Chapter 184: Palkus’ Journey! 2
"Kyaa!" The girls' who were within the room held themselves back from screaming when they saw him, while some just didn't care.
He was wearing white and gold armor, displaying his riches; his hair was blond, and his eyes were blue, and one could guess he was an elf just from his ears and feminine facial structure.
"I heard a new S-rank newbie joined the guild and came to take a look; who would have thought you would make the instructor react like that? Hello, I'm Allan. I'm the party leader of 'Thunder Strike', and I would like to invite you to join our party." Coming close to Pal, who was still sweating from the fight, he stretched his hand, a smile on his face.
"Oh, hello, I'm Palkus." Palkus greeted him politely and seized him up and down.
"So, what do you think?" Seeing as the goman had no intention of answering, the elf asked once again.
"Ah, I'm sorry, I have no plans on joining a party right now. I have a lot of things to do, you see?" Pal opened his eyes for a second before he replied. He truly had no plans on joining a party; he was going to spend most of his time on alchemy and smithing.
"You don't have to worry; we won't force you to be there all the time. If you can at least join our mission from time to time, that'll be more than enough." The young elf insisted.
"Well..." Palkus gazed slightly to the right, retracting his hand while thinking of some solution.
"How about this." Suddenly, he said, catching the elf off guard.
"Yes?"
"I can't join your party, but I can join your missions from time to time. I don't want to feel chained by a group or anything like that." Palkus suggested.
"Hmm, I can do that. We'll be going on a mission in 3 days, what do you say you join us then?" The elf agreed and then he asked.
"Sure. If I'm free, then sure." Palkus nodded.
"Alright, in 3 days, by dawn, we can meet in the hall; you'll find us at the pub." Allan informed Pal as he turned to leave.
The trainer came closer to Pal and tapped his shoulder.
"I see you are already friends with the most promising party of this generation." The trainer smiled and said.
"Is that so?" Was all Palkus said as he gazed at Allan, who had just left.
"Yeah. By the way, young man." Palkus turned to look at the trainer, who seemed serious.
"Yes, instructor?" He asked.
"What was the last technique you've used?" The instructor posed his question. He could still feel that impending doom feeling Pal gave him when he used it.
"Oh, it's a technique my master taught me 5 years ago, it's nothing special." Palkus replied, shrugging his shoulders.
"You call that nothing special?" The trainer opened his eyes, confusion in his face.
"Well, I was taught much stronger techniques after it, and from what master said, it's the weakest. Though if the master says something is weak, then it's probably more than enough to destroy any mortal being. Haha." Palkus shrugged his shoulders as he imagined the trainer's reaction if he knew who his master was.
"Who's your master?" There it was—the awaited question.
The trainer was seriously wondering just who taught this fella who could even make him, an EX-rank feel the danger of death from an S-rank. Let's not forget that an EX-rank cannot be hurt by anything without laws.
"Well, I'm not allowed to say, but you will know sooner or later." Was the reply Palkus gave. For once, the instructor could feel darkness enshrouding the figure of the young man, a feeling of mystery his first impression of him didn't warn about.
"I see. Well, you can go to your next test; it's held on the building right of this one. After you're done with all your tests, you can come back to take your guild card." The instructor just shook his head; he knew better than to ask questions he had no right to know.
"Alright, thank you very much." Pal, hearing this, did not waste any time as he ran for the next test.
After the adventurer test, there was the alchemy test. When Palkus entered the building he was sent to, he was welcomed by the scent of potions and herbs, something he was more than familiar with.
The building was as large as the guild; to the left was the counter; to the right was the store selling potions; and in front of him was a gate leading to a waiting room. That's where he was supposed to go.
Palkus, however, went directly to the counter; he had to first notify the alchemists of his arrival.
"Hello, I'm here to take my alchemy test."
And once again, Pal found himself within a room This time, he surveilled by 3 elven alchemists.
"Listen, young man. you will be given a set of F-rank recipes you can choose from and you will have 3 chances to make at least one of them. All the ingredients will be handed to you, and as long as the purity of the potion surpasses 50%, you can be certified as an F-Rank alchemist." The alchemist was in the middle, wearing a white robe with a badge with an EX-rank sign engraved on it.
Above the sign were 3 stars.
Next to the old alchemist was a young female alchemist; from her badge, Pal assumed that she was an S-rank one, although she had 4 stars rather than 3. The last one was a middle-aged alchemist; he was an SSS-Rank with 2 stars. Both of them were also wearing white robes.
