Chapter 868 Four Pillars: Loneliness

Chapter 868  Four Pillars: Loneliness

"Wait… you weren\'t at the Divine level before?" Looking at the man beside him, Valyr blurted out this question, only to realize his blunder soon after.

After all, the Divine level was a concept that only applied to those that had access to the system.

Aside from that, he had already seen Vaughn\'s strength firsthand back when he was fighting against the orcs at the final memory, which was at the extreme boundary between the peak of Rank 5 and the entry point of Rank 6 in power.

Knowing that Valyr had realized his own mistake from the expression he was making, Vaughn let out a faint chuckle as he paused the memory once more.

"I didn\'t have access to the system," replied the man, softly shaking his head. "How would I even enter the Myth level without it, much less the Divine level?"

"In any case, my lifespan was definitely longer than usual," added Vaughn not long after, explaining how Veldanyr\'s technology had given them ability to rewrite their genetic code.

Unsurprisingly, with this newfound ability, many of the humans in Veldanyr had decided to rewrite their code to live for longer, giving them the opportunity to live for close to 300 years or more. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

But of course, such an ability meant nothing after the two Arbiters had wreaked havoc against the entire civilization of Veldanyr.

Nevertheless, after confirming through Vaughn\'s words that Ryvrthe\'s small tidbit back then regarding Veldanyr society was true, a question soon popped up into Valyr\'s mind.

"I don\'t know how strong Arbiters really are when compared to someone that has a system, but by eternity, did they mean giving you the skill [Longevity]?"

"With how the system follows their every whim, I\'d say they\'re really strong even with the system in play." Saying those words, Vaughn shook his head. "Anyways, they did not give me [Longevity]."

"The higher variants of [Longevity], then? [Vast Longevity]? [Grand Longevity]?" asked Valyr after that.

"When they meant eternity, they really meant it." Though surprised where Valyr had obtained his information on such skills, Vaughn pushed such thoughts to the side as he shook his head.

Hearing that the two Arbiters had not given Vaughn any of the [Longevity] skills, only one skill remained in the young man\'s mind.

"So… [Immortality]."

"[Immortality]." Vaughn nodded back, only to smile soon after. "To be honest, I thought you\'d come to that conclusion first."

"I did," replied Valyr with a nod. "But I just wanted to be sure."

At those words, Vaughn faintly shrugged as he resumed the memory from where it left off.

"Eternity…" muttering one of the words Qro\'dovitch said to him, the young Vaughn looked at the two in a daze for a brief moment.

After all, from his perspective, such a deal seemed to only contain pure benefits for him.

Aside from the fact that he would obtain access to the system, he would also be able to live forever, which was a goal that he and many of the humans in Veldanyr had dreamed of achieving.

With that, there was a small trace of excitement deep within Vaughn\'s body as the Arbiters did their thing, giving Vaughn the ability to access the system, as well as the \'curse\' of immortality.

Ding!

Hearing a bell chime go off in his mind all of a sudden, Vaughn was caught slightly off guard as a monotonous voice began to speak in his mind.

Not long after, a series of holographic screens appeared before his field of vision, only for him to sense not long after that the makeup of his body had subtly changed.

Though he could not put what exactly about his body had changed, when he looked at the two faintly smiling back at him, he had a feeling that it had something to do with the eternity thing they were talking about.

Seeing that Vaughn had successfully adopted the Apparatus without any problems, Bagh\'rava and Qro\'dovitch looked at each other for a bit before nodding.

"It may be a shame that we weren\'t able to have an entire civilization adopt the Apparatus, but I guess the end result isn\'t all that bad."

Saying these words, the two then raised their hands in the air before releasing a great amount of mana into the atmosphere not long after.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

For a brief moment, the entire sky throughout Veldanyr seemed to take on the same color as the mana the two released, giving the whole place an otherworldly feeling if one were to look from afar.

While that was happening, Vaughn looked at what the two were doing with confusion written all over his face, wondering why the two were releasing mana all of a sudden.

Roar!!!

As a cacophony of roars and similar sounds echoed throughout the entire planet as the mana disappeared, it was only then did the duo\'s actions click in his mind, prompting him to look at the two with disbelief.

"There\'s no fun in a planet where you\'re the only sentient being to exist." Smiling at Vaughn, Bagh\'rava opened his mouth to speak.

"I hope you don\'t mind us populating this place with \'friends\' that you could interact with in the future," continued Qro\'dovitch where the first left off, letting out a bit of laughter soon after.

Hearing those words, Vaughn immediately stood up in anger, feeling his body return to peak condition after being given the \'curse\'.

Though, just as he was about to charge towards the two and land a strike, the man felt his entire body freeze in place, only to see that Bagh\'rava had shot out a ray of mana at him.

"Stay." At this point, the smiles in the two\'s expressions had been replaced with looks of contempt and disgust, seemingly revealing their true nature to Vaughn.

Glaring at the man for a bit, Bagh\'rava and Qro\'dovitch eventually coated their entire bodies in mana before propelling themselves beyond Veldanyr\'s atmosphere.

Whoosh!

With his body frozen by the ray of mana, Vaughn was left without much choice, staring off in the direction where the two flew.

Fortunately, it was only after another minute or so did he regain control over his body, prompting him to let out a sigh of relief.

Looking around the surroundings that once housed over a couple billion people, Vaughn soon sat down on the ground once more, only to close his eyes as he slowly fell asleep.
