Chapter 120 - Exchanging Supplies
Tianyang followed him to the elevator and went down to the first floor of the headquarters. After passing through several identity checks in a long corridor, they finally arrived at the supply warehouse.
Despite being called a warehouse, it was clear that not just anyone could enter. Thus, Tianyang and Cang Du stood in front of a window.
A young female soldier appeared at the window. Her gentle voice came through the intercom. “How can I assist you?”
Cang Du pointed at Tianyang. “This is a newbie. It’s his first time here at the supply warehouse. He wants to exchange for some extra strategic supplies. Could you provide him with a detailed list of available materials?”
The beautiful soldier smiled warmly. “Of course. Please present your identity card.”
Cang Du gestured to the isolation screen at the window. “Place your identity card on this.”
Tianyang complied, placing his identity card on the screen. The screen displayed some information as it read his details. After confirming his identity, the soldier sent a detailed list of supplies to Tianyang’s personal communicator.
The communicator’s signal light blinked, and a document appeared on the screen. Tianyang opened it, revealing a comprehensive list of supplies!
Cang Du said indifferently, “You can browse the directory and search for the categories of supplies you need. You can also use keyword searches to find what you’re looking for.”
“Once you decide what you want to exchange, just tell the administrator. After completing the exchange at the window, the supplies will be delivered to the team quarters within three hours.”
“That’s about it. There’s nothing else to pay attention to. You can choose what you want here. I’m leaving now.”
Tianyang was about to thank him, but remembering Cang Du’s earlier instruction to not say a word, he swallowed his words.
What a difficult person...
After Cang Du left, Tianyang sat in a nearby rest area. He found that the categories of exchangeable supplies were quite comprehensive: weapons, armor, survival gear, medicines, explosives, vehicles, and even powered exoskeletons!
Tianyang’s mouth twitched. Would someone really use a powered exoskeleton on the battlefield? If it were for collection, that might make sense. But using it in battle seemed unnecessary, although powered exoskeletons did have a significant advantage in harvesting low-level enemies.
Tianyang carefully considered his needs. He definitely didn’t need powered exoskeletons or vehicles, and these items cost tens of thousands of contribution points, far beyond what an ordinary person could afford.
For weapons, the Crimson Moon Warblade and the Death Knell were sufficient. There didn’t seem to be a need for energy rifles like the Assault Rifle unless he was planning to compete with soldiers for kills.
But it wouldn’t hurt to take a look...
Tianyang opened the weapons category and was immediately overwhelmed by the extensive list. Weapons were divided into firearms, swords, bows, and shields, with each category having dozens of detailed items.
He browsed casually.
[Sonic Star Energy Gun: Uses a transducer to generate powerful omnidirectional sound waves. The weapon's emitter guides the beam, creating a wide-area beam covered in energy, capable of indiscriminate attacks.
Power Assessment: Level 4.
Exchange Points: 4500.]
[Star Matter Diffusion Hand Cannon: Uses a particle accelerator to rapidly eject star matter energy, causing widespread diffusion damage.
Power Assessment: Level 3.
Exchange Points: 3200.]
[Radiant Sniper Equipment: Employs a 4th-generation cluster emitter to fold star matter energy into high-density beams, with a maximum shooting distance of 1800 meters.
Power Assessment: Level 3.
Exchange Points: 3500.]
[Inferno (Sword): A longsword forged from heat-conductive material, capable of converting infused star essence into high-temperature flames. The flames wrap around the blade, effective against enemies vulnerable to heat and fire.
Power Assessment: Level 2.
Exchange Points: 2700.]
[Invisible Blade (Knife): Features a built-in transducer in the handle to produce an invisible blade formed by high-frequency beams, with properties of invisibility and cutting.
Power Assessment: Level 2.
Exchange Points: 2200.]
The lengthy list made Tianyang’s head spin. He closed his eyes for a moment, considered his needs, and then resumed browsing.
He spent nearly two hours selecting items based on his needs and available contribution points. He finally decided on the following items:
[Shock Grenade: When activated, it releases a powerful high-voltage electric field that causes severe damage to enemies within its range.
Power Assessment: Level 2.
Exchange Points: 300.]
[Gravity Grenade: A dangerous tactical device that creates a ten-square-meter gravity collapse field after a one-second delay. No known material can withstand the folding effect of the collapse field.
Power Assessment: Level 4.
Exchange Points: 3500.]
[Star Essence Supplement Type 2: Restores 20%-30% of total star essence, limited to one bottle per day.
Exchange Points: 600.]
[Star Matter Stimulant: Stimulates the internal star essence to peak activity levels, enhancing all abilities. Limited to one bottle per day.
Exchange Points: 500.]
Tianyang exchanged four shock grenades and one of each of the other items.
After settling the account, he was left with a pitiful 620 contribution points.
Tianyang couldn’t help but exclaim about how little his contribution points lasted.
As Cang Du said, within less than three hours, a set of personal strategic supplies was delivered to Tianyang. Looking at the scattered items in the box, Tianyang was reminded that these items had to be used wisely and not wasted!
Three days later, Tianyang arrived at the transfer platform for assembly. The platform was exceptionally lively today.
Several Night Walker squads were concentrated on various decks. Tianyang roughly estimated that there were over twenty teams on the transfer platform alone!
Among them, Tianyang recognized several familiar faces.
There was the bald lady Lida, who had participated in the Star Pillar Recovery mission; Liang Sen, the captain of the Highland Eagles; and other team members or Captains.
Additionally, Tianyang saw the arrogant Kun Lan and Xie Miao, whom he had fought with at the Night Owl Bar.
Of course, the latter two didn’t look pleased to see him.
“Tianyang.”
A clear and melodious voice came from behind him, like a gentle stream.
Tianyang turned around and saw Xun waving at him, with Doctor Luo Shan beside her.
The teacher and student walked together, both in white long coats with golden-winged insignias, symbols of the battlefield medical team.
It seemed that Doctor Luo Shan was participating in the mission this time and had brought along the brilliant-ranked Xun.
When Doctor Luo Shan appeared, Han Shu’s rugged face broke into a smile. He walked over and, with a familiar motion, reached for the doctor's rear.
Doctor Luo Shan caught his hand with a smile and pinched his arm. “There are so many people here; you don’t need to be so enthusiastic.”
Han Shu exaggeratedly cried out, “Ouch, ouch, let go; quickly let go.”
“Stop pretending! Keep it up, and I’ll pinch harder!” Doctor Luo Shan pinched him a few more times before letting go. She knew Han Shu well; as a high-ranking figure, he was tough and wouldn’t really feel pain.
Han Shu rubbed his arm and grinned, lightly bumping the battlefield medic. “My dear Luo Shan, even though you pinched me so hard, I know what you’re really thinking. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have come all the way here, right?”
Doctor Luo Shan laughed, her face flushed with a bright red hue. “Han, you really are a high-ranking figure; your skin is so thick it’s almost impervious to knives and guns. Could you stop being so narcissistic? I’m just accompanying Xun and coming to speak with Tianyang.”
Han Shu clutched his chest in mock agony. “No, you’re lying to me. My dear, I can’t breathe; you need to help me.”
Doctor Luo Shan glared at him and turned her gaze elsewhere to avoid seeing him.
Xun approached Tianyang and took out a silver box, handing it to him. “Here!”
Tianyang accepted it. “What is this?”
“Two emergency syringes. You might need them in critical moments,” Xun said, looking at him with a charming smile.
Doctor Luo Shan raised her voice from behind. “Kid, make sure to keep them. Xun used her own contribution points to exchange for these!”
Xun’s face turned bright red, and she looked back at Doctor Luo Shan with a helpless expression. “Teacher…”
Doctor Luo Shan, with a smile and her mouth covered, hummed a tune and looked away as if she hadn’t just said that.
Tianyang accepted the box without hesitation. “Thank you. After the mission, I’ll treat you to a meal.”
“Great!” Xun glanced at the clock on the platform. “It’s getting late. I’ll head out with my teacher now.”
Just as Tianyang was about to respond, he suddenly felt a light tap on his shoulder.
“Tianyang! Is it really you? What a coincidence! Are you also participating in this joint operation?”
A clean and pleasant voice rang out, like a gentle breeze on a summer afternoon stirring a wind chime.
Xun’s face was full of surprise because standing next to Tianyang was another young girl who appeared to be about their age.
The girl had an asymmetrical short hairstyle, with a crystal bird-shaped hairpin on the shorter side.
She wore the black uniform of the Night Walkers, which made her petite frame look even more adorable. To Tianyang’s surprise, she had a slender sword hanging at her waist.
The sword was only 4 centimeters wide, and both the scabbard and the hilt were pure white. The hilt featured elegant lines forming a pattern resembling clouds.
As Xun observed the petite girl, the girl also stared back at Xun.
Then they both spoke simultaneously, “Tianyang, who is she?”
In the distance, Han Shu laughed. “My team members are indeed popular; this kid is just like me.”
Doctor Luo Shan rolled her eyes at the remark.
