Chapter 595: 589: The Dragon Palace's Secret Treasure
Gazing at the sea where the Abyssal Mystery Dragon had disappeared, David Jones let out a breath of frustration, inadvertently snapping an ancient tree thick enough to be hugged by a person in half.
This caused the Flower Spirit to tremble, and it instinctively looked down at its fragile body, fearing that it would share the same fate as the ancient tree.
“I shouldn’t be that unlucky,” David Jones muttered to himself, feeling vaguely uneasy.
As a Calamity-level Mysterious Beast, a fully grown Abyssal Mystery Dragon possessed incredible strength, a disaster that only those at Legend rank and above could suppress.
Logically speaking, once a Mysterious Beast of the Abyssal Mystery Dragon’s level appears, not only the Wastewater Archipelago but even the Coastal West Zone would suffer from its terrifying invasive abilities, resulting in mass deaths.
The Vortex Tiger Whale, the overlord of the Coastal West Zone, may be strong, but it too would be unable to prevent such a fearful calamity of death, and might even become one of its victims.
But strangely, the Wastewater Archipelago remained peaceful, as if it were the calm before the storm.
“There’s definitely something wrong with this island!!!”
David Jones was certain that an Abyssal Mystery Dragon would never lurk around a barren island without reason, unless there was something on the island that the Mysterious Beast needed to obtain.
While he couldn’t pinpoint what that thing was, he knew it was time to run!
David Jones wasn’t some hot-headed young whippersnapper; his reason told him that this was a matter for the higher-ups of the Trainer Guild to handle.
A student who wasn’t even a King-class Trainer rushing in would do nothing but face sudden disaster!
Seeing David Jones’s grim expression, the Flower Spirit cautiously stepped back a few paces, then the bud on its head flickered with a faint light, and its petite body quickly became transparent and invisible.
However, before it could get far, a pale hand suddenly grasped its throat.
“Teacher, it’s trying to run. Should I kill it?”
Perfect pronunciation with a hint of Waterland City accent flowed in the flowery language from Rossetti Lindwood’s mouth.
“Flower!”
The Flower Spirit hugged its head with both hands, shivering with fear.
It didn’t understand the flowery language, but it could sense the cold intent to kill in Rossetti Lindwood’s words.
“Don’t rush.”
David Jones crouched down and took the Flower Spirit from Rossetti Lindwood’s hands.
Unspoken, with Rossetti Lindwood playing the bad cop and the basic Affinity that came with Dragon-Wielding (which rarely increased Affinity with non-Dragon-type Pets), this little one was now much less resistant to physical contact with him.
“Do you want to come with me? I have thirty acres of magical plants and elixirs for you to take care of.”
David Jones casually pulled out a Silverwing Herb and placed it in front of the Flower Spirit, causing its expression to slightly startle.
Upon seeing this, Rainbow blinked her eyes and projected a vision of a Mesona Space with flourishing elixir fields using Psychic Mimicry.
The dazzling array of advanced mesona plants enlightened the Flower Spirit’s eyes, and it opened its mouth slightly in awe.
For a Flower Spirit of Class V, lower-level strength, and weak combat ability, it would be a Herculean task to keep even one Level V elixir alive in the wilderness.
But what had it just seen?
A large number of Level VI mesonas that it had hardly ever seen growing together, vying for beauty—a scene so dreamlike that it wouldn’t even dare to imagine it.
“Flower!” (I can do it!)
The Flower Spirit, no longer afraid as before, clutched David Jones’s hand tightly, even somewhat impatiently.
Obviously, even if it died, it would rather die among so many Level VI mesona plants!
Feeling the smooth and moist touch from his palm, David Jones smiled slightly.
As Lolo’s strength grew, the size of the elixir fields inside the Mesona Space only got bigger, and the need for taking care of and planting more elixirs increased as well.
Lolo was fine when she wasn’t busy, but once things got hectic, relying on just a Fresh Immortal Dragon to tend to the medicinal fields was far from sufficient.
Now with the addition of a Level V Flower Spirit, it was expected that the Immortal Dragon’s workload would be significantly reduced.
Glancing at the sea area where the Abyssal Mystery Dragon dwelled, David Jones decided to forgo the Wood Spirit and leave this perilous island straight away.
“Thank you for your hard work!”
David Jones couldn’t help but pet Loona’s head.
It had to be said, having a pet capable of predicting Calamity by his side meant he was confident with every move he made.
“Meh!” (We’d better leave this place as soon as possible!)
Loona looked at the domain of the Abyssal Mystery Dragon and let out a somewhat dazed light roar.
Not only David Jones but Loona also felt a touch of familiarity emanating from the illusory shadow of the Abyssal Mystery Dragon created by Psychic Mimicry.
“Roar.” (Information on abnormal activities of Mysterious Beasts in this area has been uploaded to the Trainer Guild’s official website.)
The red glow in the eyes of the Gluttonous Beast slowly subsided, revealing its pitch-black draconic pupils, indicating that the mission was complete.
David Jones: “Good, let’s get going now.”
Under the guidance of the Flower Spirit, David Jones rode upon Rainbow, flying in the opposite direction of the Mysterious Dragon’s sea territory.
They easily crossed the territory of a Level VI Dynaean Land Spider, adept at concealing its presence, and reached the island’s central area, swiftly escaping with the speed of flashes of lightning.
But sometimes the more you fear something, the more likely it is to happen!
Just when David Jones thought they could leave smoothly, an ear-splitting roar suddenly erupted.
Vast currents swallowed extensive swaths of forests, and furious waves howled incessantly, the aftermath of two Level VI King-class Beasts battling spread through the island in an instant, and an extremely fierce water dragon nearly soared into the sky, almost causing the Flower Spirit to plummet.
“Mu!” (Here we go again!)
The Flower Spirit rushed into David Jones’s arms for protection.
Every couple of days, over something unknown, the lower-level Level VI Vortex Tiger Whale and the middle-level Level VI Wood Spirit would erupt into a battle that affected the entire island.
Except for the strong Dynaean Land Spider, which remained unaffected, all other Beasts had to be wary of potentially deadly ancient trees and waves that could occur at any moment around them.
“These two creatures are so boisterous; it’s a wonder they have not been casually crushed by the Abyssal Mystery Dragon,” David Jones marveled inwardly.
“Never mind them, just go around.” Seeing Rainbow’s disgruntled look, David Jones quickly directed.
Hearing this, Rainbow canceled the Dragon Breath forming in its mouth and shot a fierce glare at the Vortex Tiger Whale engaging in fierce battle below.
At this moment, unaware of its narrow escape from death, the Vortex Tiger Whale continued to declare war loudly.
“Ying!” (Hand over the Secret Relic of the Dragon Palace, or you’re doomed.)
The coast’s rolling primordial forest suddenly sprouted interwoven branches, with lush treetops soaring high, followed by a giant tree draped in oddly shaped branches and tens of meters in length appearing at the forest’s edge.
If one looked closely through the leaves that obscured the sky, they could see that the existence controlling the ancient tree was actually a Wood Spirit, which had fused with the main branch and the tree.
“Hoo?” (Just you?)
Its slender fingers were still holding an indistinct jade plaque, with a gaze that was cold and indifferent.
Listening to the conversation between the two Beasts, David Jones was taken aback and turned to look at Rainbow.
As expected, Rainbow’s eyes were bright and glowing, showing a greedy expression.
“Yee!” (✧◡✧) (The Secret Relic of the Dragon Palace!)
