Chapter 333: Fighting 2 gym leaders- Koga
"Two of you? Like a double battle?" asked Axel.
"No, no. That would be too much for you to handle. The battle will be 4 Pokémon vs. 4 Pokémon. I will use 2 Pokémon, and Morgan here will use another 2. If you win the battle, these 2 gym badges are yours," said Koga.
"That is an interesting proposal. Alright, I\'m up for it."
"Alright, get ready. You will be battling me first. Seliska, announce it."
###
A beautiful girl held the microphone and spoke, "Ladies and gentlemen, the gym battle will start now. However, there has been an interesting turn in this event. Our challenger Axel will challenge both gym leaders with a 4 vs. 4 match. I will be the commentator, and Mr. Ronny will be the referee of this match. The rules of this gym battle are as follows:
1. This will be a 4 Pokémon battle.
2. Only the trainer can switch out their Pokémon.
3. If the battle ends in a draw, the trainer will be declared the winner.
4. Gym leader Koga will use 2 Pokémon, and gym leader Morgan will use 2 Pokémon.
5. Gym leader Koga will send out his Pokémon first.
6. Since this is the trainer\'s 6th gym battle, the gym leader cannot use Pokémon higher in rank than pseudo-king rank Pokémon."
Axel, Koga, and Morgan took their positions. Morgan stepped back and watched the battle.
"Mr. Koga, send out your first Pokémon," said Ronny.
"Let\'s do it, Smelly!" shouted Koga as he sent out a master ball.
"MUKKKKK!" shouted the Pokémon.
The distance between Axel and Muk was around 50 meters, and it still smelled terrible. Muks were known for their bad smell.
"The gym leader has started with Smelly the Muk. Its stench can be smelled from the commentator\'s room too. It is one of the strongest pseudo-king Pokémon of the gym leader. How will the challenger respond?" commented Seliska.
One of the upgrades was the commentator. Axel\'s gym battles didn\'t have one before, but since this was his 6th gym badge, a commentator was provided.
Muk\'s strength was measured by its smell. The smellier it was, the more powerful. This Muk\'s smell was not something a normal person could withstand. The crowd was far away, but they were still disgusted by the smell.
"The challenger is requested to send out his Pokémon," said Ronny.
"Let\'s do it, Mamoswine," said Axel as he threw out a master ball.
A big hulking Pokémon appeared. It stood around 6 meters tall, and its long curved tusk, which was around 3 meters in length, was eye-catching. This was the first time the world had seen a Mamoswine.
The concept of Piloswine\'s evolution had not appeared until now. It was a big and intimidating Pokémon. The crowd went crazy at the sight of Mamoswine.
"And look what we have here, an unknown Pokémon. We all know that Axel is not a simple challenger, but who knew that he would start with an unknown Pokémon that none of us have seen before. Axel has called it Mamoswine. This battle just got a lot more interesting," commented Seliska.
"Where did you get this Pokémon?" asked Koga.
"No comment," replied Axel.
"Oh, playing the mysterious card, are we? Alright, don\'t tell me. I want this battle to be interesting."
"Are both the challenger and gym leader ready for battle?" asked the referee.
Both of them nodded their heads.
"Let the battle begin!" shouted Ronny.
###
A gas of poison spread towards Mamoswine. This was the benefit of having an experienced Pokémon. You don\'t have to instruct it; they can decide for themselves.
"Mamoswine, start with \'Hail\' and \'Calm Mind\'."
"Muk, use \'Mean Look\'."
Muk\'s eyes changed, becoming dark and arresting. Muk successfully used \'Mean Look\'.
One advantage the challenger had was the ability to change their Pokémon in the middle of the battle. \'Mean Look\' eliminated that advantage for Axel and Mamoswine.
Axel had no plans to use another Pokémon, so it didn\'t matter to him.
He looked at Muk\'s stats:
---
Pokémon\'s name: Muk
Nickname: Smelly
Rank: Pseudo-king
Ability: Stench (80%)
Hidden ability: Poison Touch (72%)
Potential: Purple
Health: 2000/2000 Attack: D
Agility: E+ Defense: C++
Sp. Atk: C+ Sp. Def: C
Moves: Poison Gas, Sludge Bomb, Substitute, Memento, Mean Look, Stockpile, Spit Up, Swallow, Gunk Shot, Poison Blast, Poison Stick.
Poison Core: Mastered
---
Muk was known for its defense, and Koga seemed to have focused on that aspect as well. There were 2 new poison moves, and he didn\'t know what they would do.
Axel wasn\'t worried about the poison gas because of Mamoswine\'s new move, \'Sand Armor\'. Mamoswine had already used it before the start of the battle, and Koga had no idea.
Seeing that Mamoswine was not poisoned, he thought that it had high resistance. Koga couldn\'t even determine what type of Pokémon it was. He could guess that it was an Ice type Pokémon due to the move \'Hail\', but he couldn\'t be sure.
That was a huge advantage for Axel.
"Mamoswine, now use \'Icicle Spear\'." Mamoswine was unusually fast for its size. It hit Muk with 3 spears made of ice, but it did not cause any damage.
Muk had used \'Substitute\' at the same time to avoid the attack. Axel could see that Muk was growing larger than before. He didn\'t know what it was, but it could be deadly.
So, Axel told Mamoswine to use \'Ice Domain\'.
The environment surrounding them changed, and it started raining. Hail came down with more intensity.
"That is a good move, Axel. I think I should get serious. Smelly, use \'Gunk Shot\'," shouted Koga.
The move was very fast, resembling an arrow, and it had already reached Mamoswine.
Mamoswine used \'Ice Beam\' to deflect the attack, but it was no use. \'Ice Beam\', which had been recently learned, was powered up by \'Hail\'. However, \'Gunk Shot\' overpowered \'Ice Beam\', and Mamoswine was hit by the attack.
Due to its weight, Mamoswine didn\'t get knocked back, but it took a pretty bad hit.
The \'Sand Armor\' started to fall off, and everyone could see another layer of skin on Mamoswine.
