Chapter 160 - 154: Dragon Messenger’s Relic
“Yi!” (°v°*) (I’ve learned Space Crack after mastering Confusion Seal!)
Rainbow raised her head, her face full of pride.
Apparently, successfully learning this long-troubled space skill was quite an accomplishment for her.
David Jones nodded thoughtfully upon hearing this.
Could it be that the Confusion Seal he purchased had some similarities with Space Crack, allowing Rainbow to learn by analogy?
No matter, this was a rare piece of good news.
Rainbow’s power was already unrivaled at her level, and with the addition of so many new skills, her offensive capabilities were fully bolstered.
In celebration of Rainbow’s learning achievements, Daphne’s advancement, and Lolo’s diligent teaching, David Jones gritted his teeth and downed two large cups of Lolo’s specially-concocted spirit liquid that night.
This resulted in him lying weakly in bed the next morning, not even wanting to move his fingers.
If it weren’t for his excellent constitution, he wouldn’t have been able to handle the potency of those two cups of spirit liquid.
Although he paid a heavy price, the gains he reaped were impressive.
Apart from strengthening his three pets, he had successfully created ten Class II Dragon Crystals.
Next, in order to gather the resources necessary for Daphne’s evolution, David Jones spent his days practicing alchemy and cultivation, leaving only his evenings for pet and Dragon Crystal enhancement.
And so, time passed in an instant, and two more months went by without notice.
On March 13th, a sunny Monday, David Jones was in the Alchemy Chamber, using the Afterglow Array to link his spirit with Daphne’s, his face filled with seriousness. Occasionally, with a flick of his Confusion, several mature medicinal ingredients would be thrown into the Aurora Cauldron, and the dark red flames would immediately rise and envelop the ingredients for refining.
At that moment, a faint golden light flashed through his eyes, and he could clearly see five grey-brown elixirs gradually forming within the flames.
A few seconds later, David Jones’s eyes narrowed, and five pale-brown elixirs flew out of the cauldron, landing in the white jade bottle beside him.
“I didn’t expect the Nourishing Elixir to be much easier to refine than the Starfall Elixir,” he muttered.
[Nourishing Elixir]: A Class II A-tier elixir that can quickly restore physical strength, partially recover psychic power, and speed up wound healing.
The Heritage Relic of the Epic Dragoon was too dangerous, so in addition to the two bottles of Level IV Healing Potions he carried, he prepared many elixirs like:
[Miasma Elixir]: A Class II B-tier elixir that allows the user to ignore some of the poisonous gases formed in forests and swamps due to humidity and heat after consumption.
[Bitter Insect Powder]: A Class II B-tier elixir that can repel poisonous insects of Superior Species Level or below when scattered on the body or around it.
[Detoxification Elixir]: A Class II S-tier elixir that can quickly and effectively remove low-level toxins and slightly increase poison resistance after consumption.
After awakening his Penetrating Spirit Eye, his alchemy abilities began to excel.
Not only is his success rate at refining Starfall Elixirs higher now, but he can successfully refine the majority of Class II elixirs as well.
Storing these freshly made elixirs in his Star Ring, David Jones couldn’t help but recall his accomplishments over this period.
He had made more than a hundred bottles of Starfall Elixir in the past two months, over half of which he had already sold, netting him nearly 50 million Star coins.
But after deducting the cost of raw materials, his net profit was just over 20 million, still only a fifth of his small target.
As for the remaining 20 or so Starfall Elixirs, they had become stuck due to the pharmacy hall owner’s inability to bear the risk.
Over this period of refining elixirs, David Jones’s Arcane Star Cultivation skill reached a peak at Class III medium stage.
Rainbow’s strength also advanced from Class III lower-level to middle-level under the enhancement of Chilling Blood and Dragon-Wielding power.
As for Daphne, her innate flame had become sufficient for refining various elixirs after advancing., and the duo even increased their rapport during the alchemy process.
So, for David Jones, the Aurora Kindling within the Aurora Cauldron had become useless.
Therefore, to test the effectiveness of Daphne’s Swallow Flame skill, David had forcefully plucked the Aurora Kindling from the cauldron and fed it to Daphne.
After swallowing the Aurora Kindling, Daphne’s strength improved on that very day from upper Class I to lower Class II, her innate flame also became much more potent.
This couldn’t help but make David start thinking about getting the fire seeds of other Beasts as well!
Unfortunately, the Beastmaster Store mostly sold these high-quality fire seeds bundled with cauldrons, making it impossible for him to buy them individually, and he wasn’t interested in the lower-level ones.
As for the remaining Lolo, David could not observe its specific abilities or skills at all.
Even when he asked it directly, Lolo appeared to be clueless, not knowing the answers to any of his questions, as if it itself did not know what skills it possessed.
David could only give up asking, as after all, he didn’t know much about King Beasts either.
So, the only change in Lolo during this time was its size!
Yes, that’s right, it got fatter!
March 14th, Tuesday.
David received a call from Guildmaster Maud.
“Tomorrow is the opening of the Heritage Relic, are you ready?” Guildmaster Maud asked while looking at the statue below the Beastmaster Building.
“I’m ready,” David decisively replied.
It’s just about passing the days and leisurely doing some work; how could he not know how to do such a simple thing?
Upon hearing this, Guildmaster Maud’s eyes flashed with understanding.
As expected, although this kid seemed to be cowardly on the surface, he was actually very capable.
Perhaps this time around, the Heritage Relic left by Seamus Coldwell would be successfully inherited and unraveled by David.
“I will still be leading the team this time. The Heritage Relic will open at 12 noon tomorrow. Can we leave tomorrow morning at 8 o’clock sharp?” Guildmaster Maud asked for his opinion.
“Will we make it in time?” David asked in surprise.
The Heritage Relic was located in Sunhead City, a Level II city in Sunbeam Province, which was very far away from Waterland City.
“No worries, we can use the Portal to travel,” smiled Guildmaster Maud.
If he were to travel to Sunhead City on Indigo, it would take him at least tens of hours. This was enough time for him to go back and forth between Waterland City and Suntomb City.
That’s why he decided to take the Portal. Although it was a bit expensive, he could afford it.
“Portal?” David was confused by a hint of puzzlement on his face.
How could there be a Portal in this poor and desolate Waterland City?
“All Level I and Level II cities in the Flowery Kingdom have Space Portals. You can travel between two distant cities in just a few seconds; it’s very convenient,” Guildmaster Maud explained.
“We can fly to the closest Level II city, Celebration City, on Indigo and then use the Portal to teleport directly to Sunhead City.”
David nodded, “Got it.”
In the end, Guildmaster Maud reminded him, “Rest well tonight, and strive to break through this Heritage Relic tomorrow. Let’s earn some more glory for Waterland City.”
David:
