Chapter 150: 150. I'm actually quite the villain myself
Hearing Serena's vicious words, Magnus took a deep breath. Serena was really trying to dirty his name with this one! Even amongst the hero families, there were levels, and naturally, the one with the highest rank was the imperial family, the family of the Sword Hero. If he admitted to Serena's words and continued his actions, he would be showing blatant contempt for the imperial family.
Now no matter how much Magnus wanted to take Ryan, all he could do was hold his breath and swallow his grievances.
"This… okay…" Magnus muttered to himself, disgruntled, and turned his head towards Lucius. The second their eyes met, a terrifying aura spread out, engulfing Lucius's body. How could Magnus not know that the one who caused this situation was this stinking red-eyed brat!
But even with the aura of a Master class fighter bearing down on him, Lucius didn't take it seriously. "Snort!" He just scoffed and looked back at Magnus without any fear in his eyes. Lucius wasn't stupid. He knew that saving Ryan today would inevitably offend the Montford family, but so what?
Just by looking at the vicious eyes of the two beaten brothers, Lucius knew that they would not let him off after this. Since he had already offended them, he should see it to the end! Besides, since he was creating enemies, why not build some good karma at the same time? What's so wrong with a villain cosplaying as a hero from time to time?
Magnus took one last look at Lucius before turning away in anger. Now that things had gotten to this point, he didn't want to say another word. But just because Magnus disdained to say anything more didn't mean the two bullies wanted to. Although they didn't dare say any words to Serena, it was impossible for Lucius to enjoy the same treatment.
Before they followed Magnus and left, one of them turned around to Lucius and said, "You've crossed the line today, messing with the hero families is not something to be taken lightly. You think you're some kind of hero or something?"
Ignoring the hypocrisy of such words coming from the mouth of a prided 'Hero' family member, Lucius just chuckled. "You think I only know how to play the hero?"
As Magnus spoke, an unsettling light quickly flashed in his eyes, causing the pair of brothers to stumble back. Stumbling back for a second, he felt his throat grabbed by a scaly claw and life being choked out of him. As he watched the man struggle, a wicked smile crept across Lucius's face. "In truth, I'm actually quite the villain myself."
The two brothers felt the life slowly leaving them as it became harder and harder to breathe. But just before things got any more serious, Serena scowled and slapped Lucius on the back of the head. "Hey, don't bully the kids."
Hearing this, Lucius just chuckled and released his aura, leaving the two pale-faced brothers behind.
Magnus turned around, but instead of glaring at Lucius, most of his anger was directed at the pair of stupid twins. He didn't have a problem with them throwing around the weight of the hero family, but how could they do that and end up embarrassed?
The children of the Shield Hero family have always been a little arrogant, but this was the first time he had seen them perform so poorly. It seemed like the training of the family's children had to be applied more strictly in the future!
After this, Magnus didn't have the face to stay. He reached out, grabbed the giant twins by the neck, and disappeared in an instant with movement only possible for a master fighter.
Seeing the master fighter disappearing in such an embarrassed manner, a complete opposite of when he arrived, Lucius burst out laughing. His laugh didn't last long before he heard a cold voice.
"Snort! You really love getting into trouble! One noble wasn't enough; now you provoke a great hero family. Do you want to fight against all nobles or something?"
Hearing this, Lucius's heart sank. 'Damn, she's too close to the mark.'
Despite being shaken by the eerily close prediction, Lucius didn't show it on his face and played it off. He just put a helpless look on his face and raised his hands powerlessly.
"How could I fight against a hero family willingly? I still value my life! If they weren't doing something truly disgusting, I wouldn't have stepped in."
Hearing this, Serena narrowed her eyes. "So if another hero family did this, would you step in again?"
Hearing this, Lucius's face didn't even flinch as he replied nearly instantly. "Of course I would. Helping those who need it in the face of any foe is the primary duty of a hero."
Seeing this, Serena's face didn't change, but inside, her heart bloomed into a beautiful smile. 'This child… maybe he could grow into a true hero.'

Serena's hand flashed out in a blur, but instead of the smack on the back of the head Lucius expected, he just felt a soft hand ruffling his hair.
"If it comes down to it and you're in a situation like this again, don't hesitate to act. As long as you're not in the wrong, I can guarantee nobody can lay a hair on your head, even if it's a hero family."
For a few seconds, Serena's figure in Lucius's eyes seemed to grow and stand there, larger and more stable than any mountain he could imagine. For a few seconds, a warm feeling seemed to grow in Lucius's heart.
