Chapter 810 Four Pillars: The One Left Behind
Chapter 810 Four Pillars: The One Left Behind
In the end, he let out a long exhale as he snapped back to reality, closing his eyes for a bit to make sure the conversation he had just now was real.
Then again, even if he didn\'t do something that, the items he held at the moment would more than change Valyr\'s mind that he had indeed talked to the last leader of humanity.
Someone who had lived for over a hundred thousand years at the very least.
"I still find it odd that his answers at the very end don\'t match up," muttered the young man to himself, focusing his attention on the items Vaughn had given him.
On his left hand was the statue that stood at the center of the barren spot, miniaturized with the help of the man\'s powers.
Then, on his right was a ball of wispy energy that looked more like smoke rather than actual energy.
However, if he were to focus his senses on it, he could feel the ball emanating an otherworldly aura, its feeling more or less similar to the feeling he got when entering the Gates of Awakening for the first time.
Confirming that he could indeed put both items into his spatial bracelet for the meantime, Valyr went ahead and used [Superior Analysis] to get a better idea of the items Vaughn had given him.
Ding!

[Statue for The One Left Behind] (Item)
Rarity: ???
A memento of a long-forgotten past. A mark of a time that was once lived. This statue serves as a solemn reminder for the only being that remained during that era, reminding them that if there was one thing constant aside from their existence, it was change.

[Wishes of The One Left Behind] (Item)
Rarity: ???
A response to the memento. A call to a time back in the past. Knowing that their actions have caused the loss of what was once a bountiful era, they have decided to take it up on themselves to right the things that were once wrong. Yet, they still could not separate themselves from the past they once lived.
And thus, they chose to combine them together, forming into a conviction that allowed them to achieve feats that would normally be considered impossible.

Reading through the descriptions of the items he had been given, Valyr had a solemn expression on his face as he was certain that the person being described in the items was none other than Vaughn.
After all, if he were to exclude the Forsaken Ones deep in the underground layers of the city ruins, only Vaughn was able to survive the Great Cataclysm.
Feeling immense guilt from the fact that he had caused all of humanity in Veldanyr during that time to disappear, the man wanted to right his wrongs, conducting experiments that would allow him to revive humanity again.
"Now that I think about it, I had the opportunity to talk about the Forsaken Ones down in Ecalos," said Valyr to himself, letting out a faint sigh as he shook his head in slight regret.
Though, as he thought about the ones underground like Ryvrthe and the others, it made him ponder over another question that he did not think of at first.
"Speaking of which… how was Vaughn able to survive the Great Cataclysm?"
From what he could recall during his conversation with Ryvrthe, humanity had access to abilities that seemed godlike in nature.
Though, in front of the Arbiters that arrived on Veldanyr, none of those abilities held up whatsoever, causing humanity to disappear from existence.
With that, Valyr thought that the Forsaken Ones surviving made a lot of sense since they were deep underground. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
"I wonder how he survived that?" asked Valyr to himself once more, eventually concluding that he would only obtain his answer once he entered the Gates of Transcendence.
After all, that\'s what Vaughn told him.
Thus, with the sense of urgency from the barren spot now gone, Valyr began to make his way out of the area.
Taking a look at how much time remained before the sun began set, the young man went ahead and activated [Arcane Shadow Drive], zooming through the true center of the city ruins as he made his way back to where his temporary resting place was.
At the same time, he took a look at his notifications, recalling that a series of notification sounds echoed in his mind the very moment Vaughn had given the statue and the ball of energy to him.
Ding!
Opening up a small screen to the side of his vision, Valyr skimmed through the notifications he had received, only for his eyes to slightly widen in surprise.
[You have completed part of the requirements for the quest: Traces of the Past.]
[Obtain items related to the last leader of humanity (3/3)]
[You have completed part of the requirements for the quest: Gates of Awakening\' Trial (5).]
[Obtain the Statue for The One Left Behind (1/1)]
[Obtain the Wishes of The One Left Behind (1/1)]
[Obtain the approval of The One Left Behind (1/1)]
Seeing how much progress he had made in his quests, the young man stopped in his tracks for a bit as he began to read through his notifications in greater detail.
"So, the two remaining items for Ryvrthe\'s quest are the same items needed to enter the Gates of Transcendence," muttered Valyr to himself as he wrapped his head around the situation.
"How would that work?" He slightly frowned. "Wouldn\'t the Gates of Transcendence consume the items if I try to enter the place?"
Deciding to think about the question again after he had obtained all the other requirements needed to enter the Gates of Transcendence, Valyr thought about the remaining objectives needed to complete Ryvrthe\'s quest.
"All that\'s left for me to do is to find out Vaughn\'s current whereabouts and share it with Ryvrthe."
Though he found it slightly odd that the quest did not mark the objective involving the man\'s whereabouts as complete, Valyr did not mind it much, thinking that the system wanted him to obtain information on the whereabouts of Vaughn\'s original body.
Of course, there were also the remaining objectives from the quest he received involving the Triad Gates. However, he decided to save those for a time when he returned from the camp.
For now…
It was time for him to kill some more feral humans.
