Chapter 244: Does He Think I'm Impotent??

"..." 'Does this old dude think I'm impotent or something? Why does he keep talking about my 'youth' and my 'blood heating up one of these days'?'

Azmond was beginning to feel like the Old City Lord could use a good smack on the head!

However, he had to calm himself.

The old dude had just become so old over the years that he had acquired dementia and Alzheimer's, not to mention how senile he was!

'I truly pity the old dude... It must be tough on his brittle bones to go through so much involving his wife only to wind up losing all of his cognitive abilities... Hopefully bringing that 'Miracle Drug' or whatever back to him will help reverse most of the stupidity that ails him.'

Both Azmond and the Old City Lord looked at each other with empathetic gazes, as they both thought the other to be an extremely unfortunate soul.

"Don't worry, old dude, I will be back in no time flat. But for now, I think you should really take care of those citizens down there," Azmond said with a finger pointed to the millions of citizens gathered below.

Their audience had already accumulated to such a high number without either of them knowing the better. And every single one of them was looking up at the two of them with varying expressions.

"Who is the City Lord talking to?"

"I heard it was a strong adventurer or something like that! But I also heard that the adventurer in question is only C-Rank."

"Such a thing makes one wonder how someone a few major realms weaker managed to make acquaintances with someone of such a high status?"

"Well, who knows these days? The City Lord has even made 'deals' with the Monsters, so it wouldn't surprise me that he'd lower himself to make friends with a mere C-Rank," scoffed a large man.

"You would do the same if you were in his shoes, you fart box!" A different well-built man snapped.

"Who are you calling, fart box, you ass for breath!?" The first large man spat back before butting heads with the well-built man.

....

As a few of the denizens of RiverBloom were getting into a heated argument, Azmond and the City Lord were still talking atop the stadium without a care in the world.

"Yah, I guess you're right..." A heavy sigh escaped the City Lord when he recalled the hundreds of thousands of lives that were lost because of him.

Asterion may be a world where the strong always have the final say, and technically, he could get away with all these indirect murders without even a slap on the wrist. However, he would never do that, for this was not only his city but also his Arian's city!

"Oh, and you can stop calling me 'old dude', youngster. My name is Eldric Ironhand; you can just call me Eldric," The City Lord added with a neutral tone.

"Alright, Eldric. Then you can stop calling me 'youngster', for my name is Azmond. And in case you were wondering, I don't have a last name yet," Azmond responded with a voice just as nonchalant.

"Azmond, is it? That is a very unique name, one that shall be quite easy for my wizened mind to remember," Eldric acknowledged Azmond's name while stroking his beard.

They both played their own 'unique' roles to a T. One an 'ancient sword immortal', and the other a 'Wizened Old Master'. And they were both playing the part absolutely!-

-Terribly

.....

"This is where we part ways then, young Azmond. Be safe on your journey, and do come back to visit these old bones one of these days," the City Lord began with a warm expression.

He would never admit it, but this youngster was growing on him a little. His personality being almost as shameless as his made him quite the compatriot, but now was not the time to become all buddy buddy. After all, they both had things they needed to do.

"Yes, this is where we go in our own directions, Eldric, and try not to die underneath the hands of your own citizens while I'm gone, haha!" Azmond spoke with a light, hearty laugh.

His chuckle faded out as he turned away from the City Lord, soon disappearing from view.

It was a feat that not a single person within the crowd seemed to be able to track. However, there was one particular figure within the millions of people down below that was able to catch a glimpse of his movementsmovements that not even the City Lord himself would find a trace of.

This figure was fully cloaked, with his face unable to be discerned from the front. However, even though indiscernible, there appeared to be a change in that emotionless figure's countenance.

'An anomaly in the City of RiverBloom. I must report this back to my Queen Her daughter has been looking for any traces of a man who seems to match this man's mannerisms. And if this man truly is the same person Princess Aqua is always yammering about, then this is big newsbig news indeed.'

The cloaked figure's thoughts seemed to become static toward the end; at least until a person suddenly walked by

and then he was no longer there

....

|Hey, Azmond!?|

A bubbly voice sounded out as two milky white melons plopped over the top of Azmond's head.

They had been traveling for around a day now, killing many monsters on their way to the 'heart of the Great Wildlands Forest'.

The amount of experience Azmond acquired had been quite lucrative as well.

However, that was just a bonus; his one and only objective for the moment was to find the perfect 'Monster King' to take a disguise as.

"Yes?" Azmond responded to Boundless, followed by a heavy sigh escaping his lips.

|Are We Almost There Ye-|
