Chapter 220: Half-Step Unity Form Synthesis Realm Master's Fighting!

An aura seemed to increase in intensity, as it looked like the owner of the aura was becoming enraged!

BOOOOOOM!

Following a loud explosion, Azmond was ultimately able to catch a glimpse of something in the richest district of RiverBloom.

"Is that a basilisk? But who is that other guy?"

What he saw were two figures dashing through the skies as they battled it out in an intense struggle.

The first figure was a giant gray basilisk thousands of meters in length, while the second figure was a man with a wisened countenance and an ancient aura permeating outward from him.

"Is that the BranchMaster?" He asked with a curious tone.

However, he quickly scratched that theory when he got a better view of the beard of the old dude flying in the sky.

"Nah The BranchMaster's beard is more gray than white. But if this guy is not the BranchMaster, then who is he?"

Azmond only became more confused over such a revelation. There weren't many figures within the area of RiverBloom that could contend with a basilisk in the Half-Step Unity Form Synthesis Realm. So, who was this new old dude, if not the BranchMaster?

"Is he..?"

That was when he realized who this mysterious figure was likely to be.

"It's that City Lord I've been hearing about, isn't it?" He stated with a confident voice.

It looked like he had figured out what that other old dude's identity was. And the basilisk was obviously the one that invaded the city a few hours agothe one that disguised itself as a human.

However, he had heard that the basilisk that invaded the city was only in the Late-Void Refining Realm. So why would it suddenly become a Half-Step Unity Form Synthesis Realm Monster?

"Maybe it just broke through the realms like I did?"

"..."

|Nobody breaks through realms as easily as you do, Azmond!|

Someone had to say it as the busty woman clinging to his back popped her head over his shoulder and rubbed her cheeks against his!

"Hmm?" Azmond began with a confused look on his face.

"Then how do you explain it's sudden breakthrough into the Half-Step Unity Form Synthesis Realm?" He asked the touchy beauty.

There was, of course, the event where the basilisk had simply been hiding its cultivation realm, or the possibility that BranchMaster and the City couldn't properly discern its cultivation base. However, such a situation was unlikely, in his opinion.

Nonetheless, the cheerful beauty's next words would make him realize the truth of the matter.

|That is obviously because there were traitors among the humans!| Boundless responded with a silly smile, her hands traveling through his long, silky black hair.

"A traitor??"

Azmond never would've even entertained the idea that there could be a traitor among those of the humans of the City of RiverBloom. Who would go through so much trouble to team up with monsters and betray their own kind?

It wasn't like he could not understand the potential benefits that one could gain from such a scenario paning out; however, what was the likelihood that a monster would follow through with an 'agreement' made with a human?

The chance of that happening was zero!

Monsters were conniving and malevolent by nature. Of course, there were some exceptions to that 'rule'; however, for the majority of monsters, that was just in their blood. Deceit and destruction were what they were bred for!

So why was there a human willing to take that risk and betray the human race for potential benefits? And who would be at a high enough rank to go through with such an 'agreement' made with the monsters...?

"A traitor" Azmond began to mull over the matter with a contemplative expression.

|Yep, a traitor! It was that stinky man up there!|

*Jiggle Jiggle!*

Boundless 'bounced' on top of his body before pointing up toward a distant figure fighting with the Half-Step Unity Form Synthesis Realm Basilisk!

"The City Lord??" He became even more confused with every word spoken by Boundless.

'Why would the ruler of a large human city like RiverBloom betray the human race, only to team up with the monster race? How many benefits could one possibly gain from such a rash decision??'

He couldn't wrap his head around it! Why would a strong man like the City Lord of RiverBloom betray the human race??? And if he really did betray the humans, why would he be fighting a monster right now??

He brooded over the subject for a few nanoseconds before coming to a conclusion.

'An internal dispute or something?'

That should be the only logical answer. But why would the two parties that should've been working together suddenly pull apart and fight amongst each other? And where is the BranchMaster?

'Why are there so many unanswered questions??'

Every query Azmond thought he figured out the answer to only brought up five more questions.

"You know what?" he began with a slight smirk on his face.

"Thinking was never my forte to begin with."

WAAA!

BOOOM!

Following his words was the subsequent release of his crimson aura, as he sprang up like a broken coil, aiming directly at the ongoing fight between the CityLord and the Basilisk!

"Let me just ask the parties involved, myself."

His nonchalant voice reverberated throughout the skies above RiverBloom as he crossed dozens of miles without anybody knowing the better!

*****

"You damn scoundrel!" An ancient voice leaked out from an old man with long white hair.

"Ha? Me, the scoundrel?? Yeah, you are probably right about that!!" A different antiquated voice responded back.

SLASH!

A spear came flying out of the blue, aimed directly at the owner of the second voice!

"Futile! The poison is already taking effect on that aged body of yours! You have already been alive for thousands of years now! Don't you think you should just call it quits and meet your death already?!?" A scornfully mocking tone slithered out from the owner of the second voice.

BAM!

The owner of the second voice threw out a tail attack as he effortlessly thwarted the spear aimed at his throat!

.....
