Chapter 218: Azmond's 'Core'
WAAA!!
Azmond's aura exploded outward as his realm advanced to the Middle Stages of the Early Quantum Core Formation Realm!
And along with this breakthrough, his newly formed dull gray core with a starry outline grew a few inches from its original 2 inches!
This 'core' was something that formed in his Dantian space upon breaking through to the Early Quantum Core Formation Realm.
He overlooked the changes that happened from his breakthrough into the Early Quantum Core Formation Realm when he first broke through; however, now that he had the 'time' to look it over, he immediately noticed that his Dantian and all the Qi Cyclone's that orbited around his Dantian had disappeared into thin air!
Azmond had, of course, freaked out a little upon realizing that; however, there was something that took its place.
A small, dull gray marble with a starry outline and hue to it appeared in the very center of his Dantian space. Seemingly acting like his Dantian and his Qi Cyclones, except the fact that it was better!
It didn't make a single semblance of sense that such a miniscule marble had more functionality than his hundred thousand-meter-wide Dantian and Qi Cyclones. However, the facts were right in front of his face.
This new 'marble' which was his 'Core', held thousands of times more energy reserves than what all of his Qi Cyclones and Dantian held together!
Now the question was, why would his Dantian and Qi Cyclones disappear and be 'replaced' by this little starry-gray 'marble'? Well, the truth was
Azmond had no clue!
He had never heard about the core that other cultivators attained upon breaking through to Core Formation replacing their Dantian's and Qi Cyclones! Hell, he had never even heard of them being energy containers or energy multipliers like his was!
A normal 'core' that one would have to go through great expenditures to form would usually only be used to refine a cultivator's cultivation base until they reached a point where they could begin breaking through to the next realm.
And in some cases, those with more 'unique' professions would take up the art of alchemy and alter their cores to suit whatever it was they specialized in.
Nonetheless, in the end, the mystery surrounding Azmond's new Core would have to be solved in due time
...
"Gaining strength at such rapid intervals is quite intoxicating, isn't it, Emu?"
Azmond's pleased voice resounded in the black and gold slime's 'ears', as it responded with a chirpy, "Mhmu!"
It had been getting so much stronger after consuming so many monsters as well!
After all, it assimilated every part of the existence's it absorbed. That, of course, included their stats and skills, along with everything else they had to offer. Now, when it came to stats, it was a lot more complicated and complex than a simple 1+1=2.
The difference between someone with 1,000,000 points in strength and someone with 1,000,000,000 points in strength would be far larger than a simple 1000 difference.
And that wasn't the only unique oddity with stat points, as each point past a certain 'level' was worth more than a point from a 'level' that came before.
Say you gained 100 stat points after crossing the 100,000-point threshold in speed. And say someone else one major realm above you gained 100 stat points after they crossed the 1,000,000 point threshold.
The points gained by the person past the 1,000,000 point threshold would be of far higher 'quality' than the points gained by the person in the 'past the 100,000 point' threshold.
So with all this in mind, the 'stats' that Emu absorbed were all of varying 'qualities' and weren't all worth the same amount, even if they were the same number.
If Emu was capable of absorbing and assimilating stat points, all of the same quality, then he would already have stats in the quadrillions of units! Emu might as well be an immortal at that point!
However, that wasn't to say that his gains were small, even if every stat point he assimilated wasn't of the same quality.
'Discerning Quantum Eye'
Azmond decided to observe just that as Emu's overpowered System Interface flashed in front of him.
BLING!

"Emu is the MC" A mumble escaped Azmond's mouth as he looked toward the seemingly harmless slime.
A slime who contained a strength that was close to rivaling something in the later stages of the Half-Step Unity Form Synthesis Realm.
"Mhmu!" Emu squeaked.
It appeared to be thinking that its companion wanted to go out and hunt more monsters!
"... Of course the MC would wind up being dense"
Azmond couldn't help but sigh at that notion before his attention was brought back to the millions of monsters still causing havoc throughout the City of RiverBloom.
