Chapter 58: Chapter 58 – Edited Video
"Let me introduce you to today's guest, Breeze!"
When Flexy said that, Max's avatar appeared behind him from the air, landing perfectly like a superhero, it was dramatic and was given some effect to make it look better.
Following that, they made an agreement to attack the Fort Siege together, and the scene flashed, changing perspective immediately to Max's. He had sent the VOD to Flexy as requested just right after the livestream ended that day.
The previous 1st POV turned into the 3rd POV immediately, giving a clear idea of what happened when Max massacred the first batch of enemies they faced for Flexy's viewers.
First kill!
Triple kill!
Rampage!
Godlike!!!
Each time Max killed a barbarian with his axe, various sound effects and popping words appeared. They were pretty flashy and colorful, contrasting the Knight's Journey's dull color and full of mosaicked blood. It added the visual and made it look more animated than it should be.
When the first batch of the barbarian's army got massacred and Max turned around, an explosion effect appeared.
"Let's go. We're done here."
Max's voice rang through the speaker, a bit deeper than the real one. However, it was perfect with the image shown in the video, adding ambiance to the situation.
Once again, the video changed. It showed Flexy's POV as he watched Max reach his spot at the highest part of the hill. The split started.
And since Max hadn't seen Flexy's POV yet, he became quite interested, although the video was already edited heavily.
"Alright then. Guys, let's kill the boss before Breeze can reach the southern wall!"
— As if you can do it
— Do you think we will believe you?
— Pfft! You? I think you will die
[BloodSucker has started a mission.]
[Stream Mission: Die on the boss and let Breeze teach you wall run.]
[Reward: 5,000 diamonds.]
"Oh?"
"Oh?"
When Flexy spoke in the video, Max, who watched together with the streamer, also let out an interesting voice. He recognized the name. How could he not? It was the guy who gave him a lot of donations at once.
"So you got a mission from him?" Max asked.
"Hahaha… W-Well... For now, just watch." Flexy scratched the back of his head and dodged the question by pointing at the screen.
Max sighed and followed his suggestion. The video was still playing, and it now showed Flexy inside the castle, battling the barbarians with his sword and shield. It was the usual choice of a veteran player, as the sword and shield were versatile.
The orange-haired streamer skillfully dodged some of their attacks, blocking the one he couldn't with his shield. So far, the run was exciting, but the end was near and predictable.
Before long, Flexy arrived in the boss room, a large dining room with a man sitting at the end of the table. The man wore armor even when eating as if he knew an enemy would arrive soon.
A large sword was leaning against the table next to him, and he tried to reach it out.
"Uwoooohhhh!!"
Without waiting for the boss to finish his movement, Flexy jumped toward the nearby wall and tried to run on it.
— Uwoooghhh!!
— Can he do it?! Can he do it?!
— Flexy is flying!
— He's trying to imitate Breeze! Impostor! I hope you slip!
— Hey, remember my mission! I want to get back to Breeze!
Flexy's body was in the air, passing the large table, and his foot touched the wall. A grin appeared on his face, and he looked confident about what he did.
However…
"Huh?"
His foot didn't really move the way he wanted, and he slipped, just like what his viewers hoped. He fell to the ground, crashing against the table, and destroyed it.
— Kek
— He slipped!
— Noooo!! You fool! Idiot ******, kill yourself! KILL YOURSELF AND MAKE BREEZE SUFFER!!!
[BloodSucker is banned from the stream.]
[Stream Mission is canceled.]
— RIP
— Oh, lol. He got banned!
— And the boss is approaching.
While the chat became full of words because BloodSucker was banned and Flexy slipped, the boss began to move angrily toward him. He had his great sword above his head, ready to strike Flexy down into a paste.
"You are underestimating me, son!"
With those words from the boss, Flexy's life was no more. His head was split, and a mosaic filled the screen. The words 'You Are Dead' written in blood-like letters filled the screen, and the video changed once again.
It showed Max's confusion and disbelief as he landed on the tightrope perfectly.
"What?"
The scenery soon changed into the lobby, with Flexy apologizing to Max while scratching his head. It was a comedic scene, and the former's chat was making fun of him, just like the latter's.
All viewers blamed Flexy for ruining a good run.
However, their reaction changed once again when Flexy asked Max to teach him a wall run. They thought that everything was planned perfectly, while it was not. As proof, the edited video had Flexy's inner thoughts playing out loud.
"Safe! I can cover my mistake like this!"
To further emphasize it, big subtitles were written just right under Flexy's face. The video continued with Max teaching Flexy until the newly recruited disciple was able to do a wall run once.
The total duration was around 29 minutes, shorter than the actual livestream. However, it was packed and exciting.
A black screen with thank you words appeared after it ended.
Max exhaled a long sigh and leaned back against the chair he sat on.
"That was good. The editor did his best to deliver the edited version without missing the main point of the stream. Though I am quite surprised that BloodSucker gave you a mission." He looked at Flexy.
"Hahaha, me too. Well, I didn't expect him to give me a mission, either. I accepted it, but I never planned to throw the game. Also, it was thanks to Lisa that I didn't need to do anything about him. She banned him immediately."
"It's because he uses a banned word." Lisa, standing beside Flexy, answered. She looked as serious as usual. "And we need to return to our room soon, Flexy. There is a call you need to make."
"Oh, is it already at that time?" Flexy raised his eyebrows and looked at his smartwatch to check the time. Then, he turned to Max with an apologetic look, "Sorry, I can't stay any longer, my friend. I have an important meeting with my editor after this."
"No problem. We can talk again tomorrow." Max answered as he stood up.
Inside his mind, he was happy that Flexy didn't stay longer. He wanted to rest for the day already.
After both of them said goodbye, Flexy and Lisa left the room together. The secretary nodded at Max and gestured apologetically. It seemed like she knew that he didn't want to be bothered and pulled Flexy away.
He was thankful for the gesture.
"Now then… I need to make all my VODs public and then sleep. I also should set up my social media when I have time… Ugh, having no assistant is hard. Should I also find one like Flexy? Lisa seems to be capable and helps him a lot."
The list went on.
Max grumbled and sat on his bed. He realized that what he had just said wasn't realistic at all. There was a fundamental problem with that.
'I have no money to spend on such luxury yet. I guess I will do everything alone for a while.'
