Chapter 188: Palkus’ Journey! Pause
"Hey, what was going on inside?" Random 1 asked.
"Nah, man, I ain't telling." Rando 2, who was just talking about how this was the best experience he had in his life, replied.
"Fuck you, just speak, you stingy fuck." Rando 1, cursed.
"$500, and I'll tell you." Rando 2 smiled and offered.
"Yeah, put that up your arse." Rando 1 cursed and left.
"Asshole." Rando 2 cursed back while laughing to himself, no way he's telling for free.

After finishing his alchemy test, Palkus was informed that his robe and badge would be found in the guild once he finished his blacksmith test.
Before he left, he was told that becoming the alchemy king was hard.
He had to participate in a head-to-head contest with the current king to see who's the better alchemist, and truthfully speaking, Palkus would have to show his full might if he wanted to beat the alchemy king of the dwarfelven continent.
The alchemy king wasn't actually the best alchemist of Portalia, that was the alchemy emperor. The first title was reserved for the best mortal alchemist, while the latter was for the actual best.
The alchemy king was not present at the moment, so the actual contest would only be held after he returned.
Aside from that, he was also asked many questions about how he was able to use laws without being an EX-rank and if he could use them in fight.
Palkus couldn't say the truth as it was something related to Draco, his master, and if he so much as gave hints that could trace back to him, he would be in big trouble...
Well, not really, but Draco told him to shut his mouth until he became the Monarch; otherwise, he has no right to call him his master.
The thing about being able to use laws was just some genetic modifications Draco had messed around with in Palkus' body, making him an abomination capable of using laws before he was even an A-rank.
Using laws for people below EX-rank is impossible because it's destructive for them. The only reason Palkus could actually use it, even if he was nothing but an S-rank, is because of his special traits as a gomen.
He was the perfect organism, part of a race that got better and better, so of course, just a few little twicks and twists that Draco, as a researcher, could easily mess around with, and he was good to go.
And that's what happened. Fixing some small genetic weaknesses that wouldn't have been able to hand the tiny law strings that didn't even amount to 0.0001% of concentration and understanding, Draco managed to create the first ever being to use laws while not being an EX-rank.
For some reason, however, this did not count as an achievement in his favor, no matter how crazy it was. Draco guessed that it was because he was using a forsaken clone to do so, and not his main or celestial bodies.
All in all, Palkus was now the strongest version of the gomen, characterized by his abyss-like hair. Draco liked to call his form a Chaos Gomen.

All that remained for Palkus to do currently was take on the blacksmith test, the easiest of them all.
When he entered the building to the left of the guild, he was welcomed by yet another hall of similar structure.
Going to the receptionist counter and stating his purpose, Palkus found himself in front of a furnace a few minutes later.
Behind him were not one, not three, but every single blacksmith in this guild. They had heard of his achievement and they wanted to know if this young lad had what it takes to become a blacksmith.
This was the dwarfelven continent, so it's obvious that, similar to the elven alchemists Palkus has just left behind, the blacksmiths would be dwarves.
"Aye, young lad. Come on, take that hammer, and show us what yer little hands are capable of." An EX-rank blacksmith approached Palkus and hit his back loudly as he spoke.
Palkus, not surprised by the rough attitude of the dwarves, did not mind the little palm he had just received.
The room was dimly lit; the only flame lighting the atmosphere was the one in the furnace.
It was also quite small; all kinds of hammers, anvils, ores, and swords were thrown all around, showing the chaotic personalities of the dwarves.
"You have one try; take this law, meteorite, and make something good." Out of nowhere, a blacksmith approached Palkus, threw some ores on the ground, gave him his task, and walked backwards.
Palkus looked behind him to see the fiery eyes of the dwarves, then down at the ores, and lastly at the hammer that was on top of an anvil.
Without waiting any longer, he walked towards the furnace, the ores floating behind him.
He closed his eyes and the dark strings of fire law appeared. They flew towards the flame that was already burning in the little hole of the furnace and changed its color to black as the temperature around the room exploded upwards.
"Ooh, Nice little flame you've got there." Some dwarf commented.
Palkus, however, didn't hear him; he threw the various ores, including the law meteorite, a glowing white rock, and heated them until they were perfectly melted.
After that, he moved on to the hammering process as he took the melted ores and walked all the way to the anvil.
The dwarves watched attentively, as until now, the young man did not used any special technique. But that quickly changed.
*Pam* *Pam* *Pampam* *Pam* *Pam* *Pampam*
The sounds of hammering rang on until Palkus was satisfied. The remaining processes were easily completed, and by the end of it all...
"This... Y- you passed!"
