Chapter 99 - 99: Taking Photos
“Purple has been going to the hospital frequently enough lately. Since it’s nothing serious this time, let’s not go to the hospital,” Alexander said casually.
Atra Blanc agreed with this and turned to Purple Summers, saying, “Your hand’s bone has just been reconnected, so don’t use it for now. Let mom feed you.”
Purple wanted to say that she could use her left hand, but her mother had always been very doting on her and had already picked up the tableware without waiting for her to say anything.
The dishes served were all Purple’s favorites.
After eating for a while, Alexander asked, “Mom, is there any soup left in the kitchen?”
“Ah.” Atra Blanc hurriedly got up and quickly went to the kitchen, “I forgot, there’s still soup in the pot.”
As Atra Blanc left, Alexander took over the task of feeding Purple.
Purple was repulsed by him, turned her face away, and refused to eat the food he fed her.
“Do you want to eat with a spoon, or should I feed you with my mouth?” Alexander threatened her.
Alexander had no bottom line, and even in front of Atra Blanc, he would probably do such a thing.
Purple swallowed her anger and took a bite of the food, coldly mocking him, “Bullying women, what kind of man are you!”
Alexander leaned in to bite her ear, “Purple, a real man knows how to bully women.”
“Despicable!” Purple scolded him, biting down hard on the soup spoon and forcefully eating the food.
Atra Blanc returned with the soup, Purple drank another bowl, and then said she was full and wanted to go back to her room to rest.
She had only just woken up not too long ago, and had no desire to sleep at the moment, but merely wanted to avoid Alexander.
Once she returned to her room, Purple heard Alexander’s footsteps.
She was extremely tense, not relaxing until the sound of footsteps passed her room door and went straight down the stairs.
She gently approached the door and cracked it open a bit, listening to Atra Blanc complaining downstairs, “It’s already nighttime, what can’t wait until tomorrow? … Will you come back tonight?”
Following these words was the sound of the door lock opening and closing again.
Alexander had left.
He had encountered an assassination attempt today, and now would definitely have to investigate it, perhaps even reporting the matter to Master Xander.
Purple breathed a small sigh of relief. At least for the next few days, Alexander would be quite busy.
Once he got busy, he wouldn’t have time to torment her.
The next day, Purple and Atra Blanc’s tight-fitting slit dresses were ready, and people from Blackriver had delivered the clothes to the Summers Residence.
All kinds of styles, whether dignified, charming, dainty, or elegant, each one was breathtakingly beautiful, and without exception, they all fit perfectly on Purple.
Wearing beautiful clothes, Purple’s mood finally seemed a bit brighter. Even though Alexander had paid for these clothes.
Atra Blanc’s mood was also great. Since Elder Master Summers passed away, she had hardly dressed up, wearing plain and low-key clothing every day. Today, dressed like this, she looked particularly dignified and elegant, like a lady from a prestigious family.
There was no doubt that Atra Blanc was a good woman; she was beautiful and not materialistic. She didn’t go shopping or go to beauty salons, and she didn’t even know how to play the popular mahjong among the ladies. Every day, she did housework and studied recipes, being virtuous beyond words.
Sometimes, Purple couldn’t understand why Atra Blanc had agreed to become Elder Master Summers’ mistress.
A maid who was close to Atra Blanc complimented them, “Ms. Blanc and Miss Purple look like sisters dressed like this! We should take a photo; it would be beautiful!”
Atra Blanc smiled shyly and said embarrassingly, “Sisters? I’m already at this age…”
However, Purple had always been difficult to deal with, and the mother and daughter had not taken a photo together in many years. Atra Blanc was somewhat tempted by the maid’s words.
“Let’s take the photos in the garden.” Purple said with a smile, “I’ll get the
camera..”
