Chapter 53: A Magnificent Sword Slash
It failed to dodge it in time!
Mao Yue, Tang Yongnian, and Chen Yuan witnessed with their eyes widened to the size of saucers as the blinding and sharp sword beam chopped it in two halves, reaping its life in an instant, not even allowing it to put up a resistance, a fight for its life!
"What a powerful sword intent!"
"Who is this guy?"
"Whoever he is, we can\'t deny he is too strong!"
The exclamations made by Mao Yue, her childhood friend, and her senior brothers woke Mo Mingzhu up from her stupor.
She opened her eyes and peeked at her surrounding.
She saw a scene that filled her with immense disbelief and shock.
The alpha wolf was long dead, and a pool of blood had formed beneath the pieces of its body, and the blood was trickling towards her.
She took some steps back in disgust.
She heard the roar of wolves and raised her head to see another shocking scene.
The rest of the tree wolves saw the corpse of their boss then looked at Xie Yang, then they obediently tucked their tails between their legs and ran away frantically as if they had seen a devil!
Someone who could kill their boss with a casual wave of his sword could also slay them effortlessly.
Although they were all beasts, they could tell that they would fall victim to his sword if they lingered here any longer.
Mo Mingzhu\'s eyes opened so wide that her eyeballs threatened to pop out of their sockets. She found it hard to believe that the fearsome wolves who were attacking them so viciously were now acting like terrified rabbits and running away from them.
"Let them go."
The level 6 cultivator wanted to give chase, but after hearing what the man who just saved them said, he changed his mind.
He turned towards Xie Yang and said, "Thank you for getting us out from deep trouble."
Xie Yang saved them because he valued human life and because they were lucky enough that he chanced upon them when they were in deep trouble.
It was fate that brought him to them, so he helped them out to earn good karma.
"Saving you guys was like a walk in the park for me. Too easy." Xie Yang dismissed him with a casual wave of his hand.
Mo Mingzhu said, "Thank you for saving our lives, brother. I really mean it. I appreciate everything you have done for us."
Mo Mingzhu felt as if she was living in a fairy tale.
She felt that way because a handsome and fair man who looked like a prince had saved her life!
Mao Yue also found Xie Yang handsome and felt grateful for the help he had provided them.
"Who are you guys, and why did you come here? Haven\'t you heard that it\'s no longer safe for low-level cultivators to hunt in the golden woodland as people had sighted berserk bear running amok here?" Xie Yang questioned the group of four.
Chen Yuan, who looked like an honest man and had soft scholarly features, replied, "We are from the Black Unicorn Sect, and we came here to complete our mission. A few of our outer sect members had gone missing in this area, and we came here to look for them or find their remains. We\'ve heard of the situation in this place before entering.
We thought we wouldn\'t be unlucky enough to encounter it, but who could have thought that we would come across a pack of wood wolves that no one had ever sighted in this place. I can\'t believe someone can be as unlucky as us."
Xie Yang digested his words, and his eyes brightened in glee for a second as he came to a sudden realization.
People disappeared mysteriously, a beast surpassing its natural level limit, and the appearance of new types of beasts in a place like this were all signs that indicated that a secret spirit realm had opened in the golden woodlands.
Secret Spirit Realms are places full of treasure and danger, and one could make a fortune from conquering even the most dryest and simplest of them!
Where was it?
He needed to find out himself!
The onlookers failed to notice the glint of happiness that disappeared as soon as it came into his eyes.
"The golden woodland is weird nowadays. It\'s not safe here for low-level cultivators any longer. Go back to the city." Xie Yang warned them in a gentle voice.
"Weird. how?" Tang Yongnian asked.
With an upright face and an honest smile, Xie Yang replied, "It\'s more dangerous."
"We can\'t go back without completing our mission as we will face punishment for failing to complete it."
The Black Unicorn Sect valued rules over everything else. One of their rules was to punish people who picked up a mission but failed to complete it because they overestimated their capabilities. Mao Yue and Mo Mingzhu didn\'t want to get fined or punished. Their senior brothers felt the same.
"How about we stick together until you find your sect members?" Xie Yang offered help with a smile.
All of them looked at him with surprised expressions.
They haven\'t met such a nice guy like him in their entire life!
\'Was this what a saint looked like?\' Mo Mingzhu thought.
"Are you sure it wouldn\'t be troublesome for you?" Chen Yuan asked.
"Not really."
Xie Yang was going to wander this place anyway as he wanted to look for the entrance of the secret realm, so he didn\'t mind wandering this place with them.
Moreover, sticking with them was, in a way, helping himself.
If he comes across a large number of beasts, he won\'t be all alone now, and he can share some of his burdens with them too.
"I will do my best to not burden you." Mo Mingzhu said in a soft voice.
Anyone could tell that she was feeling head over heels for Xie Yang, but no one pointed it out, not even the person in concern.
