Chapter 341: Calista and Clawdia…
The dangerous energies being emitted from the wide chasms caused by Zargoroth were slowly dispersed before they eventually reached a point where one could cross over.
And that was all that Calista needed as she crossed over and headed in the direction of the black dome.
'Big Sister' She thought with a doleful aura surrounding her.
It had been over two years since Calista had seen her sister Over two years since she had been 'abandoned'.
Did she blame her sister and father for leaving her behind?
Yes, she did.
But that was only for the first year.
Such thoughts of hate and blame faded away the moment she met a certain, overly handsome man.
A man who invaded her life and took her feelings and emotions through an intense roller coaster as they traveled all around the Luminous Grounds.
It was Azmond who enabled her to understand that her father and sister had not abandoned her. He had always mentioned something about him knowing the 'truth', and that truth being far more complicated than she would understand.
Calista doubted his words in the beginning; however, after she had spent an entire year with him, every word he spoke was practically the absolute truth for her.
She could think for herself, and she could believe what she wanted to believe, but in the end, if Azmond said it, then it was without a doubt the way it was.
Calista had come to believe that her big sister had not 'abandoned' her. She had simply 'got caught up in something', as Azmond called it.
On a side note, she was almost positive that his goal of 'Reaching the Twenty First Floor' had more to do with her than it did with him satisfying his curiosity.
She understood that he was secretly making the trip for her. And it was that kindness of his that she loved about him
Nevertheless, the flustered Calista was making her way over to her big sister with tears streaming down her gorgeous face.
-
*Drip Drip*
Crystalline tears fell to the red-colored surface as a catkin girlaround 5'1 with long white hair and glistening gray eyeshurried in a direction that was in the direct path of a black sphere.
Calista's expression was melancholic as her breathing was heavy, and her eyes flickered erratically as she was falling over herself, attempting to get her saddened self in the direction of a large black dome.
"P-Please be okay, Big-Sis" She mumbled.
Following such a flurry of disorganized movements, she was eventually able to make it to the black dome.
"..." Her moist eyes darted in every direction of the interior, trying to find a certain silhouette.
And it didn't take long before she saw the collapsed figure of a beautiful catkin woman being attended to by a foxkin woman.
If it were any other time, then Calista would've become peeved over the two large milkers on Ember, but this was no time to be worrying about nonsense.
*Pitter Patter*
Her rushed steps echoed out as she garnered the stares of all the Monster Queen's, the gazellekin, and Spiritflame.
Usually they would talk to her, but when they saw that look on her face, they knew it was not the time.
"..." "..." "..."
They simply watched as she ran up to the catkin woman who had once struck fear in all the High-Rank Monster Kings and Monsterkind commoners alike.
None of them knew why Azmond had brought back a calamity like Clawdia, but they were intelligent enough to know that if she had been put under his care, then he was strong enough to keep her under check.
However, none of them recalled him being strong enough to assist a Mahayana Realm Cultivator a few months ago...
So did that mean he had gotten stronger in such a short period of time!?
Everyone went silent upon realizing that fact.
Every single thing they learned about him left them even more shocked over the existence of the man who called himself 'Azmond'.
The gazellekin and Spiritflame were a little bit annoyed over Azmond getting stronger; however, the Monster Queen's, on the other hand, started to leak out of their lower areas again.
"..." "..."
Spiritflame and the gazellekin, on the other hand, were speechless over the lust-filled intent practically oozing out of the once-imposing Monster Queen's.
They hated Azmond for hogging all the attention!
But more than that, they were jealous of him.
Nonetheless, regardless of the thoughts of all the Monster Queen's and the two depressed Monster Kings, Calista had already fallen to the ground as she leaned over a low hanging bed.
"B-Big Sister" She cried while hugging an unconscious Catkin woman.
Her soft sobs filled the large interior of the black dome as the crystalline tears never stopped falling onto Clawdia's figure.
Calista was not one to show her emotions very often, as she was usually a soft-spoken one; however, when she discovered that her sister was right in front of her, the flood gates opened up.
It had been over a year since she let it all out, like she was in that room. And it didn't seem like Calista was going to be stopping anytime soon.
A few seconds passed by, as the other people inside the black dome watched on with sympathetic gazes.
Even Spirtflame and the gazellekin started to feel bad for the little girl, who was of monsterkind. After all, of all the High-Rank Monster Kings, those two could be considered the most harmless of the bunch.
Whereas the ones that Azmond had mercilessly killed were part of the 99.99% percentile when it came to the lack of kindness of the High-Rank Monster Kings.
One might think that Spiritflame was also part of that '99.99%'; however, he had to put on such an act in front of the other Monster King's, for he had to keep his image up if he wished to survive.
Spiritflame, along with the gazellekin, whose name was 'Ayalah', weren't born with supreme talent and optimal conditions like the rest of the High-Rank Monster King descendants.
They had to work hard to reach the point that they had achieved. The amount of pain they had experienced over the years had already reached a level beyond what went above the norm.
