Chapter 237: Kingdom And Sect Ranks
Of course, even after learning of all this information, Azmond was still not willing to let Crystalline go off on her ownentering a sect filled with who knows what dangers. Nonetheless
She was her own person, and he had to let her grow on her own. He wanted her to be safe above all else, but he also wouldn't allow himself to put her in a box like some caged bird. He had to let her grow her wings and fly!
And it wasn't like Crystalline was doing all this on a whim or purely because the elder of her sect commanded her to. She truly wished to become the sole Heiress of her sect.
After all, the 'heiress' and subsequent 'Sect Leader' titles were not just for show. The ones in possession of such titles were given the privilege of taking whatever they wanted from the sect's storage!
And that wasn't all, as they were also qualified to obtain majority control over most of the forces of the 'Hidden Lotus Syndicate'.
Neither Azmond nor Crystalline cared much about the second part of the benefits; however, both of them were very interested in the 'sect storage' matter. After all, just imagine all the gold coins and spiritual stones that could be stored inside that 'treasure vault!
It was presumed to be at such an unbelievable level that it could be just what Azmond and Crystalline needed to catapult themselves up by a few major realms!
Now, such a large amount of treasure being stored away was mainly due to two things. The first being that this 'Hidden Lotus Syndicate' was no normal sect and ranked in as a Tier 9 Secret Sect of the World of Asterion.
What did this imply, you might ask?
Well, the world of Asterion had a sect ranking system, just like they also had a kingdom ranking system.
And both of those ranking systems happened to be very similar to each other, although don't misinterpret 'similarity' with 'equality'for a kingdom and a sect of the same tier could very well be miles apart in terms of how strong they were.
The Kingdom and Sect ranking system went like this, from descending to ascending order
Kingdom: (Tier 1-9)
Sect: (Tier 1-9)
The sects, more often than not, were of a far higher quality than a kingdom of the same tier. For example, the 'Hidden Lotus Syndicate' was a Tier 9 Sectplacer at the very summit of the world of Asterion.
However, a Tier 9 Kingdom such as the Divinity kingdoms that lay to the north would never be able to match up to the 'Hidden Lotus Syndicate'.
A Tier 9 Sect was more on the level of a top-tier empire in the world of Asterion. An empire like the Divine Sea Dynasty would be a good example of an Empire on a similar level as the Hidden Lotus Syndicate.
And just for reference, the Divine Sea Dynasty possessed cultivators at the peak of the Mahayana Realm. And it was even rumored that they had ancestors who had already surpassed the limits of the mortal realm but decided to stay down here anyway.
Now, for what reason these powerful and archaic ancestors decided to stay on Asterion instead of venturing out past the Starry Seaboard was something unknown to those outside their 'circle'.
However, that was a topic for another time. Let us get back to the heated conversation between Azmond, Crystalline, Boundless, and Emu...
"We already discussed my leaving, Azmond. What I want to talk about right now is this ditsy bimbo that's playing the innocent persona as much as she wants."
Crystalline's words came out in a frosty tone as she directed her icy gaze to the 'confused' Boundless.
|'What is this cow talking about? What innocent persona!? I tried my best with making a good first impression, you know!'| Boundless grumbled inside her mind before she harrumphed and turned her head away from Crystalline.
|'That cow isn't worth my 'good will' anyway!'| She began with a haughty tone; however, that haughtiness didn't last long as she suddenly remembered something.
|'Wait! If I don't get along with this cow, then how am I supposed to rock the bed with Azmond!? Err I mean, 'assist' him in his needs!?'| Boundless 'flawlessly' corrected her wording as she started to fret over that 'event' not coming to pass.
There was no other choice! She had to meld the relationship between her and Crystalline! At least enough that she would be able to 'assist' Azmond, even with her knowing!
Boundless's expression became resolved as she knew what she needed to do to become 'closer' with Azmond. She had no choice now.
She had to be nicer to this dumb cow!
...
|Uhmm I'm sorry for being rude and calling you a dumb, fat, stupid cow! I've not talked to another woman in forever, that's all!| Boundless apologized while fiddling with her hands.
It was obvious that she was completely unused to this whole 'apologizing' business.
"... You didn't call me half of those things, you know?" Crystalline responded with twitching eyelids.
Was this girl looking for a fight or something??
|Oh! Did I not!? Oopsies, well anyway!|
"Don't 'well anyway' me. What sort of apology is this??"
|It's an awesome apology! I thought it up myself! So, do you forgive me!? Please forgive me!|
"That is not how you ask for forgiveness."
|Is it not!?| Boundless questioned with an astonished expression.
|Are you sure about that!? I read somewhere that the best way to apologize was to convey what you were feeling to the one you were trying to apologize to! That's what I'm doing right now! That means I'm awesome, does it not!?|
"..." Crystalline was left exasperated at this girl's personality.
Was this what Azmond had to work with every day?
She wanted to be mad at him; however, for some odd reason, she couldn't help but feel a little bad for him
'Finally someone understands...' Azmond would be crying tears of joy right now, if not for the sparks flying through the air.
