Chapter 289 - 283: Scarlet Catastrophe
“David Jones, come with me for a moment, the rest of you are dismissed.”
With a look of stern seriousness, Audrey Harvey swept her gaze over the charged atmosphere of her new students before dropping those words and exiting the classroom.
Upon hearing this, David, under the admiring eyes of his peers, silently followed Audrey out.
“Remember to be safe during this military training,” Audrey warned as they walked.
“Understood,” David nodded.
In his perspective, with the protection and guidance of the Beast Legion, there shouldn’t be any safety issues during the training.
“Unlike previous trainings, this time it will take place on Everlasting Island in Brook City. Everlasting Island was the origin of the Scarlet Catastrophe. Although the legion has eliminated and cleaned up many times over there, some hidden regions may still contain unknown beasts from the bizarre breeds.’1
Audrey warned as she noticed David’s carefree attitude.
“Scarlet Catastrophe!!!”
David’s pupils contracted, and information about the Scarlet Catastrophe surged into his mind.
Sixteen years prior, Everlasting Island was a large island abundant in water and dark beasts. The island housed eight King Beastmasters, and even two epic beast trainers.
If one were to compare the strength and number of beastmasters, Everlasting Island could be compared to some common Level II Cities.
However, this powerful island was destroyed overnight by the sudden appearance of an Abyssal Dungeon!
Under the leadership of the legendary Demonic Beast, a Beast Tide engulfed Everlasting Island.
Even with the two epic beast trainers leading the fight alongside numerous beastmasters, they couldn’t hold out until the legendary warriors of the Flowery Kingdom arrived. In the end, Everlasting Island fell completely, with less than one percent surviving.
The Flowery Kingdom finally dispatched the Beast Legion to suppress and seal the Abyssal Dungeon on Everlasting Island. Still, this tragic catastrophe quickly spread across the entire Flowery Kingdom, leaving David, who was only three years old at the time, with a profound impression.
“Why would they arrange such a dangerous place for this year’s military training?” David asked incredulously.
Although he knew that the Abyssal Dungeon on Everlasting Island was sealed by the Trainer Guild, what if the Demonic Beast broke the seal?
“Don’t worry too much. The Abyssal Dungeon on Everlasting Island has been completely annihilated by the Trainer Guild. The training area this year is in a Blessed Dungeon discovered on Everlasting Island last year.”
Seeing David’s tense face, Audrey said with a smile.
Beast Masters mustn’t lose their vigilance under any circumstances, or the consequences would be unpredictable.
To prevent any accidents during the training due to carelessness, she had decided to let David know all the potential dangers of this training.
“This Blessed Dungeon is only of Apprentice level, but it is full of relics from the Neolithic Era. These relics are even believed to have a substantial connection with the Origin Emperor, who is nearly a godlike figure,” said Audrey Harvey.
“The Origin Emperor!”
Hearing about this widely acclaimed legendary figure, a trace of seriousness veiled David’s face.
“Yes, it’s the Origin Emperor you are thinking about right now,” Audrey affirmed, nodding slightly.
“This Apprentice Dungeon is very unusual – filled with all sorts of high-tech Gundam Mecha relics. Inside, there even seems to be ships capable of challenging Overlords and legendary beasts.
However, notwithstanding these factors, the main thing about this dungeon is that only beast trainers under the age of twenty are allowed entry. Moreover, Demonic beasts that survived the Scarlet Catastrophe might still be inside, which is why I am warning you to be careful,” Audrey continued.
“Sounds really dangerous. Is this meant to be a training exercise for students, or a death sentence?” David Jones forced himself to appear calm, speaking with seeming indifference.
If he was still full of anticipation for the military training before, then upon hearing this, the only thought left in his mind is to hurry to the Pharmacist Guild in Rosewood City today to get a junior pharmacist certification and use this as an excuse to escape the military training.
What a joke!
An epic mecha and battleship, no less than the overlord or the legend, is in the relic of an apprentice dungeon. It must be said that the danger level of this relic is almost on par with champion level dungeon.
“That won’t be the case, the mecha and battleship inside the ruin will actively guard and monitor the beast trainers who enter the ruins.
A few dozen batches of explorers have entered this Blessed Dungeon, and although there have been a few cases of attacks by Demonic Beasts on the explorers during this period, they were all resolved by the mechas and battleships inside the ruins.
So far, not a single case of an explorer’s death has occurred, which can be considered a rather safe Blessed Dungeon.”
Upon hearing David’s words, Audrey Harvey’s face turned strange.
The leaders of the Trainer Guild are not fools, how could they possibly send the promising students to extremely dangerous dungeons.
“The Guardians of the Overlord level or even Legendary level?”
David’s eyes brightened.
Yes, the Guardians of this level of strength are very reliable just by hearing about it!
“Can they communicate normally with the mechas and battle armors inside the relics?” David asked curiously.
“Of course you can. If you can gain the recognition of the mecha battleships inside the relics, you can even make a Beast Taming Contract with them.” Audrey nodded.
“However, in the past year, the highest level of mecha recruited by the Beast Legion within the relic is only the Sixth-Order King. If you are confident, you can try to recruit the Overlord Mecha Gundam inside.” Audrey looked at David expectantly.
If the younger brother can recruit a Seventh-Order Overlord Beast like Lolo successfuly, then it seems that it is not impossible for him to recruit a Seventh-Order Overlord Gundam!
Upon noticing Audrey’s confidence in herself through her words, David’s expression became slightly stiff.
His Dragon-Wielding talent only works on Dragon type beasts, mechanical Gundams should really be forgotten!
After bidding Audrey goodbye, David quickly rushed to the school cafeteria.
“Are you planning to join a school club?” At the dinner table, Margaret Yule asked David.
The beginning of each school year at Rosewood College is the best time for the college clubs to recruit new members. If possible, she wants to join the same club as David.
“That’s too much of a waste of time.”
After saying that, David shook his head, then picked up a steamed dragon fish piece and put it in his mouth to taste it carefully.
“Oh, I see!” Margaret responded somewhat disappointedly.
“Why, do you have a club you want to join?” Upon seeing this, David asked curiously.
“The Pharmacy Club is a good choice, but the threshold for entering the Pharmacy Club is too high, only Alchemist of at least Flare II or above are allowed to join the club.” Margaret expressed some regret.
“Do you really want to give up Training Beasts to choose Pharmacy?” David was slightly surprised.
You must know that Margaret is only at the level of a pharmacist now.
“Not really. Compared to pharmacy, I am more suited for beast taming and doing business. The Pharmacy Club is one of the most popular clubs at Rosewood College. If you can get in, you will be able to access a huge amount of beast resources very quickly.” Margaret suggested..
