Chapter 203: Professions??
However, they swiftly figured out the cause of such an unusual occurrence when they made their way behind the main association building.
FWHIP!
A flimsy plastic sound echoed out, as it felt like they passed through a barrier that separated two different spaces.
"Hmm? What was that?" asked Azmond with a slightly puzzled expression.
"That was just the barrier that separates the main building from all the facilities that lay back here!"
The receptionist responded to his question as she pointed out all the large and weirdly shaped buildings that lay scattered across the 'back area' of the Adventurer's Association.
However, none of the buildings were blue like the rest of the buildings in RiverBloom. Most of them appeared to be made from a type of dark wood that could only be found in the Great Wildlands Forest.
"What is the purpose of all these facilities?"
His deep, raspy voice sounded out once more as he even saw a building that looked like a funny funnel. Furthermore, there was even a building in the shape of an oversized boot!
"These are facilities that some of our more 'unique' Adventurer's use when they aren't out on missions," she began with an informative tone.
It seemed like she had already soothed her nerves over the ridiculousness that Azmond presented to her earlier.
Her voice continued sounding out as she said, "The majority of these buildings are the homes or research facilities of these 'unique' Adventurer's. Some of them are even the blacksmith and artesian areas of some of the adventurers that have professions pertaining to those aspects."
"Professions?"
He had heard of professions before, but that was only in the books he read in his past life. He didn't originally think that there could be similar professions in this world. Although at this point, there truly was nothing that this world didn't have...
"Yes, you can make your way over to the Holy Cathedral in the Royal Capital of AquaRing, and once you make it there, you can request for a divination to be conducted. However, the profession you get is not chosen by the individual; it is instead chosen by 'fate'.
What the divination does is simply activate the latent abilities that lie within your body."
"I see"
'A profession, huh? I might make my way over to that Holy Cathedral when I decide to make the journey to the Royal Capital. I would like to know exactly what profession was 'meant for me'.'
...
"We are here!" The receptionist announced after they finally made their way over to the biggest building.
"Head on in and set down a portion of your materials on the ground. We can begin inspecting all of them, one section at a time."
"Alright," he replied with an indifferent tone before making his way into an average-sized metal door.
Creak!
An old crickety sound screeched out as he opened up the rusted metal door.
'It looks like this place hasn't been used in a while'
"How long do you think it has been since somebody came in here, Azmond?" Crystalline asked with a slightly shaky tone as she linked arms with him.
Whisp!
The wind came rushing into the seemingly abandoned building, making a creepy sound on its way in.
"Mhmm" She began to shiver a little before digging her face into his robes.
|Eek! Az-Azmond, this place is scary!|
Boundless yelped before she leaped onto the left side of his body.
It seemed she was not as reserved and composed as Crystalline when it came to things like this.
He expected such a reaction from her, but what he didn't predict was that Crystalline would also react a little negatively to a spooky environment like this.
'Is she not good with dark places?'
A small, sly smirk emerged on his face when he thought about such a scenario being the case. He was thinking about having a little fun with them before they got the monster materials checked out.
Click!
However, the lights suddenly came on out of nowhere. The once dark and creepy building, the size of a billionaire's mansion, became as bright as a new condo!
"..." Azmond was a little disappointed at such an 'unfortunate' thing happening.
'Couldn't that receptionist have waited a little longer to turn on the lights?'
|Finally, we have light!!| Boundless effused as she rubbed her voluptuous body up and down on Azmond, 'tears' building up in her big round brown eyes.
"Mmm" Crystalline let out a breath of relief at such a fortunate thing happening as her tight grip on his arm loosened up.
However, such a moment of relief and disappointment was quickly interrupted by the feminine voice of a certain receptionist.
"Alrighty then, if you all would please make your way over here, you can begin to let out everything you wish to verify for your quests."
She pointed to the middle area of the huge building, clearly indicating that he should start unloading.
And he wasn't one to deny the opportunity to unload!
Bang! Bang! Plop!
Thousands upon thousands of monster corpses fell to the ground in grandiose fashion as the majority of the free space in the monster material facility became filled up in the blink of an eye!
"?!?" The receptionist could hardly believe her eyes!
She thought he was just kidding about what he said before, but that was apparently not the case!
She had seen B-Rank Adventurer's before; she had even witnessed a few A-Rank Adventurer's in her lifetime! However, none of the things they did even came close to the absurd actions being performed by this greenhorn Adventurer!
