"It looks like you are going to win this battle.", said Mia with a sad smile.
"Yes, didn\'t I say that before? But you did entertain me. You and your Gengar pushed Slowemperor a lot and I appreciate that. It got to learn a lot from this battle.", said Axel.
The only thing that Slowemperor lacked was experience as it ranked up really fast. It had been battling a lot of Pokemon as of now and its experience was slowly building up and this battle helped it a lot.
"I have a proposal for you.", said Axel.
"And what would that be? Do you also want me to join your mercenary team?"
"Yes, I do."
"And why would I do that? I already have an organization that supports me and I am satisfied with it. So, why should I think about joining a new team?", asked Mia.
"Let me tell you something. I am 16 years old right now and I already have a tier 3 king-rank Pokemon with me. You are almost in your late 20s and you only have a tier 2 king-rank Pokemon.", said Axel.
"What are you trying to say?"
"What I am trying to say is that I must have something really good or some cheat to be able to get to that level. Don\'t you want to know and be a part of that?"
"You are the successor of the Pokemon master. Of course, you have a lot of resources. That old man must be flooding you with all the resources and tips. But that doesn\'t mean that I could enjoy them as I am not his successor."
Axel tried to control but he could not so he just let it out.
"HAHAHAHHAHAHAhahhaa"
He started to laugh hysterically. Was that what all of these trainers thought about him? That he could rise up on the ladder due to Oak.
"Hey? Why are you laughing?", asked Mia.
"If you think that old man is helping me and I have become what I am due to him, then you are very wrong. Except for some money, he had not given me anything. Do you really think that Oak would do anything for me? You are so delusional."
Seeing such a reaction from Axel, Mia didn\'t know what to say. She knew that Axel was not lying and if he was telling the truth, why was he so strong at such a young age? That was a question that she needed answer to. Did he really have some sort of a cheat? Mia knew that Axel was not going to tell that until she joined his mercenary team.
"Axel, I appreciate the offer but I cannot leave my current organization. They have helped me a lot during my time of need and I just cannot simply walk away.", replied Mia.
"I understand. Why don\'t we talk about it, after the battle.", said Axel.
"Ok, let\'s do that.", said Mia, and then threw the ball in the air.
It was a bipedal, primate-like Pokemon that was primarily reddish-brown with sections of white fur on its chest, head, and lower legs. Several gold markings adorned its body: swirled, circular ones on its knees and shoulders flame-shaped ones on the back of its hands, and a stripe around its back that forms two swirls on its chest. On top of its head was a large flame, which was never extinguished. It had an orange, rounded muzzle, long, round ears with blue inside, and a red ridge over its eyes. The eyes themselves were blue with yellow sclerae. There were five blue digits on both its feet and hands, and it had a long tail.
It was Infernape and it was a tier 1 king-rank Pokemon.

Even though Gengar was stronger than Infernape, Axel felt that Infernape was somehow better. He also had a fire-type Pokemon with him and he knew how deadly they could be.
"Your Infernape is very strong and I feel that it is close to ranking up to tier 2.", said Axel.
"Yes, Enma is my first official Pokemon. Even though it is a tier 1 king rank, I believe that it is my best Pokemon.", said Mia with a smile. She remembered all the time she had with Infernape and how good those times were.
"Let me help you out on this. I want to show you how much you would benefit if you were on my team.", said Axel and called out Slowemperor.
Axel could have used Slowemperor right now injured Infernape a bit and called out another Pokemon. However, he wanted to do something. He wanted Mia\'s Infernape to evolve right now and he had the perfect way to do it.
"Come out, Charles!!!", said Axel and threw the ball.
ROOOOARRRRR
Charizard gave a beastly roar when it came out of the ball. It was ready for a fight.
"Father, I am ready for the fight.", said Charles with its chest high. It recognized that Infernape was a fire-type Pokemon and even though it was a tier 1 king-rank Pokemon while Charizard was tier 2, it wanted to compete.
"No, don\'t go hard on this one. I want to help this young Pokemon. Just try to attack and defend but don\'t go all out." , said Axel.
Charizard was instantly sad that it could not use its powerful moves right off the bat. But it had to follow the command of its trainer. It knew that Axel would not say such things without any reason and it frankly didn\'t want to know the reason right now. Its mood was already sad after hearing that it could not go all out.
"Are you both ready for the battle?", asked the referee.
"Yes."
"Yes."
"Let the battle Begin!!", shouted the referee.
As instructed by Axel, Charizard didn\'t go all out. It didn\'t use \'Blaze\' or any other powerful moves. However, the same could not be said for Infernape.
Infernape immediately used the move \'Heat wave\' and suddenly the surrounding was covered with hot red waves. Charizard was not affected by it. It then used \'Sunny day\' and Charizard followed by \'Flame armor\' and then used \'Dragon dance\'.
After that Infernape used \'Agility\' and then \'Flare Blitz\'. Charizard used \'Dragon claw\' and then \'Iron tail\'. Infernape then went on to use \'Fury swipes\'.
However, these \'Fury swipes\' were different. First, it was using its fingers as claws. Secondly, those fingers were covered in a red aura of flame and instead of a normal attack, it looked like a fire attack. This was a modification of the move and Axel was pleasantly surprised by it.
Infernape also used \'Aerial ace\' which was also covered in this red fiery aura. This was getting interesting. Even though it was giving it all, Charizard had very high defense with its \'Flame armor\' and it was also dodging the attack. Infernape also got hit by a devastating \'Wing attack\' when Charizard started to get bored.
Even though there was only 1 sub-rank difference between them, Charizard had been a tier 2 king rank for a long time now and it had a wealth of experience, unlike Slowemperor for tier 3. So, Charizard was a very powerful Pokemon.
After fighting for 5 minutes, Charizard had started to get bored. It finally spoke to Infernape,
"You are not fighting right. This is not how a fire-type Pokemon should fight.", commented Charizard.
"What do you mean?", asked Infernape.
"We are fire-type Pokemon. Our power comes not only from manipulating fire-type energy around us but also from our emotions. Our emotions let us use our inner potential. How should I say it? Ummmm... to be a better fire-type Pokemon, you must have a fiery temper.
That doesn\'t mean that you should be angry all the time. I feel that you are holding a lot of emotions and not letting them out. Every move and every attack of yours are controlled and precise. That is not what I was taught. Why are you controlling everything about you? Why don\'t you just let go and be more beastly?"
"But if I do that I will make mistakes and I will not be able to fight properly."
"You are afraid of things that you have not even tried. Why are you scared about the mistakes? This is not a life and death battle. Why are you so scared? Don\'t you have your trainer to look after you? You should start to trust your trainer a bit more.", replied Charizard.
Charizard was not wise like Shedinja but it knew why it was so powerful. It was due to its free nature, letting everything go when it was fighting against anyone. It could do that cause it trusted Axel with its life.
Infernape thought about it for a few seconds. It realized that Charizard was speaking something profound but it could not grasp it. It wanted to let everything go but it had been training and fighting like this since its childhood. So, it could not let it go instantly.
But it thought to try it right now.
It immediately used \'Over heat\' but Charizard dodged it. It then used \'Dig\' and came out of the other end and then used \'Thunder punch\'. Charizard also used \'Thunder punch\' to counter it.
"Good, you are starting to learn.", said Charizard and it used \'Iron tail\' to hit Infernape on the face as it crashed down toward the ground.
"But you are still a kid..", continued Charizard with a smile.
Infernape then stood up and dusted itself. It then gave a big roar and activated \'Blaze\'. Its health was already low after fighting against Charizard for so long and now it could use its ability. Unlike Charizard, it could not use \'Blaze\', whenever it wanted.
After using \'Blaze\', it used \'Calm mind\' to literally calm its mind and then it increased its speed and attacked Charizard with the fury of punches and kicks. Charizard dodged some, defended some, and then attacked Infernape with its hands and tails.
It then backed away from Infernape and then said, "You call that a Blaze? Let me show you what a Blaze really is."

Suddenly, the temperature of the stadium increased a lot. Axel had already used \'Aura coat\' to protect itself. He knew how powerful \'Blaze\' of Charizard really was.
He looked and found out that Mia had also used \'Aura coat\' to cover herself from the massive hit.
After using \'Blaze\', Charizard used \'Flamethrower\' toward Infernape. During this meantime, Infernape closed its eyes as the fire that was surrounding its body was now being concentrated towards its hand and feet.
It used the compressed fire from its feet and literally jumped very high to reach towards Charizard and punched Charizard with its burning fist. This move was \'Burning aura\'.
For the first time in this entire battle, Charizard felt the attack of Infernape.
"Haha, that is what I am talking about.", shouted Charizard and then raised its fist made of blue fire and hit Infernape on its face. The power of this attack was so huge that even Axel felt the impact from that punch when he was on the ground and they were in the sky.

Axel didn\'t know that such a thing could also happen. While Axel was marveling at the new move, Mia was concentrating on Infernape. Everybody thought that Infernape was done but not Mia. She could feel that it was still awake.
It took a few seconds but Infernape stood with difficulty and then it looked at Charizard and gave a huge roar.

It then suddenly glowed in dark orange light.
