Chapter 189: Chapter 189 – Don’t Mess With Me!
— You've been blinded by greed, young man. You shouldn't do that.
— This is… your requiem. Greed breed mid…
— Fight it on a ring! I've prepared your boxing gloves.
"But, I mean… I expected it to be a scary monster. Guys, you never told me what I faced would be an apex predator!"
The kangaroo was pretty smart for an animal. And in this game, its intelligence was probably higher due to its advanced AI. In fact, he didn't know the monster would ambush him when he tried to track it.
"I need to be careful." He rose from his seat and exited the train. The trail was still visible, and he entered the forest once again while looking around cautiously.
He had learned. He would be a fool if he didn't raise his guard and get ambushed again.
The forest was as tranquil as before. Before long, he arrived at the cliff, where he was ambushed and noticed a patch of blood on the ground. That must be his.
"No more backflip or front flip this time."
— What a bummer
— I want to see your head popped like a watermelon again.
— No more headshot?
"Sorry to you guys, but I have a personal grudge against this monster. I will play around later."
Max broke into a run and jumped off the cliff once again. He kicked off the slope and reached the top without breaking a sweat. While midair, he unsheathed his sword and was ready to face anything waiting for him.
Clang!
That preparation paid off. Raxor was still waiting on top of the cliff and punched at him straight away. He was able to use his sword to deflect the monster kangaroo's fist, but the force still sent him flying toward the nearby tree.
Thankfully, it wasn't as bad as before. He spun midair to slow his movement down and landed on a large branch taller than the top of the cliff.
"There you are, you little bitch!"
Obviously, the monster wasn't little, but that wasn't something important right now. Max was now able to observe the culprit that killed him with one punch. If one needed to explain it in short, then it would be a bodybuilder kangaroo with sharp fur and a dense body packed with muscle.
There were spikes on its back, probably as a form of defense against an ambush.
"Grrrr…"
Raxor growled when it noticed that Max hadn't died. It narrowed its round eyes, revealing its predatory nature, and crouched. Then, without warning, it leaped toward him with a ridiculously fast speed. The jump itself created a sonic thud.
Watching the large monster leap at him like a rocket, Max jumped off the tree to avoid it. The monster crashed against the tree, pulverizing the trunk as if it were made from cardboard.
"Damn! I would die if I got hit by that."
It wouldn't be an understatement if he called the balance of this game was screwed. However, nothing was impossible.
Landing on the ground, Max immediately rushed toward where the kangaroo was. It was moving pretty strangely, looking rather dizzy from the collision against the tree. No matter how big or strong a monster was, it should've taken a bit of damage from that.
He unleashed a wide swing with his sword. It sliced through the air with precision, creating a deep cut on the kangaroo's leg.
"Aarrgggg!!" Raxor screamed painfully and attacked with its sturdy tail.
Expecting the counterattack, Max dodged with a swift backstep and narrowly evaded the tail. Due to its new injury, Raxor struggled to maintain its balance.
Seizing this opportunity to attack, Max delivered a rapid thrust toward its stomach. The sword pierced the strong fur, injuring the monster. Unfortunately, its muscle was too dense that it was hard to push through, so he had to pull his sword before the counterattack.
— Watch out watch out watch out!
— Dodge!
— THRUST THAT INTO MY BACK! Aaaaaahhh! Watch out!!
The chat desperately tried to warn him, but Max was already aware of Raxor's tail that was coming at him. He immediately raised his sword high to defend himself.
Clang!
A loud clang rang when Raxor's tail met with his sword, sending him hurtling back a few meters. The monster was desperate and cried loudly. It decided that its wound was too severe to continue the fight and actually turned around to leave.
"Stop at that, you kangaroo!"
Sensing that, Max broke into a full run once again. He leaped with all of his strength and propelled himself onto the monster's back, gripping its spike for leverage. He raised his sword high with the other hand.
The sword descended without letting Raxor shake him off. It landed on the monster's shoulder, leaving a deep cut into it. Raxor howled in pain as blood sprayed onto the ground.
But it was still a monster, a mighty creature. It didn't want to fall easily… At least without bringing its prey with it.
Suddenly, Raxor crouched once again and prepared to leap upward. It was the last desperate measure the monster could do to shake Max off its back.
"Oh, this is bad–"
Before Max finished his sentence, the ground shook heavily as Raxor's powerful legs coiled, launching both of them into the air. He tightened his grip against the monster's spike, knowing that he had to finish it right now or the monster's body would crush him.
As both of them soared upward, the wind rushed past them. The scenery from 20 meters above the ground was beautiful. Max would have enjoyed it if not for the fact he was now under a large monster's body and could be crushed to death anytime.
— There it is, the famous body slam!
— Hang on, Breeze! Get away from it!
— If you fall, you won't die. But if you get crushed, you will die!
— PASTE BREEZE! You will be a paste!
— Grounded by Raxor's spike, Breeze's new flavor!
Max tried to move, trying to angle his body to avoid the monster. There was one safe place he could think of. The kangaroo monster, just like the other kangaroos on Earth, had a pouch in its stomach. It was designed to protect its offspring.
"Aah, it's do or die!"
With a determined roar, Max began to climb the monster, gripping its fur to move. They had reached the highest point, and all it left was to fall down.
Climbing a monster body's midair wasn't easy. He stabbed Raxor's body with his sword and used it as a footstep.
Raxor howled in pain as the blade sunk deeper, disrupting its attempt to shake Max off. It became a chaotic struggle. He desperately held on, sword embedded in Raxor's flesh.
— What is he doing?
— Could it be…
— Hey, look!
The chat broke into excitement when they saw Max climbing Raxor's body while they fell. The ground looked so close now. There were only three seconds left.
After some desperate move, Max managed to slip into Raxor's belly and hid in its pocket like a baby. His sword wasn't really that important. It wouldn't break… probably.
And just a second later, both reached the ground. With a resounding thud, the monsters crashed against the ground. A large crack formed under it, and Raxor's body was destroyed. The monster died from the collision.
— HOLY!
— HE'S HIDING IN ITS BELLY!
— Baby Breeze. Uchu chu chu chu
— Say aaah
— But, did he survive? Tell me that he survived!
— Tell me that he survived!
The chat was anxious and worried.
Tension was formed. Their focus was on the belly of the monster, which bulged slightly because their favorite streamer was inside.
When the belly moved and Max crawled out, covered in blood, the chat immediately broke into cheers.
— Woooooo
— BREEZE! BREEZE!
— BABY BREEZE! WOHOOOO

Many donations poured in. Max broke into a grin when he saw it. He stood on the dead Raxor's body and raised his hand.
"That's why you don't mess with me, you kangaroo! I WON!"
