Chapter 86: Loan-shark problem

She heard a door knock and was perplexed about who could be visiting the house at the moment. She thought it might be her neighbor.

Since her husband and the man next door worked at the same company, the relationship between the wives became closer.

With a smile, she walked to the door and was about to open, when a harsher thud slammed the door.

"Who\'s it?" She asked—the visitors\' intention must have no good and she refused to open the door. It should never be the wife\'s style next door.

Hurried knockings halted.

"Open up. I promised you yesterday, we\'ll keep on harassing your family if your family doesn\'t pay your brother-in-law\'s debt."

Chu Ying realized the identity of the man who shouted through the door and her face transformed into fear. Her eyes widened at the realization that she was alone with her daughter.

They shouldn\'t destroy the door and forcibly come in, could they? Chu Ying soothed her agitated mood.

It was a few days ago, her husband drove away the men who asked for the debt with the machete. Their family was making their end meet and never reached their hand to loan sharks.

They might not be wealthy but they still felt satisfied. Unfortunately, it was her husband\'s brother who lost in gambling and owed the money.

Her good-for-nothing brother-in-law didn\'t take responsibility and transferred the guilt to her family.

If the debt amount was not too large, their family could solve the problem without any further crisis. The imagination was beautiful but these men had shark\'s stomach.

Thinking of the event, blood rushed behind Chu Ying\'s head and she almost became dizzy from anger.

They never offended others nor broke any law. Disaster fell on them. She thought these men would retreat in the face of their family\'s resolved attitude.

Instead, they brought more men. Chu Ying could hear their conversation and guess the number. At least, she was safe inside.

Not for long, the door was breached and five men flooded in. Chu Ying exclaimed wildly, scaring the daughter inside the kitchen to come out.

"Don\'t come any closer or I\'ll call the police." Chu Ying retreated and reached for her phone.

A man stepped forward aggressively and whacked away the phone, breaking it into pieces.

"Ahh!" In the process, Chu Ying was pushed and lost her balance, slipping to the floor. Her daughter cried out in pain.

"Mommy!" Her little padded jacket rushed to her embrace, with a worried face.

A child didn\'t understand anything. She knew these strong men came in and hurt her mother, destroying their belongings. They were bad guys.

"Call what? Even if you call, we aren\'t afraid—it\'s just a couple of confined stay inside for a week or more and then we\'ll be out." One of the men lashed out.

"Brother is right. As long as you don\'t pay the money, we\'ll keep on harassing you. We\'ll see if you can continue to stay put." Another man added.

Chu Ying was speechless as they were the truth. The rule of law in Province N worsened day by day so that criminals no longer had awe and fear as long as they didn\'t offend the big shot.

Perhaps once or twice her family could withstand but their peaceful life was gone. Tears welled in her eyes as despair set in. Her body shook in fright.

Glasses shattered as these men wantonly demolished everything inside.

One of them knelt in front of Chu Ying and cupped her chin up, kneading her soft skin as he ogled. Chu Ying understood that look. Both disgust and powerlessness arose within her heart.

"Our boss has taken a liking to you. Why don\'t serve our brothers? Your husband can\'t always protect you. Remember our number isn\'t a fraction of what you saw." He said frivolously.

When his eyes went toward her daughter, Chu Ying burst out: "Leave my child alone!"

"What the heck are you all doing? Do you have any regard for the law?!"

A sudden outcry stunned everyone in silence. Looking at the source of the voice, they saw a young tall girl wearing a capable white attire and her allure strengthened the eyes of the men.

Her angry expression itched their hearts. Beside her another stunning girl also appeared and seemed to be protecting the girl in the white dress, brightening their eyes.

Some whistled at the two girls and menacingly inched closer. The woman exclaimed, her voice worried. "Miss Sister, please leave and call the authority for help!"

Ling Qingyu noticed their unscrupulous eyes but she wasn\'t worried. She had confidence in Xiao Yue\'s capability.

To be frank, Ling Qingyu was initially scared, confronting a group of men. It was the most stupid idea in Ling Qingyu\'s belief. But glancing at Xiao Yue, she realized her partner was unfazed.

So, Ling Qingyu\'s confidence grew and Tang Ziyi was present downstairs. In case the situation worsened, it wouldn\'t be long before she rushed into the scene.

Suddenly, Ling Qingyu heard a sound. A boy aged around 8 years old came in and hugged the little girl, along with a mature woman holding a meat-cutting knife.

Ling Qingyu\'s eyelid twitched. Xiao Yue on the side had a big head. So aggressive!

"Sister Yan, why are you here? You shouldn\'t have come." Chu Ying\'s shout answered Ling Qingyu\'s doubt. The new woman might be the neighbor.

"Our family are very close from the beginning. Do you want me to ignore your troubles? How do I live my conscience afterward?" The woman named Yan replied and Ling Qingyu nodded silently in her heart. "Don\'t worry I\'ve called my husband and they\'ll come soon."

The worst way to live life was in guilty conscience as it ate everything about you.

Both Ling Qingyu and Xiao Yue were relieved the newcomer wasn\'t on the opposite side.

The men were dumbfounded at first but one of them harshly bellowed. "Mind your own business. This family is in huge debt and needs to return our money. We\'re doing our job."

Although there were five of them facing 4 women and two children, the long knife in the hands of Sister Yan looked menacing. They also didn\'t want to escalate the situation.

"We won\'t be merciful if you continue to offend us." The man\'s words seemed to have some effect as Sister Yan\'s eyes hesitated before becoming firm again.

"You don\'t need to threaten them," Ling Qingyu interrupted. "No matter how much debt they owe you, you\'re already breaking the law. You can contact the authorities if they failed to pay instead of this."

Ling Qingyu only thought the family owed the money and didn\'t understand the truth. From the way these men acted, Ling Qingyu already knew they were loan-shark.

"Breaking the law? Even the law is helpless. Don\'t think because you\'re women, we don\'t dare to do anything. For women, we have various ways to torture." The group marched and even intended to encircle so that no one could leave the entrance.

Chu Ying and Sister Yan flinched after they heard the words while Ling Qingyu\'s eyes turned cold. She stepped forward and covered the hapless women and children.

Xiao Yue had to follow suit to protect her boss. Ling Qingyu knew their threats could be true or false.

True if their background were related to infamous gang members where they could accomplish what they said. False otherwise, but pretending to be aggressive.

No matter what dealing with her saviors\' families, Ling Qingyu had already sent these men to her torture lists.
