Chapter 204
"Luo Xiu!"
Dingke Media\'s lobby had good lighting and its ceiling was very high. Their floor-to-ceiling windows were so transparent that one could hardly tell they were there, and light poured in through them. And there Luo Xiu was, basking in the light while looking and smiling at her tenderly.
"It\'s been a while."
"Huh? We just…. At Daoci Temple……" Gu Nian was halfway through her sentence when she realized that Luo Xiu was making a joke. She smiled and her eyes curved. "Yeah, it had been quite a while."
"……"
The smile in Luo Xiu\'s eyes deepened.
"Slow down, Boss Zheng ––– Heh?"
Jin Kin hurried out of the elevator and stopped abruptly in front of the others.
His voice successfully reminded Gu Nian of the situation. Alarmed, she was dragged out of the joy of reuniting with her son.
Gu Nian flipped around and reflexively wanted to lift her arm and make sure that her son was safe behind her.
Nevertheless, she had just started lifting her arm when the person behind her so happened to come around her –– as though just a coincidence, he touched Gu Nian\'s slightly-raised arm and stood in front of her.
A bit of light flickered on the thin lens, and Luo Xiu smiled tenderly at the man with the long face.
"Good afternoon, Boss Zheng."
Zheng Haolei frowned and looked into Luo Xiu\'s eyes. His gaze looked like a wet rag that was being wrang. Even the last drop of water was about to be wrang dry by the tense emotions in his eyes.
Gu Nian knew only too well how scary Zheng Haolei could be when he had his mind set to do something. Worried, she wanted to walk up and hide her precious son.
Before she could make a move, however, Zheng Haolei\'s gloominess suddenly turned into a forced smile. "I almost didn\'t recognize it is you, Mr. Luo."
"?"
Gu Nian was surprised.
And Gu Nian wasn\'t the only one that was surprised. Jin Kun, standing next to Zheng Haolei, knew full well the prince\'s bad temper. Anyone who could make him address them so respectfully, especially under such an antagonizing situation……
"Boss Zheng, he is……?" asked Jin Kun in a low voice as he walked up.
"I\'m one of the actors." The chain from the gold-rim spectacles swayed a little. The man looked over with his tender brown eyes. His eyes curving a little, he looked over at Jin Kun. "Luo Xiu."
Jin Kun was taken aback a little.
He was one of their actors? He did have a face that looked like he could be a top actor, but Jin Kin had no recollection of him at all. Unless he was……
The very next second, the other party, as though he could read mind, added tenderly, "I\'m just a nobody. That is probably why you don\'t remember me."
Jin Kun, "……"
Dang. He was standing there straight than their boss right in front of the boss. Were all little actors this pushy nowadays?"
Before Jin Kun could put on a displeased look, Luo Xiu had already looked back in the other direction and asked tenderly, "Is there anything else, Boss Zheng? If not, I am going to take off with my friends now."
Zheng Haolei paused a little. "Mr. Liu and Ms. Gu are acquaintances?"
"Mmhmm."
Zheng Haolei gave Gu Nian a deep look, forced a smile on himself, and said, "Alright then. Have a good day."
Luo Xiu nodded slightly at Zheng Haolei and Jin Kun in a gentlemanly way and turned and walked back over to Gu Nian.
"Let\'s go?"
Gu Nian, recollected herself, tried to calm herself. "Alright. Yuanyuan, Xiaoqing, let\'s go."
"……"
Immediately after they had stepped out of Dingke Media\'s front door, Gu Nian\'s tense shoulders relaxed and she quickly turned around and asked, "You\'ve met Zheng Haolei in the past?"
"Mmhmm." Luo Xiu smiled tenderly. "Isn\'t he the general manager of our company?"
"Yeah, he is, but……"
"My agent had me exchanged a word with him during the annual ball and that\'s how I know him."
"Oh, I see."
