Chapter 42 42. People And Talents
Threat level: intermediate
Potential: High
Talents:
[Storm Caller](Gold)
[Intermediate magic aptitude](Blue)
Note: Other talents are suspected but further details are still unknown.
If his memory was correct then this guy was an antagonist. Unfortunately, this guy wasn't too big in his memory so he must have been some low tier guy that was slapped to death by the protagonist. But even these low tier mobs are being given golden talents? What is this!
How are little guys like him to survive if things are this dire?
Whilst Lucius humbled underneath his breath he quickly scrolled through the e papers. Even if the guy he just saw was a potential antagonist.
Due to the nature of his system and the task placed on him by the god, his interest was destined to never be on men. His attention could only be saved for those main heroines.
Lucius looked through it and finally saw it.
Name: Veronica Beaumont
Threat level: low
Potential: Extreme
Talents:
[Ultimate Fire Resistance] (Gold)
[Fire Caller] (Gold)
[Advanced Magic Aptitude] (Purple)
This was a main heroine and befitting such a status, there were golden talents everywhere.
Looking at it like this, the current him really wasn't worthy of any heroine.
He was just an exceptional fraud. A handsome scammer.
But even. He knew that there was nothing he could do other than strap up his boots and charge straight in.
Name: Mylael
Race: High Elf
Threat Level: Extreme
Potential: Extreme
Talents:
[Forest Walker](Purple)
[Master of Mana] (Gold)
[Archery Master] (Gold)
[Spirit summoner] (Gold)
Note: Other talents are suspected but further details are still unknown.
Hissss!
Lucius couldn't help but take in a cold breath as he saw these details.
Apart from the protagonist this was the only other person with both an extreme threat level and extreme potential.
What made Lucius even more fearful weren't the talents he could see but the ones he couldn't.
Everyone knew the principle of keeping a back hand hidden in the dark especially so you were a high elf.
After all, this wasn't the world where elves reigned supreme. The current ruler of the continent was the human race so how could the elevens show off and be too outstanding?
So what were her other talents? Purple? Golden? Or maybe even…. heroic?
Lucius didn't know too much about this high elf.
Whilst she could be considered a true heroine by all means, her situation was still a bit strange.
After the Academy Arc, she along with most of the eleven completely faded from the stage. Most of the readers attributed it to the Author's, that annoying gods', shitty writing and the effect of introducing too many new heroines that left her irrelevant but maybe that wasn't the case?
This was the real world, not a novel after all. All things would have to have an explanation.
Faced with these thoughts. Lucius couldn't help but think about other strange and abnormal occurrences that occurred in the novel.
If all strange occurrences weren't just the author's flaws but their own separate events then Lucius secretly felt a little worried.
After all, besides his system his biggest gain would be his knowledge about the novel.
Even if his interference would have a butterfly effect and mess up the timeline and events, Lucius still believed that he had the ability to weather out the storm.
But what if during the entire novel, there were still secret events going on? And if these events were mixed with Lucius's messed up timelines…. It could all turn into an utter shit show that even the god himself couldn't predict!
Suddenly the god's words from when he first arrived rang in his ears.
'I want to see my story from an angle I can't even predict.'
With that thought Lucius's face turned a little ugly.
Maybe he had got it all wrong from the start.
Before Lucius could stay on these thoughts too long he quickly shook them out of his head.
All his thoughts now were just abstract theories based on his gut feeling.
Without solid evidence, it was just useless fear mongering.
He could only hope his thoughts were wrong, for his own sake…
After getting those ominous thoughts out of his head, Lucius scanned through the pages and whilst he saw a few more golden talents most of the rest were just purple grade it wasn't until he got to beat the end of the pile that a character finally caught his eye.
Name: Nina
Threat level: Low
Potential: Extreme
Talents:
[True Alchemist] (Gold)
[Potion Master] (Gold)
[Tinkerer](Purple)
[Researcher](Blue)
Whilst Her talents were impressive what caught his eye was not her Gold and purple talents but her potential Evaluation of extreme.
Lucius had read the novel and he was a person from the modern day.
He knew just how deadly and terrifying these teasing him and development type talents could be given the finances and resources to reach their full potential. But that was just him using his future knowledge.
He was surprised that Camilla could do the same
Nina wasn't a main heroine but a love interest that didn't really have much character development after the academy arc but she still played some useful roles throughout the novel.
From what he knew about Nina she wasn't valued very highly in The Sanctuary at least during her first few years.
Although this world had started to go down the route of magic engineering and was making impressive progress.
The study of magic engineering when compared with the study of other magic specialities could only be said to be in its early infancy.
Whilst there were still mages that specialised in magic research they were all mages first and researchers second.
Although Nina's talent for Magic engineering was dazzling.
Her talent in magic cultivation and casting spells could be said to be so abysmal that it got to the point where people even doubted she was a Mage.
To make matters worse, Nina was only a commoner.
