Chapter 184 - 184: Seeking Help (Extra update for over a thousand recommendation tickets)
Purple Summers laughed lightly: “How did I harm you? The answer was given by Yolanda, and your father hit you. What does it have to do with me?”
After she finished speaking, she forcefully pushed Laura away.
Laura stumbled back a few steps and froze.
The one who suggested the idea was Yolanda, and the one who hit her was Dylan Summers. What did it have to do with Purple Summers?
…No, that’s not right!
That’s not how it happened!
They had originally planned it so well, but it was Purple that sabotaged it and it was Purple’s fault… It was all Purple’s fault!
The one who should have been expelled was Purple!
As Laura came to her senses, she looked up with resentment, but Purple had already turned and walked away.
Dylan Summers was on the phone in his study, trying to contact friends who could help, but to no avail.
Grey Academy was strict with academics, and buying answers and cheating seriously violated school discipline. They have always dealt with such cases by expelling the students without any leeway.
Dylan humbled himself and said many good things, but no one was willing to help him.
He was furious!
Yolanda had just finished her club activities at school and returned home.
As soon as she walked in the door, Yolanda learned from a servant that Laura had been beaten.
She immediately knew that the matter had been exposed and silently cursed Laura for being stupid, failing to handle even the smallest of things.
But when she saw Laura’s injuries on her face and body, Yolanda was shocked!
She couldn’t believe that her father would be so heavy-handed!
“Was it you who got the answers for Laura?” asked Dylan in a deep and gloomy voice, barely containing his anger.
Yolanda wanted to explain, but when she saw the bruise on Laura’s face, her heart raced, and she lowered her head and replied softly, “Father, I heard about it from Laura, but I’m not quite clear…”
Yolanda was afraid her father would hit her too.
Laura listened in both shock and anger, pointing at Yolanda, “Why won’t you admit it?! It was your idea in the first place!”
“Laura, calm down,” Yolanda said with a slightly restrained look, taking a half-step back. “I know you hate Purple, but… you’ve been too reckless this time. Instead of dragging me into it now, you should think about how to solve the current problem.”
Dylan looked at Yolanda, his eyes showing a hint of relief – at least he had one sensible daughter.
Laura didn’t expect Yolanda to deny the connection, and she jumped up angrily, “You clearly suggested it! You said that as long as Purple was caught cheating during the exam, she would be expelled!”
“I did say that…” Yolanda’s expression was obscure, and she spoke slowly, “But I didn’t do anything, and I didn’t expect that after a few casual complaints, you would actually go and buy the answers…”
Laura went mad and grabbed Yolanda.
“Enough!” Dylan yelled abruptly. The ugly behavior of his daughters made him even more upset.
The sisters both shrank back and froze in place, not daring to make any more noise or movements.
Dylan snorted heavily and left the room with a sullen face.
He didn’t hit Laura again. The situation had reached this point, and even beating his daughter to death would be useless. The most important thing now was to find a solution.
Dylan called Nathaniel Summers.
Mrs. Jameson held great prestige in Grey Academy’s school board. If he could ask for her help, the problem would be resolved naturally.
Nathaniel hadn’t shown up for quite some time.
Since the last banquet, he had been living in his company, possibly out of shame. Each time Jade Carlson tried to see him, he used his busy work schedule as an excuse to refuse her.
When Nathaniel received the call from Dylan, he was surprised.
“Nathaniel, have you been in contact with Henry Jameson recently?” Dylan asked tentatively.
“No, he’s been busy with his business startup.” Nathaniel asked, “Big brother, is there something wrong?”
“Uh… Something happened at home..”
