Chapter 157: Date Night Gone Wrong
But none of this actually mattered to Alex. He simply had become an icon overnight. Hated by those on the left, and beloved on those on the right for the exact same reasons. Which, again, Alex did not care about. Instead, he was focused on his own life. Thus, after driving up to Reno and shooting a few commercials for his new sponsor, Alex began to relax with his home life.
It was beginning to dawn on Alex that Amahle’s time for departure was nearing. Soon enough, she would be going down to Mexico to work for what Alex could only guess were the Cartels. And thus, he wanted to earn some extra points with the woman while he still could.
With this in mind, Alex drove to his mansion, that Amahle was currently staying at, and hugged the girl as if they were long-time friends. The woman, however, wasn’t interested in such flirtations, and instead pushed Alex aside while she spoke about his fight.
“I have to say… I watched your fight, and the way you just played with that wrestler surprised me. I didn’t know that your takedown defense was that good. Yet you stuffed every takedown the man attempted and knocked him out on his feet within the first round. Your unarmed combat skills sure are impressive…”
Alex simply smirked when he heard this and thanked the woman for her compliments. He did not want to boast too much about his own abilities, as he knew that Amahle was not the type to fall for such boisterous behavior.
“Thanks, coming from you, that actually means a lot. So I was thinking, since you will be going down to Mexico for God knows how long, I thought that maybe we should go out and have some fun before then. Think of it as one last hurrah.”
Amahle’s brow raised slightly as she heard this request, before a smirk appeared on her pretty face. Alex swore this was the first time he had actually seen the woman smile since meeting her.
“Oh really? You thought we could have some fun? Like what exactly?”Alex scoffed when he heard this before pointing out to the backyard of his mansion, which had a small dock that contained a wake boat within it.
“Like why don’t we go out to lake Las Vegas and have some fun? When was the last time you went wake boarding? And don’t say never!”
The ebony beauty scoffed when she heard this, before confirming that she had indeed never gone wake boarding before.
“I have never tried it… What don’t look at me like that? I’m from South Africa, and I’m a goddamn assassin. You think I have time for frivolous activities like wake boarding?”
Alex chuckled when he heard this and shook his head before grabbing hold of Amahle’s hand and leading her upstairs to get changed.
“That’s it, we’re going wake boarding. I believe I have a wetsuit that will fit you upstairs. Come on, let’s get dressed!”
Within five minutes, Amahle was dressed in a wetsuit, while Alex was wearing a pair of jammers. The two of them then climbed aboard the boat, and set off to Lake Las Vegas, where Alex would spend the rest of the day teaching Amahle how to properly wakeboard.
—
After the sun had begun to set, Alex and Amahle drove back to shore. They had an absolute blast on the Lake, and Amahle had indeed learned how to wakeboard. Her Affection score with Alex had risen to a solid fifty after the date. And she was actually smiling the entire time.
The African beauty was surprised, however, after showering and getting dressed, that Alex had prepared more for the evening. While dressed in some rather lavish clothing, Alex jiggled the keys to one of the luxury sport cars he had bought with his newly acquired fortune, and stashed away in the mansion’s garage.
“Come on, we’re going out to eat tonight, my treat. I know a great Bavarian style restaurant that you are going to love.”
Amahle simply smiled and shook her head. Alex was really going all out for her tonight. Thus, she decided to entertain the man, as the two of them drove across the city, to Las Vegas’s most premier German style restaurant.
Alex ordered far more food than Amahle thought he was capable of consuming, and he had gone so far as to order a liter of doppelbock beer, which he routinely refilled throughout the evening. At the dinner the two of them got to know one another better, as Alex spoke about his past, and Amahle about hers.
Amahle revealed that she came from a military family, and had signed on with South African National Intelligence at a young age, after graduating from college. Where she served for only a few years before going AWOL. She then roamed the world as a freelance assassin, where her specialty was sniping her targets with precision marksmanship.
As for Alex, he told the same stories he had told all his women, other than perhaps Jade, about his childhood and how he had grown up to become the man he was today. By the end of the date, Alex was only slightly intoxicated, despite the overwhelming amount of beer he drank. This was proof that his alcohol tolerance was much higher than a normal man’s.
As for Amahle, she was actually quite drunk, as the two of them stumbled to their car in the parking lot of the restaurant, which was deep within the city of Las Vegas. However, while Alex was about to open the door to his car, so that Amahle could get into the passenger seat. He saw something out of the peripheral of his vision.
It was the reflection of a coated lens. One that he assumed belonged to a rifle scope. Thus, he immediately tackled the woman next to him, as a bullet barely missed its mark, followed by the loud echo of a gunshot.
Realizing that they were under attack. Alex withdrew his concealed carry gun and took cover behind his car with Amahle. She couldn’t help but curse beneath her breath as she rapidly sobered up due to the adrenaline and endorphins that now flooded through her bloodstream.
“God dammit! I thought La Madre took care of this! They aren’t supposed to be gunning after you anymore!”
Alex, however, scoffed and shook his head. As used, he peered over the side of his car ever so slightly, only to pull his head back just in time for a bullet to miss him.
“I don’t think they’re here for me… That shot was meant for you… Who the fuck is trying to kill you, Amahle?”
The woman sighed heavily and shook her head as she pulled out her piece from within her purse. She honestly didn’t know, as she had made a lot of enemies over the years.
“Your guess is as good as mine. Though if this is related to my current contract, we’re probably dealing with Sicarios from CJNG… Which means this gunman is not alone…”
And just as expected, two men armed with light machine guns popped exited from a van that was in the parking lot, and began firing at Alex’s car. Knowing that they were in a seriously bad spot, Alex took a deep breath to calm his nerves, where he took aim from behind cover, and fired three shots straight towards the first of the two men with the light machine guns.
In less than two seconds, Alex had fired three shots. Two to the chest, and one to the head. And though the Sicario was wearing body armor which protected him from the 9mm +P hollow point projectiles. The shot to the head did him in.
Alex then ducked behind the car again, narrowly avoiding the sniper fire, before taking advantage of the time between the man’s reloads, to fire another three shots at the other light machine gunner. All three of which were aimed at the head. With two of his shots hitting his target, killing the man on the spot.
Once More Alex ducked behind cover for a sniper shot to miss him. By now he had timed the reload speed of his opponent, and how quickly he could rack the bolt. It was fast, but not fast enough, and thus, Alex immediately sprinted to another nearby car.
Alex then screamed at Amahle to cover him, who began to fire three shots towards the window where the sniper was hiding, while Alex used the time, Amahle had given him to storm through the parking lot until he had reached the building where the sniper was located.
Alex kicked down the door and stormed through the building as he made his way to the room where the sniper was. Who by now had lost track of Alex’s location. Knowing that the would be assassin was no doubt waiting for him in the room, most likely behind the door. Alex played a dirty trick, as he lock picked the door to the room next to where his opponent was hiding. Before pointing his gun towards the wall and firing five shots through it.
The sound of a body collapsing against the door gave Alex enough confidence to kick down the door to the room, where he found that he had guessed correctly, and riddled the would be assassin full of bullet holes.
Knowing that his car was fucked, and police were on the way, Alex had to think of a way to get out of this situation, and fast. But first he had to check on Amahle, thus he walked down to the parking lot, where he spotted the ebony beauty still hiding behind cover.
Once she realized that Alex was still alive, and unharmed no less, she broke out into a smile and nodded her head in approval of the man’s skills.
[Amahle is impressed with your combat skills!]
[Amahle is thankful that you saved her life!]
[+10 Affection from Amahle!]
[+10 Affection from Amahle!]
[Amahle’s Affection: 70/100]
Alex smirked when he saw this and returned Amahle’s nod with one of his own. Now the only thing these two needed was a way to get out of this mess. And thus, Alex reluctantly pulled out his phone and called his mother so that she could clean up the aftermath of his most recent mess.
