Chapter 171: Evolution Extended
Chapter 171: Evolution Extended
Axel opened his eyes and threw his blanket. It was getting cold nowadays and the warmth of the blanket should be ridden off if he wanted to wake up early. He opened his door and smiled with approval. Charmeleon was outside doing what Axel had told it to do. It was warming up.
"Char.. Char.." It waved towards Axel. Since Charmeleon was way behind its peers, Axel had told it to wake up at 4 a.m. and start warming up. That 1 hour was to practice its Physical type moves which were: \'Scratch\', \'Dragon claw\', \'Flame Charge\', \'Iron Tail\', and \'Thunder Punch\'. Morning time was the perfect time to practice physical moves and Charmeleon was serious about this new training plan.
-----
[Ding!
Charmeleon\'s Iron tail had leveled up to 12
Ding!
Charmeleon\'s Thunder Punch has leveled up to 9]

Axel came near it and patted its head for the job well done.
"Good job, Charmeleon. Now let me see those physical moves once again". Charmeleon did what it was told. Axel could feel that the moves were more fluid and flexible than before.
Axel only had one task for Charmeleon for today and that was to learn \'Slash\'. \'Slash\' was the better version of \'Scratch\' and it had a high critical ratio. Since Charmeleon had already learned \'Scratch\' it would be easier for it to learn \'Slash\'. Axel had given it some ideas on the move and had told it to try it by itself. Axel wanted Charmeleon to learn it without external help. He wanted to observe how powerful would a self-learned move would be.
Axel then started to concentrate on other Pokemons in his team, especially, Piloswine. Only 2 weeks were left for the decisive battle and he needed Piloswine to be ready for it. As per Axel\'s estimation, Piloswine was already ready for the battle but a little more hard work would not hurt anyone.
It was not an exciting day. There were no evolutions or rank up but such things were not everyday occurrences. Almost every Pokemon in Axel\'s team were adjusting to their new evolution and rank up. Axel wanted to give them a well-deserved rest so he had told them to take a short vacation until the decisive battle. Everyone was happy but it didn\'t apply to Nidorino.
Nidorino was on the verge of mastering the new ability concept that its master had said to do it.
There was another peculiarity that Axel noticed and it was the disappearance of Gogoat during the day. It would return in the evening and go somewhere in the night. Axe had asked Gogoat about its disappearance but it never answered him. Axel was curious to investigate it but he really didn\'t have much time as the decisive battle was near. Gogoat was an old and experienced Pokemon so he knew that it could handle itself. The system didn\'t even show it as his Pokemon so he was not much interested in it for now. Axel made a mental note to investigate this matter in the future.
Axel got 2 notifications at the end of the day which made him happy.
First was:
----
[Ding!
Charmeleon has learned \'Slash\'
Ding!
Charmeleon\'s \'Slash\' has leveled up to 4]
----
Charmeleon deserved the black (monstrous) potential. It had learned a new move in a day and had also leveled it up. Axel had already made some plans for Charmeleon for the next day. He was happy with its progress.
Second was:
-----
[Ding!
Nidorino is ranking up. Do you want to extend the ranking up?
Ding!
Extended condition:- Learn a completely new move]
-----
So, if Nidorino mastered the new move concept, it would rank up. Except for Sp. Def, all of Nidorino\'s stats were \'S\' so it was going in a good direction. Nidorino may be slow in its ranking up but it had made a perfect base in comparison to Shedinja and Beedrill which would be good for it in the future.
After checking on these notifications, Axel fell asleep.
###
Next day, morning, 5 a.m.
It was a daily routine for Axel to wake up at 5 a.m. Charmeleon was already doing its warm-up. Axel had made a future plan for Charmeleon and he was going to work on it from today. He basically came up with 2 concepts and he wanted to apply both of them
First was the type of Pokemon Charmeleon was. Charmeleon was a \'flame Pokemon\'. It was not a \'Lizard Pokemon\' or an \'Angry Pokemon\' but a \'flame Pokemon\'. So, Axel decided to focus its specialty on flames. It should have other moves on other typings too for support and critical situation but Axel wanted it to focus on flames as its specialty.
That was why Axel wanted it to learn \'Fire Pledge\'. \'Fire Pledge\' lets the user send a pillar of fire that hits the opposing Pokemon. It was a normal fire move but it does cover a large area. Axel wanted Charmeleon to manipulate fire on a cellular level.
Axel gave his thoughts on \'Fire Pledge\' and showed it a video of a Pokemon using it. He tasked Charmeleon to learn this move within 2 days. \'Fire Pledge\' was a complicated move. It was not as easy as \'Slash\', so 2 days was justified.
The second concept was its ability. \'Blaze\'. In games and anime, \'Blaze\' would increase the power of fire-type moves by 50% when the user\'s health reaches below a third of its maximum. But in real life, it was vastly different.
In real life, \'Blaze\' was a berserk type ability. The more health of the user is consumed, the more powerful its fire type attacks. The increase in power was 50% maximum but when a Pokemon become powerful even 10% increase in power would make a huge difference. If the Pokemon could control the power of \'Blaze\' with its rational mind, the power of the said ability could be huge.
