Chapter 112: Chapter 112 – The Start of Breeze's Villain Arc

— He killed Flexy already…

— Breeze, you understand that he will revive on Day 2, right?

— This guy is so amusing lolol

— Every player revived after the day changed. Right now, he probably follows you as a ghost

— It's not probably. I just checked Flexy's stream, and he throws curses at Breeze while following him closely

— Now he's haunted lmao. Diee diee! I can hear Flexy saying that!

Max was aware of that.

Players who had died in a server that had other players playing on it would revive when the day was over. In the case there was only one player in the server, the day would be skipped, and the player would respawn immediately.

Their revival point was either in the last shelter they used to sleep in or the first spawn point if the shelter was destroyed.

Because there was no shelter built yet, Flexy would naturally respawn in the first spawn point.

"Guys, I can't help but run. I am scared of spiders. And Crawler is so creepy that I don't even want to get close. Did you see that giant head opening its mouth? I bet Flexy was eaten whole."

— You don't need to describe it.

— That was gore, indeed

— Someone clipped Flexy's stream. You can watch it later.

"Hahaha," Max laughed, "No thanks. I will let him keep the trauma by himself."

He continued walking to the meeting spot, a tall building near the spawn point. On the way, he managed to find a few Scraps that he would hand to StoneSword later, the one responsible for building the shelter.

Arriving at the meeting point, he saw that StoneSword and Lily had been waiting for him. They looked at him while the former had a tired expression.

"What happened to Flexy?" StoneSword asked Max as he stopped.

"H-He's…" Max had a hard time squeezing words from his throat. Not because he was sad, he tried his best to keep himself from laughing. "Crawler got him. I am scared of a spider, so I left him behind."

"I see." StoneSword accepted his explanation easily. "Let's go build the shelter."

"Alright. Oh, I got some Scraps with me. Please take it."

With that, the three of them walked to the location where they had agreed to build a shelter, somewhere near running water or the shop.

Meanwhile, following them was a slightly transparent figure. The three of them were unable to see him, but he was for sure able to see them. It was a ghost Flexy. He was in a state where he was waiting for revival.

(That's a lie! This liar! He waved his hand with a smile as he closed the door on me!)

He shouted angrily, pointing his trembling finger at Max.

(This guy!! To think he has the same plan as me! If that's how he does things, then I won't hold back! Hehehe, just wait. I will definitely get back at him!)

Flexy ran toward the other three, following them closely while casually throwing some funny faces in front of them. He couldn't be touched, and so he was free to do as he pleased.

Oblivious to what ghost Flexy did, everyone did their job. They had found the perfect place near the shop to build their shelter. It was an abandoned park with some trees growing around them, which worked as a natural defense, and a working fountain in the middle.

StoneSword exchanged the Scraps for extra material. Max and Lily were tasked to deal with the zombies in the area, which they finished easily. They didn't need the handgun to kill the zombies roaming the woods.

Thud!

The last zombie fell to the ground after getting stabbed right to its brain. Max swung his knife to clean it from the zombie's blood and pus. He looked at the ground for a second before turning toward the girl standing to the side.

"That's the last one. Shall we go back now, Lily?"

"Un. Brother should've finished the negotiation with the shady merchant soon." She answered with a nod.

They walked back together, side by side, through the trees. Max remembered StoneSword's explanation earlier, which was a bit surprising.

"Ah, he's haggling, right? I didn't know you needed to offer your own price to the merchant if you wanted to sell something. I was scammed by him before."

In real life, the term haggling was no longer used. All prices written in the item or anything was a fixed price. They also paid with digital money, which was the reason why the government made a rule of having only a fixed price for all products.

It reduced scams and fluctuations in prices for the same item.

That rule usually was also implemented in the game. All merchant NPCs already had their buy/sell price, which wouldn't change no matter what.

That was why people who played this game for the first time would usually be scammed. The shady merchant's AI was smart enough to fool people. He sold items above the market price and would buy one from the players way under the real price.

'If I knew I should haggle for the price, I wouldn't get scammed.'

This information was given by StoneSword earlier. As long as the player knew the price and what the merchant needed, they could even sell their items way above the standard market price.

When they arrived at the designated location, they were greeted with a level 1 shelter with 4 beds. The beds were crafted separately for save points for each of them. Only one person could save their respawn point in one bed.

StoneSword stood in front of the wooden structure, looking at them approaching him.

"Good job. We managed to build the shelter on time before night time arrived. The merchant in this seed is not as cunning as the others. I managed to get all the materials without any problem."

"This is honestly amazing." Max praised honestly.

He didn't think that he would be able to build a level 1 shelter with 4 beds and get 2 handguns if he did all of this alone. He was only lucky to get the expensive glove in his first run, which made him able to build his shelter.

"So we should skip the night for day 1?"

"Yes. We do have 2 handguns, but it's too dangerous. We have 15 days before the enemies are getting stronger. We need to sleep and change our save point on day one. Starting tomorrow, we will focus on building shelter during the day and finding weapons at night. There is a chance of better loot at night.

"Also, we need all the members we can have. So let's revive Flexy."

"Make sense." Max nodded.

The plan was made, and the day was over. They slept on different beds and blacked out. Once they opened their eyes again, morning had arrived.

StoneSword, as the leader of this party, spoke up first.

"Well then, let's meet up with Flexy and find some warehouse to loot. This time, we will go together." He looked at Max suspiciously as if he knew that he had purposely killed Flexy on day one.

"Sure! That will be a great idea." Max answered calmly, and they went to the spawn point.

'Well, this is actually perfect. Hehe, sorry StoneSword. But I don't plan on playing seriously in this collaboration. I'd rather have fun.'

The chat caught on to what he had planned.

— Do you think Breeze is planning something again?

— Look at his expression. It's as if he's thinking, 'It will be fun to massacre them.'

— No doubt. He's planning something nasty

— Sly Breeze. We've been given a laugh since earlier lolol. I love this

— 'How should I kill Flexy next?' That's literally written in his face.

— Well, this is also fine. Kekw. Let's call this villain's act hehehe

— The start of revenge. Killing each other as friends!

[It's Breeze's villain act! To be continued in the next chapter!]

— What chapter?! It's a livestream!

And they absolutely loved it.
