Chapter 192: Chapter 192 – New Streamer Gathering [2]
The girl was apparently something called Virtual Streamer.
When Max asked what that meant, she answered that she streamed with a concept and a different appearance from her real life. She pointed at her silver tiara and said that she assumed the role of a princess. She sounded arrogant and looked down on him when she was talking as part of roleplay.
'Roleplayer, huh? And this Virtual Streamer is similar to a Vtuber in my past life.' Max thought, nodding in understanding. 'Is arrogant character well-liked among people? Well, maybe some people enjoyed being looked down upon. I won't be surprised if such group exist.'
Meanwhile, the second group was more… normal. They were apparently a couple that ran a streaming channel together, focusing on vlog and culinary. Their channel name was CuteCookingCouple.
Amelia, the gathering organizer, invited them as they only started streaming 8 months ago and happened to meet each other in real life. Apparently, even when they had vlog content, their viewers usually reached 2 to 3K, which was impressive.
After they finished their introduction, it was Max's turn to introduce himself. When they found out that he had an average of 10 to 15K viewers lately, the streamers from Bamboo Talent expressed their surprise.
"Ah, I remembered. Aren't you the one who managed to beat MadLad in that Knight's Journey program? Thanks to this lighting, your face looked a bit different from the one on a billboard, so I didn't realize it. I am a fan; please give me your autograph!"
A spiked-blonde guy, Lightning912, took out an autograph board from the virtual inventory and handed it to Max. He said that he would print it later after they finished the gathering.
Smiling, Max happily gave him the autograph. Now, they just needed to wait for the last people to join the Lobby and start the gathering.
But then, Amelia suddenly said something surprising.
"It seems that they couldn't come."
Everyone's attention was grabbed by what she had said. Max also looked at the blue-haired girl with a questioning look.
Urged by the questioning gazes, Amelia continued.
"They messaged me just now, saying that they suddenly have an urgent matter. Hahaha, it's funny. They even asked me who had attended this gathering before, and they suddenly backed away."
Hearing that, Max had a strange realization. He looked at Amelia and asked.
"Is it because of me?"
As the last person invited to this gathering, according to MadLad, he had a suspicion that the last two didn't come because they found someone they didn't want to meet among the attendees. Call it arrogance, but Max was confident that it was him the reason why those two backed away.
'I am different from the other newbies.'
At that question, Amelia shot a troubled look at him as if affirming that was the real reason.
"Tsk!" MadLad clicked his tongue audibly, garnering Amelia's attention. "Coward. Are they afraid that their viewers would watch us instead? Amelia, just block them. Tell me their names through private messages so I won't be associated with them too."
"Me too, please." Lightning912 added with a frown, "If their reason for not attending the gathering for the last minute is because of their jealousy, then I don't want to be associated with those kinds of people. They will never improve!"
"I agree." Tiamat55, a dark-haired man with glasses, agreed. "Please tell me too."
"This Princess can't handle lowly people. Blocked." Princess Peachy huffed, "Besides, we can do a gathering with 8 people. It's enough to play an exciting game with this number of people."
The couple didn't say anything, but they seemed to agree with the others. It made Max feel a little bit better.
"You are right." Amelia nodded in agreement and turned to Max, giggling softly. "Well, don't feel so bad, Breeze. It's their fault and not yours. I also don't particularly mind, as I only invited them because they asked me to invite them in the past. Heck, if I knew their personality, I wouldn't invite them."
"Dude, let's just ignore those tiny-brained people who can't even think using that tiny brain that they have in the tiny head because of their inferiority complex. My words might sound confusing, but you know what I mean." MadLad said, doing his best not to curse by complicating his words.
Max laughed after hearing them. He didn't mind strangers' opinions as he knew the consequences of getting fame. Still, he was grateful that they tried to make him comfortable.
"It's fine, guys. More importantly, should we start? And how exactly would we start?" He asked curiously. "It's embarrassing, but this is the first gathering I attended… So I don't know what to do."
"Ah," Amelia exclaimed audibly, glaring at MadLad for a second before turning back at Max.
"What we do in the gathering is simple. We just have fun playing games and chatting. If the viewers ask us something, we can do it too. And it usually is hosted with a system called 'group streaming' Punch provided."
Group streaming. Max had heard that. In fact, it was also used by Biozone Entertainment when they streamed the Knight's Journey program. It combined all viewers from branch channels into a main channel that hosted the group streaming.
"Usually, I would be the host as I am the organizer and the one with the highest average viewers. But… Seeing that Breeze has more viewers and followers than me, it's only correct to give him the host's privilege."
"Huh? Is that okay?" Max was taken by surprise.
Being a host in a group streaming was a chance to increase their fame and followers. To think the organizer would just hand that right to him, a guest… It usually didn't happen.
"I don't mind. Does anyone disagree with me?" Amelia looked around, and most people shook their heads, gesturing that they didn't mind.
"Just do it, man… It's also beneficial to us if you host it. Your viewers often give stream missions, right? That will help us get a lot of content."
MadLad added a suggestion as he crossed his legs haughtily. Then, he smirked.
"I don't mind having my viewers visit your channel either. Heh, our content and stream schedule is so different, after all."
Indeed, that was the biggest privilege of the host, getting the interest of the guest's viewers. It would be foolish to give that privilege to other people.
Max considered it for a while. It was scary because it all only benefited him.
'Free stuff is the scariest!' He thought in his mind.
It would be far better if Amelia kept hosting the group streaming instead.
Sensing his hesitation to accept, Amelia smiled softly and patted his shoulder.
"How about this? You will become a host now, but you have to appear as a guest on my channel in the near future. I have a podcast every Monday morning, talking about random stuff for just 30 minutes to an hour. It won't be a problem, no?"
A fair exchange. She offered it after knowing what Max was worried about.
'She's quite perceptive.' He thought as he smiled.
Nodding his head, he readily agreed to host the group streaming.
"Very well."
With that, they busied themselves with preparation and got into their own position, scattered around the small Lobby.
When it was 8 PM, Max started his livestream.
