it seemed that they were born at odds with their tribe. They were always full of bad thought and scheming all day long, most of their companions in the tribe disliked them.

One day, they discovered a forbidden area in their tribe that none of the other tribe members were allowed to approach except for the leader.

The three mischievous Inkay followed their leader and sneaked into the forbidden area.

Despite being labeled as forbidden, the place wasn\'t particularly extraordinary. It housed a small stone shrine, inside which rested the same blue crystal that Yuga now held. This crystal would later become the catalyst for the three Inkay\'s departure from the Santalune Forest.

From the leader\'s muttering, the three Inkay learned that this blue crystal was, in fact, one of their ancestors\' eyeballs.

Whether their ancestor was powerful or not, the three Inkay didn\'t know, but the crystal held incredible power within it, which deeply attracts the three of them.

They also noticed some carvings on the stone shrine, depicting a bird-like creature. Just by looking at it, the three Inkay could sense an overwhelming sense of pressure.

Later as they expanded their horizons outside the forest, they learned that the carving on the shrine represented one of Kalos\'s legendary Pokémon, Yveltal.

What connection their ancestor had with Yveltal remained a mystery, but they knew that their ancestor\'s eyeball contained unimaginable power.

On a dark and stormy night, the three Inkay stole the crystal from the forbidden area and left the Santalune Forest.

Once free from their tribe, the three Inkay roamed all over Kalos, from the deep mountains and rivers to the bustling human cities. They became quite knowledgeable, broadening their horizons significantly.

The more they saw the beauty of the outside world, the stronger their inner restlessness grew.

Through their research on the crystal, they discovered that it could help them level up rapidly. This was especially true for the two Inkay with Yellow potential, as their leveling speed was on par with most Green potential Pokémon.

As they evolved into Malamar, their strength continued to grow, and their hypnotic abilities became even more potent.

Their increasing power fueled their ambitions. They began using hypnosis to trick and kidnap humans, learning from them and absorbing knowledge.

The three Malamar were exceptionally intelligent, surpassing most Psychic-type Pokémon. They quickly absorbed any knowledge they came across.

As they became aware of their uniqueness, their ambitions swelled. They fantasized about living like a human one day.

When they stumbled upon AZ\'s notes by chance, they finally put their desires into action.

With increased enthusiasm, they actively learned human knowledge and secretly gathered various materials, they have been preparing for this for more than a decade.

Later, they discreetly chose a remote forest that was not far from the human world as their base and built a laboratory for studying AZ\'s notes.

It took the three Malamar several decades to build this advanced laboratory and create replicas of the ultimate weapon described in AZ\'s notes.

With the ultimate weapon mentioned in AZ\'s notes, they believed they could control the world, enslave humans, and live the lives they desired.

To protect their base, the three Malamar also created a special device. When the blue crystal was placed on this device, its power would be amplified, creating a field.

Under the field\'s influence, the forest\'s inhabitants couldn\'t leave, and outsiders couldn\'t enter. The forest itself would be concealed from view.

If it weren\'t for Yuga\'s Absol\'s unique abilities, most people would never find this place.

Most importantly, within this field, the three Malamar received the crystal\'s protection, leading to a significant boost in their power.

This is why the forest\'s inhabitants were unable to resist the Malamar, as there were no Elite level Pokémon in this forest.

This crystal was the foundation of the Malamar\'s rule over the forest and the guarantee of their progress over the years.

So, when the crystal fell into Yuga\'s hands, the three Malamar were so excited.

These three Malamar were indeed prodigies, not only managing to replicate the ultimate weapon (even though it was a pseudo-version) but also inventing a device to amplify the power of the blue crystal.

If they were integrated into the human world, they would undoubtedly be considered high-tech talents.

However, sometimes, the most terrifying individuals are the high-tech ones.

If these three Malamar had chosen to collaborate with certain humans instead of going solo when they first obtained AZ\'s notes, such as with Team Flare, who knows how far they could have gone?

Thinking about this, Yuga couldn\'t help but shiver. The world could have been in real danger.

But then again, Team Flare was already quite dangerous in itself.

Looking at the crystal in his hand and knowing it was one of the eyes of the Malamar\'s ancestor, Yuga couldn\'t help but feel uncomfortable.
