Chapter 208: World Phenomena!
"Very well." Draco, hearing this, got up from his usual lotus position and aimed his hand towards the planet.
{Devouring}
The familiar black and red vortex appeared and slowly descended towards the planet; however, since its target this time was such a huge world, it had to change its form into a veil of sorts that slowly encompassed the entire planet and once it was completely covered... *Fwsh* it disappeared into thin air.

{Devouring Complete!}
This planet, named Emerald, was more on the modern side of the planets Draco had visited so far. It was a world where people randomly awakened superpowers and went on to become heroes or villains, each with their own goal.
This cliché trope continued until a certain day, when the tower descended and it became a battle to the top. If there are more villains than celestials, the world becomes utterly chaotic, and if there are mostly heroes, it becomes less dangerous.
When Draco came, however, he found that there were 10 celestials; 5 of them were villains, and 5 were heroes. He had to say he was amused when all of them decided to temporarily team up against him. In the end, they didn't last a single spell.
As mentioned before, this was his seventh world until now. And out of all, two were cultivation worlds where he gained Chi as the worldly phenomenon, then a world of summoners where he gained Aether, three were mana worlds and lastly, this one gave him mystic energy.
What would Draco even do with worldly phenomena? And what were worldly phenomena in the first place? Do other celestials have them?
Worldly phenomena are the supernatural events and features of a world; a normal world such as Draco's first doesn't have them, and most of the time, they are in the form of essence or energy.
Now, do other celestials have them? Do world devourers also gain them when they absorb a world?
To understand what a world devourer does all along, there is but one simple exam. A lesser devourer is the same as someone who is only allowed to eat the filling of a biscuit, and they have to continue doing so until they are full. There is not one other benefit they gain from devouring the world other than ascending to the next world.
Thus, the answer is no; only Draco has ever managed and will ever manage to have something like a world phenomenon.
A world phenomenon is something like Mana, the supernatural energy that is sometimes born in the world and remains dormant until the right time arrives for it to awaken.
From then on, beings with superpowers appear in the world and depending on the world they might either have to deal with otherworldly monsters, supernatural problems in general, or, like most cases, play hero and villain and aim to rule the world until the tower appears and it becomes a race to become a celestial.
So, why is it called a worldly phenomenon? It's because its source is the world. A world has an infinite amount of such an essence, and it continuously generates more as beings are born within it.
Though the quality is limited depending on the level of the world, as time goes by, it reaches a certain level where it is strong enough for the tower to appear within it.
And what does this mean for Draco? Well, if we're speaking mana wise, then not too much, since he already had an infinite amount, but now that he's the source, even if Portalia ceases to exist, he will still have infinite mana, purer than the one Portalia itself formed, as it is nothing but a world with no mana celestial.
However... in the case of other world phenomena such as chi, aether, and mystic energy, Draco is now able to access completely different power systems at will and with but a single thought.
Thus, in a way, Draco could now go tow to tow with high celestials with no fear of losing or being forced to retreat, giving him the chance to devour stronger worlds than before and have an easier time reaching the next devourer tier.
And the reason Draco cannot become a high celestial by devouring one is because if he devours one, all he will gain is their authority, while his own will remain the same.
The possibilities of worldly phenomena are endless, and what one can do with them is even more so, but nobody but Draco has ever managed to even learn about them, not to mention obtaining them; thus, Draco has managed to gain something even the worldy celestials only have a semblance of.
"Onto the next one." Having completely absorbed the world and ran through its memories, Draco located his next target and started teleporting towards it; however...
"Oh? What do we have here?" Draco stopped midway; all around him was nothing but a vast expanse of void, as always, with stars looking like tiny dots, but to his right was...
"A dead star, huh?" He smiled, his senses managing to locate something interesting within it.
Without wasting a single second, Draco vanished from his spot.
